I had a pretty bad experience here and this is the second time around. The owner never seems to want to acknowledge me and every time I feel rushed. I got my hair colored and after getting a wash, I wasn't even offered to dry out my hair. I was asked to leave as they had other clients. I had previously gotten service here and it looks like it's gotten worse. My appointment was late, overall very poor experience.
I also felt like I was asked to sit in unclean chair.

Been there 3 times, got Billy every time and you should too. Super nice guy who is funny and considerate, asks you throughout the cut if everything looks good, great at what he does. 3/3 every time. Price is a little high but it’s worth it every time. If you go try to book Billy. (I don’t doubt that all of their staff is talented as well, my only experiences have been with him.)

I highly recommend Billy. He was able to deliver on a period haircut I had requested (a shag a là 1980). He worked with me on the length and the amount of contrast I desired. He did an amazing job, my hair has so much style without even styling it.

The owner of the salon did a blowout for me. Let me mention I have naturally curly hair. I should have asked if he knew how to work with curls because he most definitely did not. My hair came out so frizzy it looked like I just got hit by a tornado. He was a very nice guy- but when he saw my hair he should have been transparent and declined. Instead- he charged me full price and kept insisting I had dead ends. The first photo was my hair after he was finished blowing it out. The SECOND photo was my hair after my blowout with my normal stylist. No curler, straightener etc. Definitely will not be back.

The salon is very welcoming, clean and professional. I feel so relaxed going to an appointment here as it has a friendly, calm atmosphere and I know I’m going to leave with fabulous hair every time. I've been going to Gianna for over a year now and she consistently does an amazing job of my hair - both styling and colour. I refuse to go to anyone else! I highly recommend this place and especially Gianna - whether you're looking to get "your usual" or try a totally different style/colour, she will give you her expert advice (without being pushy, as I’ve experienced with other stylists elsewhere in the past) and get you exactly the look you want.Services: Hairstyling

Gianna has been my hairstylist for years. I follow her wherever she goes because I know I can trust her with my hair. She is always willing to go above and beyond to make my hair color dreams a reality while still being realistic about what is achievable at the time. Gianna has done many different colors and cuts for me over the years, which just goes to show how versatile and talented she is as a colorist and stylist. I love bringing my idea to her and seeing the end result.I have been to 6th Borough a couple of times since Gianna started working there and have always been happy with my experience. It's a nice location in uptown Hoboken and easy to get to the from the light rail. The salon is clean and has a relaxed atmosphere, staff is always friendly and accommodating. I love the shampoo sink area because they have comfy ottomans and a cool black and white photo wall of famous people throughout history.Services: Hairstyling

6th Borough salon has cool vibes!! It is very clean, spacious, has nice decorations on the walls, and the place makes you feel like you're in a star prep room I got introduced to the salon through my hair colorist Gigi who is so talented and fantastic. I met her a year ago and I have been seeing her once a month for roots touchup as I have grey hair. Also, I have super curly hair and she is the only one who knows how to handle it through hair highlights, bangs cuts, gloss, and all the other necessary work that my curly hair needs.Services: Hairstyling

I LOVE 6th Borough. Kristin Mineo has been cutting my hair for years and every cut is perfection. Recently I've been getting dry curly cuts and my curls have NEVER looked better. I never write reviews, so please trust me when I tell you that 6th Borough Salon has the best hair stylist I’ve ever encountered. Gianna is not just an incredibly talented colorist working her magic from beautiful, rich brunettes, to brilliant blondes, to luscious pink hues, but she’s also a genius with cutting and styling. Her skills are unparalleled, and they’ve sustained me as a client for 7 years. I hope she never moves too far away, but if she does, I’m sure I’ll follow her, because a good stylist is golden. I absolutely love 6th Borough Salon. I have fine, blonde hair, and grew up with a mother who was a hair colorist/stylist so my standards are incredibly high. The only person I trust to touch my hair is my hair guru Gianna. I’ve been fortunate enough to have Gianna take care of my locks for 6 years now, and it’s truly the best decision I’ve ever made. It was an easy move to follow her over to 6th Borough Salon, even though I live in Jersey City. It is WELL worth the trip to Hoboken. The salon is impeccable, super clean, very inviting, and comfortable. This is very important to me, since my hair is long and blonde, and usually takes 4-5 hours, so I need to love the space I’m spending that much time in. I truly feel like I’m at home with friends when I visit Gianna and the other amazing stylist/colorist at 6th Borough. We laugh, chat, and sincerely just have a great time. I also need to note that the shampoo chairs are SO COMFY!!! Ladies you know it sucks being in the shampoo chair straining your neck, wiggling around trying to enjoy your shampoo. 6th Borough has the best, and I can just close my eyes and relax. 6th Borough uses Davine’s hair care products, which if you have not tried you MUST! I’ve never seen or heard of this brand until my girl Gianna was brushing my very easily knotted hair with ease. I asked what magically sorcery product could comb through my hair so easily and she told me all about the Italian brand Davine’s. I bought the products for color treated hair after my color, cut, blow dry at the salon and I’m hooked. My color has stayed fresh and vibrant (2 months after my service), and my hair combs wet and dry with total ease, adding shine and smoothness as well. All in all, if you are looking for the best place to take care of your hair; 6th Borough is the only place to go in Hudson county! Make sure to book your appointment in advance, especially if you want to my hair guru Gianna to work on your locks. Her appointments and the appointments at the salon as a whole book very quickly as the best places usually do.Services: Hairstyling
