I being, very new into the sports card collecting hobby, primarily baseball, thought Mr. Conte was very helpful in deciding how I want to approach this hobby since there are so many different directions I could go.
He broke it down in a way that I could understand and his wisdom is greatly appreciated.
Are there some people who don’t think they are getting a good deal or feel like they are taken advantage of absolutely and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Can’t please everyone
Conte’s Card Castle has been in business for almost 30 years, Mr. Conte is doing something right. That’s 30 + years of experience.
“A man with an experience is never at the mercy of man with an argument”
I am from the comic book world and have an understanding of how the hobby/investments portion of collecting goes. I recently sold my comic book collection to friends of mine and made a good bit of money from the books.
I understand that comics and cards are different worlds but the investment aspect is basically the same
I appreciate Tony for his hospitality, knowledge, and wisdom of the industry. And he’s a Phillies fan
Thank you Mr. Conte.

Owner is calling out people for fake reviews. Save ur money and go somewhere else that doesn’t try to scam you

It’s not fake, this place is terrible. Some of the worst prices and inventory around.

This place has nearly 3 stars for a reason. Would avoid this place and make the trip to Card Capital way better prices, organized, better customer service

I started going to Conte’s 30+ years ago, and it has remained a neighborhood staple for card collectors and gamers all this time. Tony is the best!

I seriously just want an answer from the owner, how does one justify selling a Pokémon brilliant stars elite trainer box for $75. It makes no sense and the fact that this business does this and probably steals money out of blind new collectors pockets blows my mind and I will never ever return to this location. (still true after all this time)

Conte taught me a lot about the hobby, but I must give him 1-star, and I'll tell you why. When I first re-entered the hobby in May 2021, Conte's store was the first one I went into. I was like a sheep going into a slaughterhouse. I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I hadn't bought cards since I was 15, and now I was over 30 years old! That day, Conte sold me a Mike Piazza PSA 10 Bowman Rookie #461 for $400 cash that at the time comp'd for around $200-250. Of course, I didn't know this because I was new to the hobby and didn't yet know that ebay comps are gospel. When I asked Conte the price of the card, he said, "let me check ebay.. one went for $300 and another one went for $700, so let's do $400". When I looked at ebay's comps later on that week, there were no comps remotely close to $700. Most of the comps were low-to-mid $200's.I also noticed that there was a crack in the slab (while in the store). However, Conte said not to worry about the crack. He said PSA would re-slab it for free! I later found out this was not true. Go to PSA's website; they charge a fee for this.I called Conte later that week to voice my concern about the price I paid for the Piazza, and he basically said there's nothing he can do because the price of any card changes day-to-day.That same day, I also added a Derek Jeter rookie card to my purchase, which Conte charged me $25 for. You can find this card at any local card show for 3-5$. A month or so later, I submitted the card to SGC and it came back a 4.5. There was a crease on the back of the card (very difficult to see) that I did not notice. I called Conte to give him feedback about it and he said, "You don't know if SGC switched out the card.. there's nothing I (him) can do".Overall, the only reason why I was fortunate to have this experience is because it taught me early on how important it is to do your homework. It's a must, or people like Conte will rip you off, or as I like to say, Conte you (I'm going to coin that term) in this hobby.Conte is a nice guy, before I left he gave me a flyer on how to leverage ebay. The flyer definitely helped get me started and I'm thankful for that. He also gave me a great bit of advice: “player specialize”. However, because I was considerably ripped off, I must give Conte 1-star, as so many others have done before me.If you talk to any local hobbyist, everyone has a Conte story, and unfortunately, it's never a good one. Smart guy, but he'll rip you off. Beware the Conte!

Stopped in yesterday to support a small card shop in the beautiful district of Haddonfield. Unfortunately, his prices were super high. Even the vintage cards, telling me certain cards were worth a lot more than they actually are. I knew Hank Aaron was selling for $50-70 in great condition for his 69 Topps. Trying to tell me it’s in hundreds-thousands. To the owner: my knowledge of cards is huge, I may be young, but I’m not stupid. So I went to the Card Capital just a few miles over. Prices extremely fair, and store wasn’t cluttered!
