Ordered glasses almost 5 weeks ago. I was told it would take about 2 weeks for them to come in. I gave a call after 3 weeks, but no answer or option to leave a voice mail. Tried the next day and same thing. Following week i decided to drive 24min there to find out what was going on. The gentleman was out sick that day, so I leave a message with a manager. Here I sit 3 days later and nothing. Gave a call over there and the managers can give me no answer as to where he is, when he is coming back, or any solution. Managers are friendly, but apparently optical is a rouge agency.

Honestly, I believe BJs is better then Costco. Not as busy, coupons, & the overall better products!

Decided to try BJs optical as we were tired of going to our regular optician at the eye doc and paying high prices for glasses. They were having a 50% off all glasses sale and the prices were very, very good.I have progressive lenses and this would be my second pair of progressives. Progressives must be measured properly for something called "seg height" - which determines how high the reading prescription sits on the glasses. My first pair of progressives were excellent and I adjusted to them with ease.So I picked out a set of frames comparable in size to my old ones. I got standard progressives, with the Anti-glare coating and polycarbonate lenses. They do also offer HD progressives which are newer technology and allow a wider "channel" in which to see - aka you don't have to be looking so close to the center to have a sharp clear image. I was very specific about asking how they measure the height - asking what he uses to do this. He did NOT use a ruler to set up the height - he stated he uses a standard height that is comfortable for most people. This I believe was a BIG mistake and I should have stopped him there but I trusted him.So I placed the order and with what I ordered - my glasses were approx. $190 - this is an excellent price - and is truly 50% of what my glasses cost before at my original optician. So when I got the glasses in - I put them on and immediately felt they were not right. Looking straight ahead - the lower portion of my distance vision and the outer edges had a definite blur to them. The gentleman there attempted to adjust this by saying he could bend the sides of the glasses at the temples down to adjust the height a bit. He did this a few times. When he was done, the glasses were not perpendicular to my face, the bottom of the lenses were just about touching my face. I think there was a good 15 degree angle on them.He said I should give them a try and I would get used to them. I got in my car, and immediately I could tell they were still not right. Because of the angle of the lens, images were distorted, and when sitting behind a car at a stop light the license plate in front of me was still blurry. At home the bottom of the TV was blurry. I knew this was not right.I checked with two other opticians about the adjustments he made, and how to determine the height of the prescription. They both told me very minor angle adjustments are OK, but they seemed to think the seg height was definitely wrong.I took them back. He had no problem with changing the height and having them redone. I picked up my new glasses a week later, and the height seems to be right, and they feel good.So - bottom line - price - great, quality of glasses - seems to be comparable to others, but service wise - I feel like the gentleman at this store definitely did not measure me properly, and he attempted to compensate for his mistake by making poor adjustments. To his credit - he did not have a problem having them redone, and the other gentleman who was there when I picked up the second time was very nice and dealt with me just fine since I was only really picking up good glasses anyway.Overall - decent but not great. I might go back, but I think next time I will spring for the extra $100 for the higher end "HD" lenses.

With the average person spending well over $100 you would think they could open more registers.
