Worked with Patricia Tosich and she did my taxes fine, but as we were checking out she was very rude to her colleagues and not being considerate of their own work. She seems a little too old to be acting in such a way.

My mom is 92 yrs old, had a good experience last year but this year the manager Glen Bloom would not give my mom a $100 credit for a basic tax filing. When the agent text him, he responded no only $50, how does a senior on a budget afford $324 for taxes. Glen has no empathy & no concern for people, he just wants to make $$ for this location. Go elsewhere, don’t waste your time due to the manager GLEN

I met with Patricia this morning after giving up on preparing my taxes on my own, and it was 100% worth it. Patricia was beyond friendly and helpful – she really puts the customer first. She walked me through the tax prep process step by step and made sure I was comfortable before moving forward with the filing. Everything was done in under 30 minutes, and the fees were reasonable. I look forward to working with Patricia in the years to come.

Was Scheduled at Jersey City location first, the day of I got a call that they are closed and I need to reschedule to another location. Then I scheduled for this location a week in advance and the same thing happened. Why have appointment slots for closed locations? Then you tell the client the day of the scheduled appointment, so unprofessional.

Avoid doing your taxes here! Last year my wife and I did our taxes here and let our tax preparer , Gayane, know that we wanted to use a payment plan for our large tax bill. She went ahead and authorized the FULL AMOUNT to be taken from our bank account! After I got a notification, I couldn't get anyone on the phone and when I went down there to try and fix the problem, the lady behind the front desk was extremely rude to me and told me that is what I get for doing my taxes so close to the deadline. She did nothing to help us. We had to put a stop payment on our bank account which cost me additional money not to mention stress & anxiety. Go anywhere else to do your taxes.

I know there are a handful of poor reviews for this location, but I've only ever had great experiences with Patricia. She is efficient, prepared for your meeting prior to the scheduled time, and clearly very knowledgeable about her job. This will be our third year of tax preparation with her, and my husband and I plan to continue going annually for Patricia's help.

Whatever you do, don't hire Mahendra Agrawal at H&R Block in Hoboken NJ. This tax preparation "service" is a joke. We used H&R Block for our 2019 tax filings in the hopes that this would be the year we can finally get reliable help with taxes. The initial filing did not save us time, as we spent countless hours reviewing and pointing out numerous mistakes. But we clearly we should have spent countless more. In 2020, we received our first audit letter from the NJ state government pointing out that the tax preparer ONLY REPORTED ONE OF OUR INCOMES from the state filing (despite filing both for federal), and we did not pay the correct amount on capital gains as a result of our income level. This was neither a complicated tax loophole nor some intricate detail--it was a complete lack of attention to the basics. After chasing this issue down, we asked Mahendra if we should file an amended return. He advised that we should not, and that H&R Block would not cover the filing fee for an amended return at this time, but if we received any follow up letters, H&R Block could help with this. We reluctantly agreed to this on his advice. In 2022, we received the second audit letter charging the difference plus hundreds of dollars in interest and penalties. We reached out to Mahendra again (which took some time, as he advised us he only worked on Saturday and could only respond once a day), he changed his tune to say that H&R Block would not cover the interest or penalties, and we should have filed the amended return in 2020. He refused to give us the name of his manager to escalate this, and suggested we speak to customer service. Safe to say, we now do our own taxes.

Do you like having your taxes messed up and being abused? Then this is the place for you! H&R Block provides inaccurate and misleading advice and then abuse and gaslight you if you ask for your taxes to be properly filed. The scumbag staff will lie and deceive you. Great place to meet scam artists and gutter trash degenerates if that's your scene. Terrible for people with self-respect that want their taxes properly filed.
