Absolutely beautiful job hemming a bunch of pants and shortening some suit jacket sleeves. They were able to shorten the sleeves from the wrist (instead of the shoulder) which is much more affordable. They even sewed the buttons that they had to remove back on, above the remaining functional buttons, so I still have the full look of the original sleeves. Reasonable prices and great service.

Very good work but pricey compared to my old tailor in NYC. Moved to NJ just don’t want to go all the way to ludlow st. Actually, the difference in cost would be my carfare to NY so….

Have lived in JC for going on 4 years and I can say with confidence their craftsmanship has completely declined. I’ve had many things altered by them and I will no longer use them for any type of alteration. They don’t care about the final product with this type of butcher work. It’s unfortunate.

I’ve taken a few items that needed alterations to this place over the past three years, but the quality of work has definitely declined. I've never seen a place hem the bottom of a shirt right at the buttonhole, especially when I specifically marked it past the hole, and the owner even put a pin above it. They lack attention to detail in communication, and the stitches aren’t as delicate as they used to be

Great place with incredibly helpful staff. The tailor is out of this world - she can work from patterns, pictures or ideas and better yet executes flawlessly. I cannot recommend them enough!

I’ve done simple alterations with them before, and it worked out fine. But the last time my pants came back a whole 1.5 inches shorter than what I asked for. All that before an international trip and the pants were part of a linen ensemble I intended to wear. Because they came out so short, now I can’t even repair them, they’re basically spoiled. And mind you that I stood there trying them on, giving specific instructions for the alteration - what’s the point of coming in and speaking to a person if your request is going to be ignored and your item ruined anyway?

I am not sure what is happening. But they don’t take phone calls.

I wanted to clean my coat, which had 4-5 dirty spots. When I received it back, I noticed multiple new spots where the original ones had been.
The owner calmly and politely explained that the old spots were removed, but new water marks appeared during the cleaning process. He mentioned that dry cleaning cannot remove water marks.
He assured me, as a professional dry cleaner, that this is a normal result and perfection shouldn't be expected. He also suggested that perhaps I hadn't noticed these spots before, implying it wasn't their responsibility.
In the end, he said the best way to avoid such situations is simply not to have spots in the first place.
Second attempt made the result even worse, adding more new spots.
Here are some photos of these spots. It's up to you to decide if you want to try this place or not. Good luck!

Although Mr. and Mrs. Kim are both lovely people, and I just spent just under $1000 with them for alterations and dry cleaning before two lengthy international trips, they did not honor, monitor or follow through on my request to keep garments on separate hangers with each item in separate plastic because I had to pack up 5 different suitcases for 3 different people.
I also confirmed with Mr. Kim that this had been done before I ever picked up the garments, but unfortunately I was misled. They had had packed 2-3 garments under each set of plastic, which meant that my husband and I were up until 4 in the morning undoing that damage and having to separate everything out into their respective suitcases, without the anti-wrinkle benefits the plastic would have provided in many cases.
So I will not be returning as a customer; I can't risk being misled about important requests again and being told that they were honored when no one there even bothered to check if that was true.

Works ok as long as you are lucky and the company they outsource to does not screw up. I recommend not using this place if you have anything of value. The first time something wrong happened they start gaslighting and accusing the customer, without any accountability. Won’t see me again for sure.

Came here to get a shirt hemmed up, got it back completely uneven on the bottom. Ruined the shirt, don’t go here

Been to this business before and got a good job done by a very nice older woman a few years ago. Came there again recently to do a simple hem trim for my bridesmaids dress in the morning, asked if possible to do NEXT day noon, which didn’t seem to be impossible for a simple hem trim. The stuff was incredibly rude! First, a tall man (who appeared to be the owner and went by “Mr”) laughed in my face after I said what I wanted to be done. Then he spoke back and forth with one of his employees about it, she kept shouting “THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!” That stressed me out a little. Then they decided that they can do it after all. Why should you do it to your customers? All I was thinking “who the f do you think you are?” There is 0 customer service there now. I paid 50$ for it, and they didn’t even iron it. Never going back.
