“Just came to the Dollar General Hillside today around 12:40P. The new manager was very pleasant and professional. Unfortunately the cashier didn’t have a bag for my purchases and the manager very generously offered to bring my items to my car. That NEVER happens. He even came in today apparently on his day off. You definitely need to hire more managers like him!!”

“It's Dollar tree. But it should be called a dollar and 33 cent tree! Because that's how much everything in New Jersey and New York is with the taxes lol”

“I love this store for its affordable prices and unique finds. I have been a client since the day one. Sarah, throughout these years, always with a smile and consistently provides exceptionally friendly service by listening attentively to my concerns and those of other customers, responding with patience and knowledge about which line the products I need are in ?”

“I usually don’t leave reviews, but this one is long overdue—and it’s actually the first review I’ve ever written. The Dollar General in Lyndhurst, New Jersey has become one of the most warm and welcoming locations, and it’s all thanks to an employee named Mary. She is truly one of a kind—beautiful, vibrant, kind, and incredibly warm-hearted. She always acknowledges everyone, takes the time to speak, and makes each person feel seen and valued. Her uplifting spirit brings so much joy to every visit. She is the main reason I choose this Dollar General over any other. I truly hope she is recognized and rewarded just as much as she brightens the days of everyone she meets. I thank God for people like her?”

“They have a great selection of items for $1.25. They don't really have the $5.00 items. Just some random items are $5 and some food items. Everything else is like the good ol'dollar tree. Oh, also, I guess because the price of helium went up, balloons are mostly $2 -$5 which is why I give 4 stars. I wish they wouldn't keep raising prices however with inflation everything goes up unfortunately.”

“I have to honestly say that when visiting the Dollar Tree in Roselle, I saw something amazing. A customer asked my mom, who works at the Dollar Tree, to help her pick up some decorations for her apt., which was small and her $$ was low. My mom suggested a few items and the lady was so happy that she asked my mom for a hug. My mom is 75 yrs old and has to work to be able to pay her bills. She has always been a hard worker and has gone above and beyond to make sure her kids were taken care. I wish I could help her financially but I myself am on a fixed income. With that said, my mom's English is not great (and yes she is a citzen, we are from Puerto Rico) but she loves to help ppl out. I hate that she has to work til late sometimes, as I fear that she may get robbed or hurt. However, it's nice to see when customers appreciate her dedication and love for what she does. Most often, she is having to ask customers not to make a mess after she worked long and hard (with her hands that hurt). Ppl sometimes can be mean and it's times like this that make me think that there are still good ppl in the world. Thank you to the customer who thought enough to make my mother's day a little brighter!!”

“My wife- Loves , goin to D.T. - But... Now, NOT THE SAME. They've been raising the prices for a Minute, now. So... some of the things you might buy, aren't really worth it now. But... I get it, with the way things are. Just sayin”

“This store has the best staff I’ve ever encountered And also they keep this store very clean and stocked while helping any and all customers. It is a store I generally visit on a daily basis for one item or another and I always leave with a smile on my face. They have the best group of employees all around. I would recommend everyone stop in when they’re in the neighborhood to experience old time friendly service so you can see for yourself why this store deserves such a high rating. Thanks so much to everyone at this store for always making my day a little brighter each and every time I walk through their doors. Thanks so much Marcia. ?”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough good things about my local Dollar Tree! Every time I walk in, they have exactly what I need, from household essentials to little treasures I didn’t even know I wanted. The shelves are always well-stocked, and the store is clean and organized (unless its delivery day which is expected) , making shopping a breeze. The manager is an absolute gem—such a great guy! He’s always friendly, approachable, and goes out of his way to make sure customers are happy. You can tell he really cares about the store and its shoppers. And let’s talk about Fran, the new cashier—what a delight! She’s so professional, with a warm smile and great attitude that makes checking out a pleasure. This Dollar Tree is a fantastic spot, and the awesome staff makes all the difference. Highly recommend!”

“Impressive array of “dollar store priced” essential and some hard to find household items. My focus on this particular visit was home hardware/tools and cleaning supplies. Easily located everything on my list and pleased with the quality of the items. Be warned: if you’re a hobbyist then expect to become easily distracted by items you didn’t plan to purchase (or didn’t realize you needed until spotting them)! Looking forward to using the large magnets (package of 4 for $1.79!) among other miscellaneous dollar store treasures I found”

“It's a Dollar Tree. Store was clean, shelves were stocked, line moved quickly. Only complaint is its not as much a $ Tree as it's becoming a Dollar General. More & more $3, $4 & $5 items. Time to change the name.”

“Family Dollar on Jersey Street provides a wide variety of goods and items ranging from Hallmark greeting cards to icecream. This dollar store is vital to the community as it is one-stop shopping and consistently helps families & individuals alike. This dollar store was even open during the epic snowstorm NYC recently experienced! Today, I had the pleasure of meeting new staff person, Calvin, who did a superb job maintaining his patience and professionalism during an unusually BUSY Saturday morning with about 10 customers standing behind me on line. There was a delay on the register but Calvin remained CALM and pleasant, focusing on helping ME, despite frustrated customers on line. I praised Calvin for being so calm and accommodating to me. Calvin reported he just started a month ago, but I want to say he was a pro at handling a crowd of ppl and not getting much help. Hopefully management will provide more support & acknowledgement to those staff members who go the extra mile helping customers! Great job CALVIN! --- Cynthia”

412 Main St, Belleville NJ 07109
“They are not charging extra sales tax, there is a 3% surcharge on credit cards. Most people buy 1 or 2 items and that's usually 3$ . Imagine if they had to absorb the fee the credit card companies charge them,,,,, they would be out of business. Wake up people before you accuse people of theft.”
