No issues with the intake process however there is lack of staff and poor patient care. My son came in for a cut on his head. No one attended to him for hours and didn't even take care of his wound. the ER doctor walked around and didn't even see my son until I complained. He said there was nothing he could do and that the on call surgeon was busy and could not take care of this. They didn't redirect us to a hospital that could help, leaving my wife to call around to find a hospital that could help. We ended up going to CHOP and they were shocked that they took my son in and discharged him without cleaning or bandaging his cut. My son had trama to head and no examination or imaging was done. The worst part is they billed my insurance as if they did something. no one looked at or addressed my son with care other then completing paper work and billing my insurance, (insurance fraud). Complete waste of time and money with no sympathy. Worst hospital experience.

I had a terrible experience last week with the male nurse. He was using the ultrasound to put in an IV. After a few mins of not getting it it was really starting to hurt. I told him more than a few times I needed a minute and then I started to tell him to STOP. Not only did he yell at me and say “do you know how many times a week I do this” he then put down the machine and he put his hand on me to restrain me from moving. My husband was there thankfully and once I yelled at him he threw his stuff and just left. You CAN NOT physically restrain someone when you tell them to stop. No and stop me no and stop!!! Period point blank!!!! I take that as assault!!!! I would hate for this to happen to an elderly person or someone who is alone and can’t defend themselves. This is not to complain because I already made a report. This odd to simply warn ppl so they know what they are walking into. I would hate for this to happen to someone else.

My daughter was discharged from the ER this morning . The Dr and staff was great .But I called back explaining my daughter needed a prescription for the meds that she must take this morning. Until I’m able to find a specialist it’s vital that she takes meds . I was on hold for over 27 minutes for them to return to the call for me to explain why I’m calling again .I was frustrated and annoyed I ended the call .I was surprised that the ER room ,being how important the situation was left me on hold for over 27 min . Disappointing!!!

Extremely disappointed that i went in for severe stomach pain and the dr looked at me with his eyes touched my stomach in 3 places and said your fine you have leaky gut and gas take a probiotic and change your diet. No concern that i have orange urine and said”just drink more fluids” got zero blood work, no ultrasound, no pee test, no fluids when i was straight told i was dehydrated. Now i have to go to riverview the next day in hopes they take their FEMALE PATIENTS more serious.

I cannot praise HCM ENOUGH!Everyone in the ER ON 2/9 was so professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I cannot thank IRENE V. RN, my ER nurse enough for being the absolute best. After being admitted and a room was ready I was greeted by ANNA, blonde hair, my nurse with a welcoming and warm smile. My tech a tall male was so nice, sorry I forgot your name. On 2/9?after Anna’s shift was completed I had a horrible nurse, MAGGIE, a young nurse with blonde hair. I had many questions, and she did not to be bothered to answer my concerns. I had an IV in my arm, bc they were taking blood from me multiple times. She came in to draw blood and was trying to get it through the vein in my hand . When I questioned why she was not taking it from my IV she stated this was more accurate. I told her they took it previously from my IV she stormed out and got what she had to to get it from my IV.. The next shift I had a wonderful nurse named Angelica, dark hair. She was so caring, professional, and knowledgeable Kudos, to Bri and Alyssa the techs who did my ECHO. Thank you to Dr Garg my cardiologist. I also tested positive for COVID when I was there and was on the COVID floor room 332I am editing review to 1 star due to the billing and quality of my CT scan. I still think i got excellent care in the ER.AS FAR AS THE BILLING, HORRENDOUS AND IMCOMPETENT!!!!!when i was admitted and I explained the is my hospitalization card and this is the card for physician billing. I received a text that I owed $1900 dollars. I gave them the correct information and continued to get texts stating I owed the money. I had to then call and correct this. My visit to the ER was 2/9/24. I then get a bill that my insurance denied my CTA scan and I owed $2600. What???? I called my insurance company and found out they billed the wrong insurance AGAIN!!! Then I told my insurance company I was billed $200 for a copay before I could have the test. My insurance company told me they were not allowed to bill me and never heard of that. For this test I would have only had a $15 copay and 10% co-insurance which should have not been billed prior, but I should not have been billed anything until insurance paid. HOW DO YOU DO THIS!!!! Here is another issue which is totally UNACCEPTABE. MY CT SCAN, WHICH IS RADIATION, STATES POOR IMAGE QUALITY AND SUBOPTIMAL HEART RATE!!! In the report it states that there were artifacts which obstructed things my dr needed to see, movement, which I heard my dr said I did not move. As for the suboptimal heart rate, I keep asking if I needed the monopropol to lower the heart rate and they said I was fine. Hackensack Meridian started these scans on March as I was told when booking. Obviously, they were not trained appropriately. I am hoping someone will contact me on this matter. The test was performed on 3/11/2024

The worst Hospital possibly in the USA . My dad was a patient here he was 93 , they kept him on bed rest fo 7 day’s then tried to get him up to walk ! What’s wrong with them being so clueless? You kept an elderly in be and got him up without any Warning, NO Physical therapy, took out his foley and asked him to urinate on DEMAND. I also worked here for 1 month in the ICU what a Joke , the Hospital has no standards like it’s 1965 . Do yourself a Favor drive to NYC you are only about 45 miles away .

