I am new to this area and I have always wanted to try a protective style. Dina the owner was very patient with me and answered all my questions. She was helpful and even provided a Beauty store for me to purchase the hair from. The stylist was also super sweet, she was gently, and worked fast. With me never having braids I was a little worried I would be tender headed but she was great and we had a great conversation so It felt like It took no time! I know I may sound super cheesy but I am being honest my first experience was great and I can't wait to come back for my next protective style!

I love this Salon. After going to many other salons and being dissatisfied with the service, I was so happy to find Epic. The owner is so sweet and the prices are reasonable. I only get a wash, blow dry and straighten but Z is the only one I will trust with my hair now. My hair always feels weightless and looks beautiful! Thanks Epic, see you soon

Had to go back home and touch up my haircut, but I'm used to doing my own hair. A little over priced for the job done.

THis was my second or third visit to Epic. When they first opened, I received a nice hair cut with my natural hairstyle. At present time, I have a relaxer in my hair and asked for a nice cut. I showed pictures of hairstyle that I would have liked the stylist to do. The owner assured me when I made the appointment that I would be done within my lunch hour. They ran a little over an hour due to the customer before me took longer than anticipated. Overall, it was a nice experience however I felt that the stylist was rushed because I wanted to be done in a hour. I was not happy with the hairstyle but the owner did offer for me to come back after work so another stylist could fix the cut.. Again, it was not a bad experience overall.. I would probably go back since they are close to my job...

Was so excited to find a salon nearby that could do African American hair. When I got there I was automatically put in a chair. The woman who did my Senegalese twists asked me to show a pic of the size of twists I wanted. I showed her the hair I brought and she combined te two colors so that my twists would look like I had highlights. Marie was so fast and so nice. I was offered water or lemonade and was able to sit for the next four hours in quiet. Halfway through my mom stopped by to see the salon and she was actually able to get a last minute color and blowout. I was happy with my twists and will definitely be back since they offer such a wide variety of services. Bonus: they are right next to Italian, Jamaican, and Mexican food places so you can always stop and grab food if you have to sit for a long time like I did!

My first experience with Epic Beauty Salon & Spa. I have to write them a SHINING review because this is the most satisfied I have ever been walking out of a salon. BACKGROUND INFO: I am a Filipino chick, and I wanted to get crocheted braids. Going into this, I tried to research online as well as ask around about braiding Asian hair. I knew NOTHING about it and there's almost no info online! Finally, I decided to Yelp a salon, go to the one with the best reviews, and I found Epic Salon. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I gave them a call. Dina, the owner of the shop, answered. I told her my situation. I have Asian Hair. I have A LOT of hair. I want braids. That's about all I know. She was very accommodating, helpful, and informative. She even gave me her number and asked me to text her examples of what I was looking for, which made it a lot easier! I sent her 2 pictures, which she discussed with Mecca, the hairstylist who would be doing my hair. She responded promptly, directed me to a trusted website where I could order the braids that I wanted, told me how much I would need, called me back, and set me up with an appointment the very next week. I ordered my braids on ebonyline.com and was advised by Mecca, who told me I could look around for even cheaper braids next time too. (I was really satisfied with the hair I got from ebonyline, the braids are done very well! I got a medium thickness for a bit more volume, crocheted box braids. They came in after 2 days) THE APPOINTMENT: Located in the nice town of Hightstown. Parking is easy. When I walked in, I saw that it was also a boutique! The salon is in the back of the store in a separate room that is open to the front. It is very clean, comfortable, and tends to only ONE CUSTOMER at a time. Mecca has a welcoming, friendly personality (and so does Dina!) and after talking for a bit, I could tell she really put thought into how to style my hair according to my needs prior to my appointment. IT TOOK LESS THAN 3 HOURS. Mecca really knows her s**** Am I allowed to say that on a review? Because seriously, she does. She was able to braid my thick/Long hair accordingly and make the crochet braids look amazing. She told me to buy the perfect amount of hair (9pks). Great conversation, lots of laughing (yes, that is important in a hair stylist! I believe you need to be able to talk to the person who will be doing your hair and hanging out with for 2+ hours!) and so down-to-earth! In the end, she also asked if I preferred a braid here or there. I told her I liked the look of volume and she did it! She even styled my hair in a style that I saw/liked! Total was $150. 10% off for first time customers. Overall, great quality, great people, great attention to detail, and I will definitely be coming back! Thank you ladies for a great experience!

Went here for a sew in. While the end result was cute not completely satisfied with the way it was constructed. Cornrows were loose and put into two big braids at the back of my head. I Did specify I did not want a lot of leave out left out and I got at least a 4-inch section of my real hair left out. Again, its not that it didn't look good but having that much of your natural hair left out means more to flat iron and curl and be subject to heat damage. *thank you for the response. I do understand about the different categories of the sew in and had those been offered to me, I would have made a decision accordingly. When I indicated I did not want that much natural hair left out, I wasn't presented with any options. I was told "well, you're gonna have hair left out". Being told, 'for this amount this is what you get but for this amount we can do this' would have made for a different experience. I don't mind paying for the things that I want so it's not a matter of expecting the most for the least.

I got my crochet braids done here and I'm so happy with the results! It was a decent price ($120 for shoulder length bohemian curl) and it took about 2.5 hours. Meccah was very sweet and gave me lots of tips to care for the hair (this was my first time getting this style). She was happy to fix my part when I wanted to make some adjustments and it was the best braiding experience I've ever had at a salon. The shop was really cute and clean and the whole experience was really pleasant. I will definitely come here again!

Excellent service, friendly people, and the place is very clean. Even though i usually get my hair cut at my local barbershop, this salon did a good job cutting my hair. I was very pleased with the service.
