These people are beyond ridiculous.. get a call about blood work, they can't be normal and discuss over the phone you need to make an appointment, all they want to do is keep getting money from you, they were told numerous times that I can't afford another doctor bill.. they didn't like that answer been waiting all day for a phone call from these uncaring idiots.. almost 7pm & still no phone call every time we call they say the same thing you need to come in not caring about anything you have to say.. Never have I dealt with such ignorance from so called professionals, which they are not.. I wouldn't take my cat there!!! They should be ashamed of themselves for keeping patients waiting for a call t hey are not going to give you!!!! Disgusting

I've been going to this practice since it was heights primary care with Dr. Higgins. When it changed to advocare, it was fine. Since it has been riverside medical and now optum, it has gone downhill extremely. It's a horrible waiting time to get medications refilled and then when they do, they call in the wrong dose or quantity. When you call to talk to someone at the front desk, the wait times are always 15min or more, and no one seems to know what's going on.I just recently had a problem with high blood pressure and was told by a provider there to take a medication that I was weaning off of. Well, I'm glad that I waited for my psychiatric dr. to call me back, if I would have taken the medication optum told me to take , I would have been in the hospital.Another provider called in a prescription for me for a medication I stopped taking 15 years ago due to side effects.I am afraid to go back to this place now. They seem to be completely incompetent, including what providers they have left unfortunately.I would NEVER recommend anyone to become a patient at this practice.

I'm not trying to take away the validity of any other the bad reviews written here, however I wanted to share my personal experience with this office. I never have trouble getting appointments or getting someone on the phone. The front desk staff are always nice and I have been seeing Peter Higgins for a bit now. He has always been kind, extremely helpful and listened to my concerns. I even constantly recommend him to friends and family. So far I have no complaints and will gladly continue to return to this office!

This is the worst medical group on the pike mark, my words go there you will regret it. The woman that sits at the first window is the worst person you’ll ever meet in your lifetime like I said, the worst medical group on the pike.

This office, like every other recent review, is terrible. You can't get a hold of anyone to make an appointment, get refills, or any other information. I don't get it. I switched out to someone else and I can get someone on the phone right away and I was able to get a new patient appointment within the same week. Don't go here if you need medication regularly and need refills. It's impossible to get it.

This doctors office is unbelievable. They are impossible to get ahold of, phone wait times are always more than 20 minutes. I have been trying to get ahold of them for a week regarding an incorrect prescription (that was entirely their fault, they prescribed the wrong dosage), and this has yet to be resolved. I shouldn’t have to contact the office every day (which is next to impossible to do) for them to DO THEIR JOBS! DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE!

All the doctors left, like real quick. Can’t even get refills timely.

Terribly run office now. Have been a patient for 30 years. Cannot even schedule a sick appointment same day when I called 5 minutes after the office opened. Was told the earliest I could get in is 2 days later. Just so sad that this is where healthcare has gone in the US. This makes urgent care the only viable option for sick appointments.

Can’t give 0 stars, wish I could . Worse office ever!! Went today for a nurse appointment, made the appointment 2 days ago, confirmed while on the phone. Went to the office and I sat for awhile and thought I heard my name, went to the window as they were talking about me and was told that they don’t do the 2nd series of the shot wish I made the appointment for . I asked them why wasn’t I told when I made the appointment or at the least when I checked in. No answer other than they don’t do the shot. I have been a patient since the original Dr Higgins. I am looking for another practice . Obliviously Optum doesn’t read these poor reviews or do anything to change.

Janice saved my husband’s life six years ago and Kelli saved mine three years ago. I love them. BUT, now I know what all I'm hearing about this practice in recent years is about. I called at 8:16 this morning (Friday, 12/8) to get in to see anyone or get a tele-appointment. I was told that they don’t do telemedicine anymore and the “sick” appointments for the day are taken and that they only see sick people during the first hour of business. I was told that I could go to urgent care (for more than 3x the cost) or call again tomorrow morning and get in the lottery for tomorrow’s sick appointments. Other than that, they have an appointment at 11:00 next Thursday…a week away. What good does that do? I’m sick now!!! Utterly unacceptable and disappointing.

I have been a patient at this location for five years. When it was Riverside Medical Group, it was fine. However, now that it has been acquired by Optum it is awful. Stay away!!! In the new year we will be going elsewhere. There are no doctors here. Literally. The medical providers consist of three Physician’s Assistants and a Nurse Practitioner. All of the doctors previously with the practice appear to have left. I can’t even call this place my doctor’s office anymore. My wife has had ongoing issues with getting regular medication refills or getting timely resolution of issues with incorrectly prescribed medication. The institutional incompetence can be encapsulated in the following episode: my wife had a medication refill issue. She called the office at 4:30 on Friday afternoon. An answering service answered. She attempted to leave a message. She was told that the answering service could not take a message because the office was open. The office regularly closes at 4:00 on Friday’s and was in fact closed this day at 4:00.In short, the office was closed. The answering service answered the call because nobody was at the office to answer the call. But the answering service couldn’t take a message because the office was ‘open’.

I am not surprised to see all of the negative reviews and I couldn’t agree more. Riverside was not great but Optum is even worse. They are putting patient’s health in jeopardy, especially the elderly who may have a harder time navigating the faulty way the system is set up. We never had problems getting prescriptions refilled before but now they are significantly delayed waiting for the provider to review, and they try to keep scheduling medical appointments just to have a prescription refilled. 88yo grandmother with difficulty getting around attended a telehealth appointment and yet 2 weeks later was told to schedule another one to have a prescription refilled more timely. The wait times are also long trying to speak with someone to address these issues. Some of the staff have been helpful and it may not be the fault of the doctors but the way the practice is run and the systems they use are horrible.

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. The only reason I've stayed so long is because Dr Higgins is amazing and has been a great doctor. But unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get an appointment with him anymore. Last time I called Optum, they only had one appointment available in the entire South Jersey network and I couldn't take it so I was just out of luck. Unfortunately I'm going to have to switch doctor's.
