Please!!! Black people especially, avoid this citizens bank branch in Hoboken at all costs !.It was by far , the worst banking experience I've ever had in my life. It was also thanks to a African woman , whom immediately was rude and condescending upon my partner & I entry . Looks can be deceiving I guess, so I may not look like the typical 750 credit , business owner I am. I have other business accounts keep in mind.My partner & I bring in all our documents for verification to open a business checking. My business is in NJ, my parter lives further in NJ, I'm from NY. So we go to this branch to be scolded and put under a microscope. The African woman tells us " your business address has to be on your state ID to open a business account " how that's possible? I'm not sure my home address is on our state id and our businessis a differentlocation . The lady said she's having trouble verifying the company with the state, we log in to the state website, boom. Information there as provided. Still to give us the run around for me to realize. This is citizens bank, I don't even want citizens bank in my arsenal of elite credit cards for business and personal. I'm never banking in a sundown town again . I've gotten solicited by this low vibrational bank for so long to get discriminated against. I'm very glad I did, it saved me lots of energy.Also black people, the black bankers are the worst towards you because they are mad they have to service you. It's something about seeing black people proper that usually passes off other black people. When your paperwork is in order , Caucasian people will treat you as such , I promise it's your own kind. I'm probably never gonna use a old black banker again .they still suffer from that "mentality " I kindly cut the lady off in the middle of her excuses, & excused my self to go take my business where it's appreciated. Pretty simple.

I spoke with a Chris over the phone at the citizens branch last week in Hoboken. He was so polite and informing. Usually the other branches are not so attentive from my usual experience. I recommend visiting this branch!

Wish I could give 0 stars. Worst bank ever, and mind you I have spent more than 20 years in 3rd world countries.I paid off my mortgage > 2 years ago and still wasting >2 hours every week to get them to close everything.They lost title, lease and lied about it for full 2 years. They haven't removed the lien yet so can't even sell the property.No one picks up the phone, if they do then they say that's not the right department. If it's the right department then they'll confuse you by saying they have don everything that they are supposed to do.DO NOT EVER TAKE A LOAN FROM HERE EVEN IT"S FREE !!!

Took 1hr+ to open a new checking account. Their system was unbelievably slow and loading all the time. The next day they emailed me more doc to sign (apparently because they forgot before) And guess what - the day after that, they told me my account was rejected due to chexSystem failure? One would expect that piece of info at the beginning of the whole process, so that one doesn't need to waste time there.Besides this, their customer emails are full of typos - a pupil could have written better ones. And they weren't able to set up online banking for me just because I had an account with them several years ago... had to call customer service myself to activate the dormant account and link the new account.Yikes. Avoid.

Greatest bank branch I've been to. They close at 7, I came in at 6:50 - they worked with me till 7:30, no rush, patiently. They not only do their job responsibilities efficiently, but also make efforts to know their customers. They are willing to go above and beyond. This is how a bank should be like. All other banks should come in to see how they do business.
