This branch racially discriminated against my boyfriend. We went to this branch on Friday morning 11/29/24 to withdraw $2000 bc my boyfriend’s m&t card was having issue. We were greeted by Brandon at the bank and he was getting my boyfriend’s information from the computer at his desk to withdraw the money. He then told his he’ll be right back with the money. We waited almost 40 minutes for this withdrawal. The female head teller and Brandon were going through the account thoroughly checking every deposit and withdrawal from my boyfriend’s account. First, Brandon came back out and asked my boyfriend why he is in the Hoboken branch when he lives in NY. Secondly, Brandon also asked where did a $48,000 deposit come from that he had on his account. Lastly, the female head teller lied to my boyfriend saying they were having issues with their system when in reality they were going through every transaction in his account. All this inconvenience was done by the female head teller who was sending Brandon to ask those questions. Brandon even admitted when we finally got the money that the reason why it took so long was because my boyfriend wasn’t a familiar face to the branch and they had to check his account. Also my boyfriend had mentioned he may want to open a business account with m&t and Brandon said “yes come back, let us see your face more often so that the 30 minute wait could go down to a 2 minute wait.” I’ve never heard of such a thing from a bank to do that. My boyfriend is black and doesn’t fit the description of a majority Caucasian Hoboken neighborhood. My boyfriend has gone to different branches of M&T bank all over NY and never had an issue withdrawing money.

We had an excellent experience with knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic staff. It was challenging to have my Dad's collection evaluated for estate purposes, James McCartney provided expertise and compassion as he respectfully, organized and assessed the collection while educating us. We are inspired to keep the collection going and our relationship with Stacks & Bowers. They are completely relateable, respectful and with a deep knowledege base no matter what level collector you are. I highly recommend!

on 01/24/2023 went to deposit cash using Atm some of the bills were rejected and got jammed then walked inside to bring to bankers attention and it was worst service ever stay away from this branch in particularly as they're no help!!!

When to the M&T bank on Bayview and Ocean ave and the teller that waited on me was rude and disrespectful her name is melissa. And once the transaction was over Iwalked out of the bank the half way to my next destion I realize the witch didnt give me my card back as I go back to her and ask for for my card she looked at me with a smirk on her ugly ass face with the card in her hand the she hand it to me. I took my card and gave her so.e choice words. With thief being one of them

Rude service. I have a mortgage and a heloc loan with M&T and when I went to this branch in January the rep there literally yelled at me to sit away from their desk. I had never been there before.

I took all my cash out when I was here, so now it's just MT Bank. This bank really saved my butt because I was about to travel into New York City and realized that I had less than $50 cash. For somebody that does not like to use credit cards and who spends ridiculous amounts trying 30 different things every single day when in New York City and who mostly goes to places that don't accept credit cards anyway....... that was a really stupid mistake. Luckily this bank was here to give me the cash I needed. And of course no ATM fee because I am actually an account holder here. It also happens to be right around the corner from some of the best delis in the world not just in the region. The only reason for the low-ish rating is the annoying fees they charge, for example if you don't use your account for X number of days there's a fee. I mean, really. I mean... really?

Terrific neighborhood bank. I've been doing business there for 10+ years, from back when it was Hudson City Savings. When M&T took over they kept some of the old staff and the switch over was as easy as they could make it. I value personal relationships, familiar folks that know you, and genuine helpfulness. I get it all here. Okay, maybe not the first thing I look for in a financial institution, but this place has personality. Sorry to hear about Ken's experience, but for me it's been just about the exact opposite.

Extremely rude teller, went in to cash in some small bills and the teller would not do it because I did have an account with them. She basically laughed me out of the bank. I would never do business there.
