I’ve been a loyal local barre member for 2+ years and was so excited when they opened their new location on Monroe. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my membership due to a negative employee interaction. I attend classes here regularly (3x per week) and have never been tardy before, therefore, unaware of the late policy. I arrived to my 10:45 am class at 10:49 am and was greeted by the 3 women huddled around the check-in desk. I immediately apologized for being tardy and explained the elevator was running slow. One woman took exactly 1 minute to explain why I would not be allowed into class because of the 5 minute grace period. I apologized again and said “well I’m right within that time frame” as I glanced down at my phone reading 10:50 am, gave them my name to check me in and she refused to let me into the class. Again, I was still within their policy and was not given a first time courtesy. I will not be returning.

The best workout option for moms. When they’re younger they offer byobaby classes and when they’re older you can use the nanny service! My one year old loves going because the playroom is fun and the nanny ms Marika is so nice! I’m finally able to exercise without needing to work around my husbands scheduleThe classes are great, all instructors have their own style but I enjoy all of them. I’m sore without being in pain, my posture has improved, and I have lean muscle tone! Also love the compression boots and sparkling water on tapSo happy that they opened this location!

I came here last night for a Rebecca Hefner author event and had an amazing empowering evening! I wasn't sure what to expect but as soon as I stepped inside Local Barre Social, I didn't want to leave. Conceptually, it's much more than a barre studio and actually couldn't believe everything that was included with a day pass:1. Comfortable, sumptuous space in a few rooms for those in search of a quiet work environment or just want a little socialization on those remote work days. The decor is vintage chic and the sofas/chairs are very comfy, complete with afghans to snuggle in.2. Zoom booth - soundproof booth for those needing complete privacy during their zoom, podcast, etc. sessions3. Sparkling water, still water, a couple wines on tap! And ice of course.4. Barre studio with amazing instructors5. Salon area where you can schedule blow outs after workout (extra)6. Inclusive childcare with onsite nannies so you can work out without worry7. Sauna to unwind and detox8. Relaxation and recovery lounge where you can try out the full length compression boots.9. You can get spray tanning if you book in advance (extra)10. Lockers and shower facilities. For February, they are offering 50% off a day pass. I think this is a no-brainer for women wanting a quiet, safe, inspirational space to work or socialize, especially with the free onsite childcare. I am definitely coming back.

Please be cautious of this business, particularly in the Covid environment for both safety/cleanliness concerns and unfair business practice. In particular I would highly advise against purchasing packages and would also advise anyone with health concerns to stay away due to lack of cleanliness. When they closed the studio I had 5 months remaining on my annual membership ($1000). I requested a refund and was unapologetically told no refunds ever. I moved out of the area at the time my package would have expired after being unable to use it for five months with the studio closed. This is not a studio you can confidently purchase any membership or package through - other businesses have not behaved this way in a manner that is on par with theft and it's really unfortunate to see.I will note that the instructors at this studio were lovely women, but from what I understand the management (Jen DeMarco) does not treat or pay them well or fairly. I am all for supporting local business, but not business that takes money from locals or treats staff poorly. Here are local alternatives I would recommend for fitness options where you won't have to worry that you will lose money or get sick (they do not clean the weights, have seen tumbleweed dust balls, etc.) Here are some options that are well run, local businesses that I would more confidently support/recommend:Bar Method @ 86 River StreetFit Foundry @ 1416 Willow AveClub Pilates @1400 Hudson Street

Highly recommend if you're looking for great barre classes. Their instructors are very professional. From the very first class you get used to it so much that you want to come back and train every day. Now I'm at home with a small baby but definitely will be back. Waiting when Local Barre West will be opened

Not only are the classes fun and challenging but the staff conveys the best customer service I have ever encountered. I recently received a gift card but I didn't know how to transfer the amount to my account so I contacted support via email. They answered within a few hours and were wonderfully pleasant and accommodating. I will definitely be returning once the gift card classes run out!

Local barre is the best place for a barre class in Hoboken! The studio is big and clean, and all of the instructors teach challenging but doable classes. They are super attentive and will come around and adjust your form to ensure you are getting the most out of your workout. I look forward to many more classes at local barre!

Got introduced to Local Barre by a friend and I'm loving it. I've taken classes at both locations and they're equally great. All the instructors are very well trained and give you options depending on your level so you can work your way up. Everyone that works here is very friendly and the studio and props are always clean and in great condition.

I started going to Local Barre in January 2020. After being there for 2 months I am loving it. I usually take the Saturday class with Manon and she is great. I am sore after every class! Definitely work it! And if it’s your first time, don’t be shy. Manon makes everyone feel welcome and helps to ensure you’re doing everything correctly in the class to get the most of your workout.

I absolutely love Local Barre! The staff is warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic. Both West and Uptown locations have an incredible vibe and motivate you to be your strongest self. I’ve noticed longer, leaner muscle definition in just a few classes! Such a gem in Hoboken.

I’ve been to local barre a number of times with my baby girl while on maternity leave for the BYOB classes. This is a great studio and location - with friendly instructors and front desk staff. I’ve recommended to all my new mommy friends.
