I love this place!!! Get good vibes and leave with great hair! They use really nice smelling and luxe vegan products here, and when you sit down they give you a warm towel and hot tea. If you're lucky two doggies, Sita and Leche will be there too!

Title: Disappointing Customer Service ExperienceI recently had a highly disappointing encounter with the receptionist at the Aveda salon. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected medical emergency that required immediate surgery, I had to reschedule my appointment a few hours before a long awaited, much anticipated appointment, I was beyond disappointed and also very unwell. Instead of receiving understanding when I rang to explain the situation from my hospital bed, the receptionist showed zero compassion and was incredibly rude on the phone, telling me I’d caused huge issues and that there was a huge gap in my stylists schedule for the day. She made me feel so awful and didn’t even acknowledge my feelings, I was crying by the end of the phone call, which left me feeling even more distressed during what was already a traumatic experience.Customer service is a crucial aspect of any establishment, and it is disheartening to have encountered such a lack of professionalism and empathy. As someone who values the importance of genuine care and support, I was deeply saddened by the receptionist's behavior. It is important for salon staff, especially front-line personnel, to exhibit empathy and understanding in situations like mine.While I cannot speak for the quality of the salon's services or treatments, this experience has left a lasting negative impression. I hope that the management of Aveda salon takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for improved customer service training and a more empathetic approach towards their clients. I am happy to be contacted to provide more specific feedback.

I couldn't get onto my regular stylist's schedule so I went here once and returned 3 different times. I always loved the end result but left with a bad taste in my mouth. The second time I went for a cut my stylist insisted on curling my hair in addition to the cut. I said no, I didn't want any curls, but he proceeded and then at checkout attempted to charge me an additional $15 for the curls. When I explained I didn't want or ask for them he waived the fee. The next time I returned we had the same issue and this time instead of mentioning the $15 for the curls he just added it to the total which I knew was $15 higher than the last cut. Unfortunately, I will not be returning as I don't appreciate a stylist who doesn't listen and then charges for something I didn't even want.

I had a great experience with hair cult and with my stylist Steff! I came in morning of to fix a “at home” cut gone bad. Stephanie at the front was so kind and was able to fit me in that afternoon by a miracle. Steff my stylist took time to chat through how we would fix the style while still achieve a cut I wanted. She made me feel so beautiful. All of the extra’s at the salon like the tea and hot towel made me feel so pampered. Needless to say, I’ll be returning to Steff as my stylist in the future and will be sure to schedule ahead of time. I felt so lucky to have been able to get in yesterday!Service: Hairstyling

I just came back from my appointment with Steff and I'm stunned. I love my new haircut, it just looks amazing. Steff is by far the best hairdresser I have ever met. She's gentle, kind, precise and passionate. She took really good care of my hair, made me feel heard and addressed. I will be back!Services: Hair coloring

I have very heavy & thick hair that not every hairdresser knows how to work with. I walked in with no consultation form filled out and Henry took care of me impeccably - he knew exactly what I wanted just from looking at my hair and he cut it with all the techniques I was hoping he would, without me even having to ask for it. I have volume and bounce back in my hair and it’s lightweight and manageable again. So happy to have found Henry since we just moved to Hoboken at the start of the year, and everyone knows it’s not home till you have your go to hairdresser!

So I didn’t have a good experience dealing with the receptionist but the stylists were great so I’ll still give them 5 stars! I had a last minute company event to travel to and urgently needed a root touch up and trim. When I called them, she hung up on me a few times and kept asking me to fill a consultation form before she could give me an appointment. I told her their site wasn’t working as I’d already submitted the form a few times and requested she hold a time slot for me but she refused. Anyway, it’s close to my place so I just walked over and a kind gentleman at the salon (he was one of the stylists) instantly offered to accommodate me and took me in as a walk in. Mariela styled my hair, she’s the sweetest and did a great job! I’m grateful they came to my rescue at the last minute, kudos to the team of stylists.

Steph is the best stylist I've ever been to - specifically for blondes. I'm sure she's good at other styles too but I've been getting highlights for a while now and I've tried a lot of salons- Steph listens to what you want and works with you to achieve the results you are looking for. She's super experienced and she knows what she's doing - I can appreciate that she takes her work seriously and cares about the results just as much as me. The salon itself is super cute and cozy- the Aveda products smell amazing and they are top notch. Highly recommend this place!!

I love this place. It’s clean, hygienic, the staff is polite and well organized. The hair dressers clearly know what they are doing and they are doing a great job- just a bit expensive.

When I say Tyler is FABULOUS, I truly mean it. I had a negative experience with another salon which lead me to take my hair into my own hands, well that didn’t turn out to great either so finally decided to search for a salon near me. He fixed my coloring and we will be adding in extensions this coming week, CAN NOT WAIT. He was able to get me to the shades of ashy/glossy/dirty blondeish tones that I showed him my inspo pic of and used his knowledge of hair care and styling to avoid damaging my already damaged hair further. The entire staff and atmosphere has such a chill, relaxed vibe. Normally I’m so uncomfortable in hair salons being that I’m not the most “feminine” woman, but here I felt so welcomed! Will come back to update with photos and will be a loyal client to this wonderful salon!My before and after pics are up, could not be more inLOVE. I'm a new mom and couldn't make it out to my regular salon in the East Village, so I found another Aveda salon in the area. I really liked Henry as a person, but now, a few weeks after the cut and color, I'm increasingly disappointed in the results. The color did not blend well with the color already in my hair and the cut is so choppy that it looks very cheaply done. For $300 plus a 20% tip, I expect far better than this (also, I was quoted $250, but was charged $300). I'm extremely disappointed and a bit embarrassed about how my hair looks and saddened that I wasted so much money. Additionally, they kept pushing getting an extra gloss service on me. My normal Aveda salon never "requires" this step at an extra cost, so it's not an excuse for poor coloring. I definitely won't be returning.
