I wrote a letter to LA Fitness of Howell Mangement hoping to get some sort of reply. Its been some 30 days and they did not respond. As a result, I will post my constructive feedback here.I have been a member of LA Fitness for maybe a 1 ½ years. I am a transplant from Retro Fitness of Howell. The reason I left Retro is because their gym is way too small for all the people who subscribe to it. Since I am now retired, I joined your gym because of the space and pool access. Other than that, I would still be at Retro. I have some constructive criticisms and I hope you will take it to account.There are many reasons I loved Retro, but a few stand out. First is they are right around the corner and easy to get to for when I worked. Second is, they continuously requested customer feedback on how they were doing and actually used it when it was good feedback. And lastly, they ensured gym goers followed rules by posting signs and monitoring people. You are not close (not that this is a problem now), you do not ask for customer feedback, and you do not enforce or post gym rules where they are noticeable, at least not to what I’ve seen. So, here are some constructive criticisms I hope you will ponder and maybe even implement:1. Send out emails to get customer feedback – I get it, people are different these days and you may end up getting a lot of non-serious feedback. However, that can be sorted and discarded, and you can really consider serious feedback. For instance, if you had a monthly or bi-annual feedback process you would know that there is an infestation of lady bugs in your gym.2. Post signs of gym rules such as wiping down equipment and removing weights off equipment and returning them to their racks. I have had to move heavy weights from equipment because many inconsiderate males do not. Since it is heavy, I do not put it back on the rack, I leave it on the floor by the equipment. I have also seen small females having difficulty removing heavy weights as well. Posting signs may help as it may shame some people into following gym etiquette. Monitoring on occasion certainly helps.3. You really should have more than one piece of gym accessory equipment like bosu balls, weighted bars, etc. It appears to me, for some strange reason, the accessory equipment like bosu balls and weighted bars are only in the Training Room, indicating that equipment is not for use for the general gym population. I was even told to bring the bosu ball back to the Training Room when done, that’s ridiculous. You are a franchise gym, you really should have more than one of any gym workout accessories; Retro (a small gym compared to yours) had several of each, including bands.4. Finally, your walls imply that only slim, white people workout. Please do not take this as me making a race issue of this. I’m African American and I workout at your gym as well as countless other African Americans, Asians, etc. However, this is not reflective of what’s on the walls at your gym. The proof in the pudding is that you only have a different race on the walls in the basketball Room, can you guess the race?? Reconsider adding different ethnicity just for inclusion purposes.5. I provided you my contact information in the letter I sent you and you are still welcomed to contact me if you feel the need.

Howell NJ:Filthy, filthy, filthy, machines out of service for months, did I mention how filthy it is? I saw the same hair on a machine for over a year, ooof.If you can obtain a carabiner please let me know. They finally adjusted the clocks 2 weeks before daylight savings.

Assistant manager Phil was awesome the entire staff is super friendly and really helped me work towards my fitness goals Howell la fitness is a must go to location I always work out there and will definitely be back great work guys

Great space with sufficient machine options. The bathroom/ changing rooms were clean.The machines and floors could use more vacuuming.I did not like that they kept charging my senior citizen father for private training sessions when he had made multiple attempts to cancel. They refused to refund him the multi-year worth of charges. They did eventually give him two years work a free training session.I also found their fitness trainers to be hot cold, some were really helpful, others were a bit dismissive.I've been going to la fitness gyms since 2017. It's a really good franchise.

The new General Manager Dan is working hard to make the gym a great place again. Over the last few years the gym had really went down hill. Dan has hired new staff and making sure that it opens on time.

Decent sized gym, lots of equipment and even at peak time it is not too busy
