Dont expect the car you ordered if you are younger than 25, even though the website lets you reserve it.The employees are very nice and try their best to help us.Id personally recommend to go to sixt or avis in the mall if you are under 25. Better price and service.

DON’T RENT HEREI don’t normally go out of my way to rate a business low, but this place scammed me. I’m an underage driver and I designated it when booking the rental and paid the full fees online. They had stated in the confirmation online and in email that I had to only pay $31 on pickup of the vehicle. Instead when I went to pick up the vehicle, they charged me an additional $152 because of the underage fees. I tried explaining how I designated this online and paid already and they still went through with it. Just incur the extra $10-$20 a day elsewhere, so that you don’t get hit with unexpected “scamming” fees.

Long story short.. getting a car for Uber is a pain in the *** but thanks to Irina everything was a little more pleasant. She helped me and got me a car the two times I was there. Stay awesome!!

I rented on January 26, 2024, at Newport Mall in Jersey City and returned it on January 31st due to your EV not accepting an electric charge = a mechanical issue. They charged me until February 2nd, and they charged me to the full extent for a midsize or a full-size combustion engine vehicle I reserved while they gave me a malfunctioning and dirty EV which costs only $240 per week. This isn't my 1st time, I used Budget in the past, and currently, I stick to Sixt and AVIS. I'd encourage anyone to never rent from Hertz, as I reached out to the Department of Consumer Affairs of New Jersey State, and they confirmed to me that they the most complaints they receive about rental companies, is about Hertz. My rental agreement # is 917832885 and my name is Ladi Smigura. I'll continue to report this to the Better Business Bureau and file a small claim lawsuit, as I was charged $330 for a dirty and tiny EV Chevrolet Bolt, which failed me. I'll never use Hertz again, and I encourage everyone to use AVIS Group. Hertz Customer Service phone numbers for assistance and billing provides you with agents which are negligent and oblivious to this, and are being ranked higher by their employee if they get off the call with you in a reasonable time, which leads to them abandoning your call. On top of this all, they kept my money once I rejected the car because it wasn't working with Uber as it was designed to. Thiefs, fraudsters = Hertz, will silently laugh into your face.

This location is consistent in being the worst rental car pick up location I have come across. The location will invariably have a long waiting line regardless of day or time. The staff is always slow in serving customers and never seem to have any solutions. They always seem overwhelmed.If you are ever renting here, budget an extra hour to just be waiting in line.Don’t expect any different experience even if you have Gold / President Circle status. I am a President’s Circle member and have stopped renting from this location unless I run out of options.Hertz always sends a survey after the rental and clearly pay no attention to it since the location has not seen an ounce of improvement over months and years.

Wow! What such an amazing experience, it’s usually a nightmare at car rentals or maybe it just me that has that luck but not at this hertz, in downtown jersey city. Irina and Rameem were extremely helpful, attentive, and just so accommodating. We couldn’t extend our rental online and we went to the office and they immediately solved the issue. Will always be my go to from here on out when I need a car rental. Thank you Irina and Rameem again, it was extremely refreshing to experience your customer service during these times where nothing isn’t personable anymore and done behind a screen.

Absolutely the worst car rental service in my whole life. I’ve been waiting for my car for 1.5 hours and the employee said I may not even get it today, even though it’s been reserved weeks in advance. All this time I’ve been standing in a cold parking garage and there are people in front of me who have been standing there for 2.5 hours. Nobody offered partial refund or anything else for the inconvenience. Terrible customer service, terrible management, terrible location. I suppose my only option is to dispute the charge on my credit card.Update: we waited 3 HOURS for our car that was booked for 11:00!!!

Didn’t allow me to rent a tesla even though i specifically booked one on the website because i am 21 years old and not 25, the lady at the counter was atleast nice about it and was trying to help me by giving me an alternative, but the manager was incredibly rude and i ended up in a corolla, I’ve been here before and have gotten really great service that is why i returned but after my experience this week, I will not be returning and advise everyone else to pick a different one as well.

Waited in line for over 2 hours. The operation here is not efficient at all. Service is slow, cars are being cleaned on the spot, workers go around the cars taking pics while you wait. Every single step is so time consuming.Came back after 2 years. Never again. They advertise their prices to mislead customers. Local staff was polite but I’m not returning

Let me say the people who work here are nice I had no issue with them whatsoever friendly and helpful....This is a warning for those renting for Uber driving . DO NOT TAKE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE YOU WILL NOT MAKE MONEY . It is impossible to charge these things you waste at least 3 hours per day and pay $20 to charge these things . There are lines to charge always . You cannot go long distance you will lose out on so much money because you have to constantly keep charging or risk running out of miles somewhere there is no charger . The Chevy bolt is horrendous on charging 150 miles at max sometimes on full charge . In the cold you lose miles just for the cold . The stations sometimes are broken or freeze so you can't charge. I barely made $600 a month after all the cost and loss of time . If you are considering it at least do not get the Chevy bolt whatsoever !