Had an extremely close call this past Super Bowl Sunday. Was a life-threatening situation but thanks to the OUTSTANDING care delivered by Dr. Joanna Akinlosotu and her ER nursing team of Sarah, Esmerelda and Christina, everyone's alive and kickin'. (Plus a special shout-out to ICU Nurse Dana, who went above and beyond, and to the entire Bayshore crew.) Eternally grateful to all...

Everyone has been amazing. The free parking with optional valet makes it easy for visitors.Ask for access to MyChart if you are interested in seeing medical update notes. Some notes may have a 24hr delay while other minor updates are a couple of hours. While communications are frequent, sometimes procedure schedules are not the most recent. It helps to ask the floor duty nurse and get the latest news.It is a good idea to provide a phone to your family member. They have 120v outlets for charging phones.

HNH Bayshore Medical CenterI had an accident and could hardly move and was taken to the Bayshore Medical Center. I was in excruciating painJoseph RN my ER nurse, he put an IV line and I did even feel the stick. He was very professional. He explained to me everything he was about to do for me. The best nurse ever. I didn’t want to leave ER because I was getting an excellent care. I was admitted and that excellent care didn’t stop. I realized I was in a very caring and professional environment and that was consistent throughout the hospital.Everyone was caring, supportive, respectful and friendly. I felt at home and my pain was managed immaculately by all of the nurses. Dr. Oni, the Orthopedic doctor, explained the X -ray to me and told me that I didn’t need any surgery. I was transferred to Riverview Medical Center for rehabilitation. I would definitely recommend Bayshore Medical Center to everyone. Bayshore Medical Center is the best of the best. It’s a definitely 5 star hospital.

Our experience at Bayshore was mediocre at best until we met Dr Lauren Fischer, general surgeon. My mother was admitted to bayshore after suffering what we found out was a gallbladder attack at home. She stayed hospitalized for 4 days and every doctor we encountered said my mother would not be leaving the hospital without surgery to remove it. It was so infected she was also suffering from acute pancreatitis and elevated liver enzymes from the infected state of the gallbladder and multiple gallstones. While every doctor we encountered was very nice, communication between doctors was poor and the biggest error they made was not taking my mother off off plavix and aspirin knowing full well she needed surgery, yet it is necessary to be off of anticoagulents for at least 5 days prior to surgery. So once all tests cleared her for gallbladder removal surgery, the schedule was up to Dr Fischer. She said she could not do surgery bc my mom was not taken off plavix for 5 days, but also never offered to do surgery the following week. Instead Dr Fischer told me she was discharging my mother and would do surgery in late February/early March (4-6 weeks away) because in not so many words, she’s booked. After being discharged from Bayshore, I took my mother for a second opinion, because nothing seemed right, to a renowned surgeon out of riverview hospital. My mother had surgery a few days later and we were told the gallbladder was so gangrenous that had she been forced to wait just one week longer, she would be dead from sepsis. I would never recommend anyone to Dr Fischer- in fact I will warn them. We are grateful she didn’t operate on my mother after all because she is clearly a negligent and irresponsible physician by all accounts. And I will also tell everyone to stay away from Bayshore and will never go back there again. The silver lining is, my mom is still with us. Our terrible experience at Bayshore ended her up in the care of a highly intelligent and qualified surgeon and excellent care from all at riverview.

Not only was I misdiagnosed in the ED (after presenting with every single hallmark symptom of the illness I came in to be seen for) and was dismissed out of hand, but the person who checked me in acknowledged that she had no idea how to enter my insurance information and told my husband that I would likely have to deal with billing at a later date--which I am now in the middle of. Absolutely terrible service.

Just left and I gotta say this was one of the best experiences I've ever had at any hospital! I walked in and got processed immediately less than 5-10 mins I was in a room. In and out in less than 2 hrs! With tests run and blood work, urine the works. Shoutout to the great friendly team that took care of me Vincent, Russell, Linda, ultrasound techs (I forget their names sry!) and Dr. Akinlosotu. You were all incredibly efficient and professional with a sensitive issue I am having. Will definitely be my hospital of choice in the future for any and all medical issues!
