I’m mixed on writing this review. I love Once upon a child and reusing clothing. First the good: They have tons of clothes in excellent condition including coats and holiday clothes. Tons of adorable baby and girl clothing!
For me personally it wasn’t the best experience. I went early on a weekday to try to sell items after failing to sell at another location due to long wait times in the afternoon. Despite arriving at opening and only bringing one bag of clothes I was told there would be a 45 minute wait because one person got in right before me and kept coming back with more bags. I understand they can’t help this, and I made the best of it shopping with my toddler in my stroller. But the isles were VERY packed making it impossible to really move through the store with a stroller. Shoes were all mixed up and nearly impossible to find the right sizes so I had to give up. It was disappointing they had so much for girls and only one small corner for boys as I don’t have any girls so it limited my shopping experience. Finally, when I got my stuff back from selling the bag was still full. I didn’t ask why as my little guy was tired and I needed to leave but overall I’d say I definitely won’t sell to them again.
Maybe they’re looking for something specific based on the needs of their location? I wish they would post that info in advance as that would be helpful to know! They took multiple bags from another person and it seems like they wanted more girl stuff and seasonal despite the site saying they take all seasons.
3 stars because they do have good stuff for babies and girls. They lost stars because of the lack of transparency with sellers, and the difficulty navigating the store.

I went with my kids on a Saturday morning we loved it they got Halloween costumes, a bunch of clothes.
I went through my kids old clothes over the weekend and went today 9/13 to sell a bunch of clothes and shoes. I called yesterday to make sure they are taking summer , fall , winter items they said yes
Which they were all the brand names they say they buy ( carter's, nike, 365kids, ect)
I brought 6 bags with boy/girls clothes all different sizes. They told me a half hour, I dropped them off and went back with my sick daughter to just take the 6 bags back home with me. I didn't expect them to take everything but they hardly took anything which is a shame people could use the clothes and items. I guarantee they didn't even look at everything in the bags. I will never sell to this location again and waste gas ! I will try the Edison location like the other reviews people leave. Thank you.

Waited an hour for them to take almost nothing. Their explanation was they don’t take worn out or stained clothing, none of which we had. When my daughter picked up a pristine Nike sleeper the owner said oh we probably should’ve taken that one, which leads me to believe they didn’t really look through the clothes. We were then told onesies don’t sell well without the pants. But the onesies we had weren’t sold as a set. Anyway the staff was pretty dismissive so we’ll be going to the Edison location.

Just go to Edison!! I tried coming here because it’s closer but take the drive. They definitely did not look through the 4 bags of clothes I brought. I didn’t expect a lot of the toys I brought to be accepted, but they took more toys than clothes and they were filthy! Even when I addressed them about the amount of clothes they didn’t take (nike adidas, RL polo, even balenciaga & milano!!!!! what!!!!!!!) the manager looked at the onesie I held up and said “oh yeah we probably should’ve taken that”. Then she said they wouldn’t take the onesies (which were never worn and purchased from THEM) because the pants weren’t with them. They didn’t come with pants!!!!!! I bought 100+ items and got $30 as opposed to the $50+ I get at the other location. The rudeness was the cherry on top, not returning.

Horrible Experience! Staff took forever to go through the items we were selling and then offered a ridiculously low price. The manager wouldn't pick up her phone when her employee was calling her to discuss the offer because she was too busy eating at home. Ridiculous! Sell on Marketplace and avoid this place. We should have read some of these reviews before we went so don't make the same mistake we did!

Always a good time sorting through. Made 50 off sell backs and put it towards new clothes for my 3 month old! Great place! So much to choose from.

I’ve been there a few times and don’t ACCEPT anything we were trying to sell even though their website says otherwise. We had a brand new tags on bathtub and the lady with red hair rudely told us they don’t accept it, I’ve brought in 4 items and they don’t accept anything , customer service was horrible too. All the workers do is talk and ignore the customer until you talk to them first

They have pretty good clothing for kids.. although most clothing is geared for younger kids you get some that are really good.. 16 yr olds and younger can shop here! They have sports gear, cleats etc. Also bathing suits and toys for kids! You can’t forget the good price drop on your favorite clothing! It’s always a steal shopping at Once Upon A Child..

