Nothing against the comedians they were great, but this place is trash. You are in a conference room, with a little stage with a black curtain up. The service is insanely bad, my group of 10 was waiting for our drinks so long I got up and went to the bar and the server was hanging out with our drinks on the tray. $33 for the tickets and $5 a water bottle, the prices are ridiculously high. I paid 2 different prices for the same drink that I ordered. Just not a great experience at all, I will not be returning to this expensive circus.

The club hosted the shows at the Renaissance Hotel in Rutherford. The hotel is STUNNING!The tables at the conference room used for the comedy club were narrow and close together. We were packed in the room like sardines.Other than that, the comedians were GREAT!

Not a comedy club, it's a hotel convention space with awful overpriced food and drinks.

We came to Bananas Comedy Club to see one of our favorite comedians. We were a group of 4 people. Our ticket cost, including service charge, was $144. Our bill for ordering 2 items each, including mandatory 18% gratuity, was $108. So minimum cost for 4 people is about $252 or $63 each. Can't say it was worth it.The night had an mc warming up the crowd who needs way more experience before he should be awarded the task of keeping the crowd engaged and laughing. He has some bits that if he worked on them longer might be good, but his energy, delivery, and interactions with the audience were off putting at best, offensive at worst. The warm up act was fine and we loved our headliner who did about a 60 min set.As for the venue, it's a conference room in a hotel so the set up looks a little bit amateurish, wish they had a slightly bigger stage, but it's workable. As for the food, about the quality you'd expect from a TGI Friday's or Applebee's. We ordered mozzarella sticks, fries, and Mac and cheese bites and they tasted like they came from the grocery store. The drinks were fairly priced and that was certainly a plus in their favor.

I love the comedians however they pack everyone in a small room. Chairs and tables are too close together Food and drinks are overpriced. Poor quality of food and choices. Forced to get two item minimum per person! Not everyone wants to eat and drink at that time...especially what they are offering. They no longer offer pitchers of Sangria. Constantly being distracted from show due to servers asking you or people around you for orders and passing bill at the end of the show. Last show I went to it was dark in the room so I didn't realize that they automatically charged for their tip under SERVICE FEE! So I ended up leaving an extra tip! We ended up spending an extra $70. We used to be able to pick up tickets and save on the processing fee ...now that is no longer available. I used to go at least once a month and now since it has gotten so expensive I will only go maybe 2x a year!

HORRIBLE SERVICE! My boyfriend and I went there for something different. The headliner comedian Jeff Dye was hilarious! BUUUUUTTT, it was really difficult to listen and have fun because of the TERRIBLE service. We ordered a chicken ceaser salad and a house salad. It took 1 hour to receive our margaritas and 1.5 hours to receive our salads! People that arrived 30 minutes after us, we got there at 6:40pm for a 7:30pm show, were getting their drinks and meals BEFORE us! We never even had a waitress/waiter. Everytime we had to flag down someone walking past us. We were seated directly next to the kitchen. It took all of me to not walk back there myself. Instead I wen to the "manager" DURING the show bc we were starving. He eventually came to our table to apologize and asked us how he could make it better. I said that he could AT LEAST deduct our drinks, but we should be reimbursed for our entire meal. Well, the bill came...... $95 dollars! He took $4 off of our bill! Obviously we left no tip, bc we didn't even have a server to tip, and left how horrible our experience was on the bill. So, in the end, we spent $76 for our tickets to see an awesome comedian, $95 for 2 salads and 2 margaritas in a tiny plastic up and were given plastic forks. NEVER AGAIN! If they had compensated AT LEAST our 2 drinks, like we asked, I wouldn't be taking my time to find EVERY website I possibly can to give Rutherford Bananas Comedy Club 1 star. And the 1 star is bc I can't give a 0 and Jeff Dye was great! Wish we got to see his whole act instead of trying to flag someone down for our salads.

We barely had any space to move we were packed like sardines. I had to use the bathroom during the show but felt like I couldn't even back my chair up to get out. Uncomfortable chairs to be sitting for over an hour. The food is fried and greasy. The staff was very friendly and worked their butts off hustling to get to everybody. The comedians were good, atmosphere will have me not returning.

Great acts but venue not great for comedy. There is lighting on the sides of room and no overhead lighting so it creates a blinding effect for us in audience.

The show was great, but they need to do something about the lighting. The lights were directly in my eyes

Not what I expected for a ‘Comedy Club’ but the comedian was the most important part and it was fun!

Overpriced food and drinks. $15 for a Dixie glass of margarita. Also, the comedy club is literally inside of a Marriott conference room. If the comedian is good, then you can get through it, but otherwise wouldn't recommend.

Was a different night out. Random conference room where they host a comedy show so don't expect NYC level show. But for what you pay it's worth it. The acts were good and food was good. Happy that it wasn't a two drink min which I hate at other comedy shows.

Last night was our first time at the Bananas Comedy Club. We went to see Ben Brainard and Zach Bennett. They were both awesome, very funny, and even did a meet and greet after the show! Unfortunately, the venue left a lot to be desired. It was in a small conference room in the lobby of a hotel. They have a minimum order of one beverage and one food item per person, which is fine. We arrived and waited 20 minutes, but still hadn't been even greeted by a server, so I ended up asking someone to come take our order. They messed up my boneless buffalo bites. I ordered them with the buffalo sauce on the side, but when it came out, they were sauced. I said something right away before the guy could even put the plate down. They took it back, but when the replacement came out the chicken was dry and still tasted of the sauce because they obviously didn't remake the order; they just put the same chicken back in the fryer. At that point, I was too hungry and ate it anyway. Then, when we received the bill, they had added on an 18% service fee, which we were not told about in advance, nor was it written anywhere on the menu or anything. Suffice it to say, we will not be returning to this location.
