Rented a car from this location and had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had—David was phenomenal. He greeted me with a smile, made the rental process quick and smooth, and had me out in less than five minutes. As a regular renter, I can say it’s rare to come across someone so helpful and professional. Alamo should be proud to have him on the team. Keep it up, David!

The service at this station in Jersey City was very good. He took enough time to explain everything to us and answer all questions. He seemed very competent and was very kindly. Just the parking situation was difficult there, but we got lucky to park the car. The car itself was in good shape and we were pretty satisfied with it. Would definitely rent a car again at Almano!

Neither good not bad, just meh. The service is hit or miss, the cars (depending on the market) are rarely cleaned to the level on expects. An example, in NJ, I splurged and rented an Audi, pay premium and you would expect the car to be cleaned. I was wrong on my interpretation of what clean was. Multiple makeup bottles and trash around the car and under the seats, windows were not cleaned, and the body of the car had an oily residue (cleaner that is sprayed to make the car look like it eas washed). I brought the makeup up with the front desk and they were clueless on what I was trying to share with them.
I wish their app would provide more details, and customer satisfaction before you reserve the vehicle.

The price was right and the staff really friendly and polite. The car was also clean and new. An added bonus was after hours return which very few places in NYC or close to NYC offer. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars, however, since the last one hour of the rental was frustrating thanks to the location of the place. Let's say that the location is very convenient for people living in NYC who want to get to it via PATH. Driving to it - not so much. Not by a long shot. First of all, Jersey City manages to be an city not designed for cars - while at the same time not being pedestrian friendly either. The road system is horrible. Then, once you get to the Alamo location, it was next to impossible to find the garage. Basically, by the time you drive up to the front door of the rental place, you've already PASSED the garage, and then you have to turn around a maze of awful one way streets that are filled with Holland Tunnel traffic just to get back. Then, once back, it is confusing which opening is the one for the correct garage. There are two buildings next to each other with look alike garages and none is marked as the one for Alamo returns (Alamo told me that city regulations would not allow it in a residential area). Even the correct garage had confusing three openings and only the first one was the one for the garage (the others lead to a loading dock). Seeing the other comments, it seems many others have been frustrated by the confusing layout of this neighborhood and the lack of markings for the garage. I actually drove the car all the way up into the wrong garage! Fortunately, I called Alamo and the friendly front desk attendee talked me through how to find the correct garage. While the terrible street layout of this neighborhood and the lack of signage may not be Alamo's fault, I suggest that they forewarn people about this (especially those who may be returning after hours) and provide a detailed map or coordinates for a GPS to save people a lot of stress.

Totally unclear how to access the drop off point. The company clearly doesn’t care. The only way we found it was looking at angry Google reviews from 3 years ago. Not using Alamo again as a result.
Note the unhelpful response from their team. What a joke.

You just made us waste our time!!! We called and ask to make sure we could use our debit card, we even precised where to pick it up and you said yes, we could use our debit card.
We go to the office and then you tell us we cannot? We planned our whole day cause we were sure to be able to rent your car. And now we're stuck here trying to find another solution.

A lot of people mentioned that it is hard to find the return location, but I think this is not an issue now. They even sent an email with google map photo to show the return location. Everything is good. I got an upgrade to SUV and the car is very new with only ~2000 miles. The manager is super helpful and even called me for my lost bag. Would come back again!

We Booked a Time for 12pm but when we reached there we realized there is not anywhere to pick our Car because the office is Closed they dont have any alternative so when you faced such situation is better to go to their Open Alamo Office rather to reach to pick your Car at Closer Office. They will not inform you anything you needed to find out yourself, or You can Call Customer Service .

Dropped off on Memorial Day. The experience was horrible. There is no temporary parking spot near the store. I spent 5 minutes on finding a parking spot. It’s closed on that day, which is understandable. However, they didn’t tell me how to return the car when the store is closed. I got some instructions at the front door of the store. I have to go to a garage then. They didn’t tell me that I should get a ticket to enter the garage, and that the drop box is at the top of the building. I figure them all out by myself.

The agency is easy to find, the welcome is very professional. But frankly what a hassle to return the car after opening hours. Impossible to open the garage door and impossible to remember if anyone had explained anything to us. So we waited (not very long honestly) for a resident to arrive with his car and open the door. We followed him and everything ended well.

On my booking confirmation, the only address listed for returning the rental car was 110 1st St, which is where I was going. I then had to drive around the block to get to the correct entrance via the desk clerk's instructions, why isn't this stated correctly in the booking?
And even though I still returned the rental car within the booking deadline, I was charged an extra day (USD 184.05) and debited from my credit card. From November 2002 to the beginning of March 2023, I have had repeated correspondence, first with the Alamo headquarters, from where I was referred to the Jersey City station, and then with this one, but no one really feels responsible and I am always just put off.
An impudence! Never again Alamo!
