When you get the suburban itch to jump in your car and grocery shop (or anything shop) without the long walk home, this place is a real oasis. In my opinion, it's clean and well organized and has everything you could be looking for. Groceries? I've gotten everything on my list here. Present for little kids? Check! Rugs and baskets and sheet sets? Check, check and check. Things for work like gift bags, note cards, etc. They've got it. You know and love Target, so I won't go on. Sure, it can get super busy on the weekend, but the parking lot is huge. If you can, go during the week to beat the crowd and the veryyyyyyy long self service line. And maybe don't hold out too much hope that you'll find an employee walking around if you need help. But otherwise, no complaints!

I've been coming to this Target location in Jersey City for years. It's conveniently located which makes it very easy for me to do some last minute Christmas shopping. Don't want to keep reading? Here's your takeaway from this review "DON'T BUY GIFT CARDS HERE" In October, I purchased a $100 gift card for my coworker for her Birthday present. Like most individuals, it might take a month to actually find the time or need to use one. Upon giving the gift card in for a purchase she was told that the card is already in use and has a $0 balance. Thinking we could easily remedy this with the saved receipt, original credit card used for purchase, and a relatively short time from purchase to "use", we brought it back to this Target. The returns attendant called for manager assistance and we were flat out told that there's nothing they can do. "Call the number on the back" is what she stated. This is absolutely unacceptable and frankly, I'm embarrassed that my present to someone turned out this way. It's the Holiday season. If you're going to target, sure, buy an actual item; but DON'T BUY GIFT CARDS. They have no local contingency plans and will turn you away while someone else is spending your money. It's more than enough for me not to want to come back. Do they care that they lost a customer. Probably not, but this isn't how business should be conducted. Zero effort to escalate or find resolution.

Literally called four departments to try to just ask a simple question about a product it's currently 1:40pm today and the only department that picked up was a young lady in Human resources she said she would help but put me on hold never came back and when I called back immediately she obviously wouldn't pick up the phone I guess because she recognized my number on caller ID mind you I have not shopped in Target for Over 5 or more years and it's no wonder why Target of Jersey City Terrible Terrible Terrible!! Especially that young lady in Human Resources I will not shop here for another 5 years thanks for your terrible Customer Service. What department should I have called Starbucks!!! Thanks for Nothing Target!

The lines for self checkout are so long. There is almost no one working the other check out lines. Management, wake up and either hire more people for checkout or install more self checkout machines.

Target has lost any respect they once had for their customers. No longer are their cashiers waiting to ring you up and get you out. No longer are there hand baskets to carry your chosen items around in. No longer can I walk into this store and expect to spend less time waiting to check out than I actually did shopping--AND FOR THOSE REASONS--I'M OUT. I suggest you never go back either.

Had to grab some diapers, juice and other household items. Able to find everything easily, and this Target has an Ulta which was such a treat. Able to get some beauty items as well.

This is a good place if you need to get some quick items on a Thursday Or a Friday night you just need to be nicer to stores like Target stop treating it so badly. The workers try to provide you with everything they need and they stock the aisles really nicely. That's what's in the photo exact people treating stores like crap when it's not even the workers fault just do it nicely. And stop treating every various store badly.

Target always offers a satisfying shopping experience. It's my favorite place to shop for toiletries because their prices are more affordable than drug stores and they tend to have a good selection. On this trip, I also got their moose tracks store brand ice cream. I am not a big ice cream fan but I tried this variety a few years ago and fell in love with it. They have since rebranded it. It used to come in a red and black tub but it's now brown and white. It's not quite as good but still tasty, with caramel ice cream and lots of chocolate chunks. We also spent a good amount of time in their children's department looking for gifts for a 1 year old and 5 year old. They had a pretty good selection. Their toys were very reasonably priced and they had a ton of cute clothes for kids, especially for the summer.

This target in Jersey City is great, well located with ample parking and easy access, a few things don't work well there anymore, and they used to not too long ago, 1. There's almost no chance to find help anywhere other then the front of the store 2. Lack of cashiers make lines long 3. Self checkouts don't accept cash lately 4. Half the self checkout station don't even work This makes the shopping experience not to great Maybe if the person in charge sees my comments and take's them seriously, everybody will have a nicer shopping experience there

There is NEVER anything in stock. I'll specifically go for items that are indicated as in stock on the app...only to find empty shelves. Especially in beauty and food items. The produce selection sucks as well, and I've found mold or fruit flies in most of the packaged items. Staff are not helpful fetching items either. I even avoid weekends and have visited at various hours of the day, during the week and it's still bleak. I don't understand because this Target is huge with so much potential. These days, I'd rather go to the Herald Sq location, which is saying a lot. Two stars for the left side of the store only.

This Target has improved tremendously since my previous review 4 years ago! Would suggest opening both self checkout areas instead of having one area open and a huge line.

I've never seen lines like this! There were so many people and only a handful of registers open. I've been to Targets across the country and this is not seem like normal practice.

(Shopped 12/21/21 TU @ 10:00am): This location was on target with my sensibilities of how I felt this brand should be! My friend needed some domestic products while I was visiting, so I tagged along to Target's Jersey City location just to roam the area and stretch my legs. I've grown to become a huge fan of the brand after an initial rough start with them. So, on this particular trip I made some unexpected yet fortuitous purchases. How was this store compared to the ones I frequented back in Los Angeles!? PURCHASE Sony Blu-Ray Player ($69.99): One of only two models currently available during this holiday time, I decided to buy this for my friend who actually needed a player for DVDs and Blu-Rays she had of non-streamed movies and performances. I was surprised at how small this unit was and the bare-bones features provided. With a power plug into the wall outlet and an included HDMI cable into the TV, everything was set up and ready to go! "James Bond No Time To Die" Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Target Exclusive ($26.99): Yes, I was in the minority of those who still bought - actually collected - such media primarily because of the bonus features, but these Target Exclusive versions always offered something even more cool with special additions, etc. Yes, most of my movie discs I now bought were of this type of variety so I was able to geek out over all the extras! Oreo Cookies Java Chip 17oz Package ($3.79): If you knew me, I loved trying all new limited flavor releases, and this was one of the better ones in recent times. Mainly a coffee-flavored ice cream, it was hard for me not to eat the entire package on the initial opening (I kept it to eight cookies equivalent to four servings). Maybe I'd buy coffee-flavored ice cream and crumble a couple of these cookies into it! SERVICE My friend knew exactly where she needed to go while I roamed freely and found things on my own. Otherwise, most of the staff was stocking the shelves, so any assistance was kept to a minimum. At the checkout areas, they had one female who directed traffic to open registers while our cashier was chill and efficient. All was fine with what we needed. PARKING (FREE) They had their own private parking lot with sufficient spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large box warehouse that was well-organized and spaced out among aisles upon aisles stocked well with products. I loved the clear signage that addressed each aisle and the vibrant visual displays that gave this an appealing inviting store; it was a shame the stores I frequented weren't as welcoming as this one. Plenty of natural lighting came through the large front glass walls and sliding doors while a myriad of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Jersey City's Target location was a nice surprise and made me a bit jealous that this wasn't even close to "my" Targets. Although this was only a single-level store, it was very expansive and seemed to carry as much if not more than the two-level stores I shopped at. The prices, product selection, organization, and service were all on-point and consistent with other Target stores I've been to. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $104.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