Rude. Didn't even look at my clothes and made me stand around for an hour before I finally went up and asked if they were done they shuffled a few shirts at the top but barely looked at anything. Didn't look at me , wasn't nice , scoffed. Check your employees maybe get some kind workers to make the expierience better

I dropped off a good amount of clothing and accessories and got a decent amount back—more than I expected! Jen was very helpful and friendly and while she went through my items I took my time checking out the store. There is a ton of inventory and lots of brand new items with tags on! I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for fancy girl attire I saw lots of adorable dresses with tags.

I’ve had several really good experiences at this once upon a child. The manager Jennifer is very helpful and the staff that I’ve met have all gone the extra mile to accommodate me.

I am a frequent consumer (seller/buyer) of the Once Upon A Child Howell location for that past 5 years.
I've never had any real issues with the store until today, prior to I would rave about the great deals, and quality items the store offers.
A typical busy Saturday morning for this location, as I'm making a drop off of 2 construction grade black bags filled with toys, clothing, and sneakers, as I wait I'm shopping, once done I stand in check out for about 20-30 minutes. Once I met with the cashier whom explains out of the items they're buying from me, it amounts to $4.25. I asked why they aren't purchasing any of my clothing items which included Children's Place, Carter's, Air Jordan, Converse ect, and the store manager proceeds to explain in front of the store that they aren't going to purchase any clothing, or sneakers from me because of a foul odor, and how all items must be laundered prior to selling, and that they didn't go through even half of my items. I inturn asked her to show me what clothing has a odor, as everything has been washed. I smell the clothes, she spoke of, and smelt NOTHING. To confirm I asked another mom to smell, and she also smelt NOTHING.
At this point I am embarrassed, and furious, and told Jen how she is out of line, and should know how to talk to customers. Jen proceeded to ask me " for educational purposes" what other word she could use?; condescending. It isn't my job to teach the manager proper costumer service etiquette.
Next, Jen tells me the clothes were outdated (2023). Jen pick an issue, and stick with it! I left the store confused, embarrassed, and belittled.
I know what the issue truly is, being that I never have an issue with any other staff member at this location. Very sad.
I took those same "smelly, outdated" items to the Once Upon a Child @ Edison, had 0 issues, and was treated with respect.
Once Upon A Child @ Edison now has a new customer! Anyone shopping in Howell whom is a Person of Color BEWARE!!! SMH it's 2024, and alive, and well! Shame on you Jen!

I had a terrible experience going to this location. I had my daughter/ stroller with me and had clothes, a bassinet and a few infant seats. I didn’t expect to get much for the seats if anything but my bassinet was in perfect condition and new clean nice clothes. I had to put it together in this small space right in front of the door while people are coming in and out. The staff were so unhelpful and claimed they couldn't take the bassinet because it had one small stain under the mattress. I found some wipes and cleaned it off completely and the stain was gone. My daughter never had an accident, nothing was spilled but yes it was used!! Everything for a second-hand store would be used! Afterwards the woman said now she wouldn’t take it because I got it wet and it needed to dry to make sure those were not new stains that suddenly appeared 5 min later. After I spent 45 min trying to put together and then take apart this bassinet while my daughter fussed, they finally offered me 3 dollars for 4 pieces of clothing. Like if they’re not accepting new items just say that? I called earlier in the week to make sure they were taking the items I had too. This bassinet would have absolutely sold no problem. I think they hoped I would get frustrated and leave it there for them to get all the profit. What a waste of time. I will never shop here and tell everyone I know to avoid them.
Also not a single one of the 4/5 employees offered to help me even open the door while I brought everything with my daughter back to the car. So rude and unhelpful.
