I came in by ambulance for chest pain radiating down my left arm and neck and jaw blood pressure was 188/109 and couldn't breathe they saw me come in literally turning blue and the nurse said I was high on drugs to take me to the waiting room I passed out in the waiting room and woke up with a nurse literally poking me in the face saying are you ok no vitals no ekg just a poke and a whisper. I ended up getting transfered to Mt. Sinai hospital in NYC where I had a M. E. and was admitted for three weeks and a stent put in the care was awful at the University hospital the quality is the get paid and they don't care. If you want to live go anywhere else but here

What an absolute creep of an ER doctor Dr Pretty Bhatti. Zero emotion, bedside manner, interrupts every question she asks. Barks at you and best of all, presumes anyone with pain must be a drug addict. Try another profession. Manure wrangler?? What a piece of nasty work!! You know you can ask for a different Dr? Wish I knew.

I just delivered my baby at HUMC two weeks ago and I only have positives to share from my experience. From my L&D nurse Marlita who helped prep me for my scheduled C section to the wonderful care I received in Mother & baby after being transferred - it was all amazing. Several nurses jump to mind who made me so comfortable and reassured me to walk and helped my recovery. A huge thanks to Nasreen, Janet, Teghan and Joyce, as well as the other lovely nurses who helped me during my stay. My husband had to shuttle back and forth as we had an older toddler at home and the nurses were swiftly there to help me when I was alone because I couldn't get out of bed to pick my baby up in the early few hours post surgery. The private room was cleaned every morning promptly and no issues with the dining options too - my stay was very comfortable and above all, the care I received gave me confidence as a mom. For instance, I advocated for something and the nurses actually heard me out and made me feel seen. I delivered my first daughter at another large hospital in Manhattan back in 2019 and the care I received at HUMC was way more personal. Moreover the community feel comes through by the level of support you receive-- for instance, Carmen (the lactation consultant) was so brilliant in coaching me--because of her I was able to and am still exclusively breastfeeding my baby. I was initially skeptical about delivering at HUMC given the negative reviews but I'm glad I went with my gut because the doctors, L&D staff and mother and baby nurses are all amazing and should be lauded for the brilliant work they're doing!

I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL! My boyfriend had a stroke and was misdiagnosed by them for 5 days!!! He was experiencing vertigo and they just said it was high blood pressure and he probably drank too much. They gave him blood pressure medicine and Dramamine. He even told the care team he thought he had a stroke and they basically said no way. Finally after 5 days, the did an MRI and figure out that in fact he did have a stroke!! We are so lucky he didn't die because of their horrible level of care.

I have prostate cancer stage 4 and my doctor started me on Morphine but it didn't agree with me so oxycodone was next the brand was good for me but I got my medicine today and it was a different brand that I was given by the pharmacy and I didn't feel well and told them and they said we understand we will be sure to give you the correct meds. Now they have a new pharmacist and she didn't tell me it was the bad meds. Got home opened the bag to discover it was the wrong medicine. I called her right away and she said they were out of stock with my medicine. Now they are closed and I have pain medicine that I can't take. If she told me I could have transferred the prescription to a different pharmacy. And I'm sure they will not take it back because I left the pharmacy and went home. So what do I do for the next 30 days. Stage 4 cancer really is painful. Poor communication and I have to suffer now for the next month. Definitely changing pharmacy

Now I understand why everybody that lives in Hoboken talks about this hospital I went to the emergency room several times And nothing has changed when you walk into the emergency room you have Workers in the front that cannot answer you a simple question they always tell you I don't know Once you're in the emergency room some of nurses are sarcastic And they keep you in that room for hours and then the Hospital send your Insurance a large bill saying that they took care you and go see your primary doctor the next day

This complaint has nothing to do with the floor staff and all to do with hospital administration or whoever sets the prices. Staff is great, I'll say that. Brought my daughter in for a seizure, an 8 hour ER visit cost 50,416.52!!!! I asked for an itemized bill and cannot believe what I saw. Individual lab tests costing 636-656. Simple throat culture 600, and what they call ER comprehensive..... just being there? Cost 21,839. Did some research and the same tests in other places costs no where near these prices. Of course the person on the phone offered no solution and said those are the prices and they won't change. I want to see how else I can bring attention to this, it feels like price gouging and taking advantage of people. I will do everything in my power to avoid all care point health hospitals. Thank god for my insurance, I even feel bad they paid most of it. By the way, my daughter received no major procedures or surgeries with our price tag. This is so disappointing.

This is the absolute worst hospital we've ever been to. My boyfriend cut his finger with a box cutter and over 4 hours later he still has not gotten them. We will be lucky if we leave before the 6 hour mark. A drugged up person was terrorizing the people in the waiting room and the security guard stayed in his security room until he left. No sense of urgency whatsoever. An absolute nightmare please go literally anywhere else if you can help it.
