The Bear and the Books is a charming children’s book shop and wonderful gem of a bookstore in the lovely town of Hopewell. It is a warm and wonderful house of books with a comfy atmosphere, featuring little Easter egg critters hidden around the store. The owner is incredibly thoughtful, lovely, and helpful. She stocks many unique books and is selective in her curation. She offers incredibly thoughtful and spot-on recommendations, helping to find the perfect book based on age and interests, including for teens and young adults. This kind of personal service, where she can seemingly anticipate what a visitor needs, is not found at chain stores. Chatting with the owner is in itself worth the visit. She also provides gift wrap at no charge. Visitors highly recommend treating yourself to a lengthy stay, as every shelf warrants a day's visit.
