Overall a really comfortable hotel to stay at. When we checked in we are greeted by Roxanne , who was very kind and helpful and helped us a ton when trying to tour NYC. Room very very comfortable, shower was nice. Only thing I didn’t really like was the frustrating valet parking with the grumpy guy in charge of it, reeking of cigarette smoke. Location wasn’t great as it was right next to a dark alley with people that looked like they were doing drug deals but that’s not the hotels fault.

I stayed at this hotel during the Christmas break, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel itself boasted decent amenities and a convenient location, the lack of attention to cleanliness and unprofessional customer service left a bitter taste in my mouth. The most glaring issue arose on the final night of my stay when I returned to my room after a day out, only to find that it hadn't been cleaned. Dirty towels lay strewn across the bathroom floor, the bed was unmade, and trash bins overflowed with discarded items. This negligence was not only disappointing but also unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. When I approached the front desk to address the issue on the second day, the receptionist's response was shockingly dismissive. Despite my polite explanation of the situation, she simply ignored my concerns, citing our imminent check-out as a reason not to rectify the situation. This lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction left me feeling unheard and frustrated.Overall, my stay at this Holiday Inn Express in Jersey was marred by uncleanliness and a blatant disregard for customer service. I had hoped for a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas break as an I HG elite member, but instead, I was met with disappointment and frustration. I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers seeking a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

We came here as a group of 5. 2 adults and 3 children.Newport train station is nearby, the shopping center is cool. In the neighborhood without moving there is something to eat.The rooms are well equipped but lack maintenance. You have to ask them to sweep the floor, in a week the sheets are not changed. Also, there are omissions of cleaning materials on the beds (used tea towel). The breakfast is basic and corresponds to the choice of range, on that side no problem. The receptionists are very kind. They printed us documents for our trip, gave advice and nothing to say. Except one which clearly showed that she was being disturbed. Our children are small and noisy, and we saw that this bothered management.Nearby activities: Close to the World Trade Center. And also a lot of very nice activities close to New York!

I like my stay at this hotel. Rooms are clean, housekeeping keep are room and towels clean all the time during our stay. Breakfast also really good and yummy. Good variety of food, location is not good because of the gas stations around but overall I like my experience in this hotel.

Great rooms, great room service. The location was very convenient. I was surprised that I received text messages asking me if everything was ok or if I had any problems. I really enjoyed my stay.

Decent rooms and good location. They have parking which is nice but then they hit you with it’s a 30 charge even if you don’t leave the car overnight for vallet.

I organized a trip for 16 foreign guests. Our goal was to stay as long as possible in the NY area without breaking the bank. After an extensive search, I decided on the Holiday Inn Express, which I can recommend to any visitor.First, the rooms are massive! My daughter and I had a 2 Queen s suite with city view. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough space to store our six suitcases without them being in the way. The City View was outstanding- the Empire State Building stood in the center our view.In addition, the bathroom was large & well designed. We had hot water with decent water pressure. The Dove cleansing product were nice and the guest laundry room was appreciated. The location was outstanding. Newport station is a short walk away, with connections to WTC and 33rd St. We didn’t have a car, but the lot never seemed to be totally full. The staff was excellent. Leo and his team were extraordinarily helpful in assisting us with some minor difficulties (none of the hotel’s making). They greeted us warmly every day, without it appearing to be a false friendliness. The hotel is truly a jem. Families should choose any two bed room, but a solo guest or couple should try to reserve a corner room with City View. These are the best designed rooms in the hotel.

I recently checked into this hotel, and it has been a horrible experience. There is no hot water for showers, and when I asked to change rooms, they said none were available. Additionally, they mentioned that there was no one available to fix the issue. The service is terrible. It's the worst service I've experienced, and I would not recommend it to anyone. They tried to justify the situation by saying that I booked a standard room, which apparently only comes with warm water. I don't understand how different rooms can have different water temperatures for showers, especially during the winter time. It was really horrible. And even in the bathroom was cold there is no heat coming in the bathroom and room was cold it is not heating up too especially in winter time. Only advantage is room looks nice but everything is horrible.

Holiday Inn's ratings vary depending on the location, so it's okay because it's a franchise of a certain level.

This is the perfect location, only 12 minutes by train to Manhattan, and 20 minutes walking from Grove Street. The staff was very nice and welcoming, our room was perfect, and we had a perfect view. Breakfast included is a must!Rooms: The room is clean and big. Perfect king size bed.Nearby activities: Grove Street is 20 minutes away (walking) and Hoboken the same. The train to the city is 15 Minutes. This is a very tactical position.

Horrible experience at this hotel. Stayed at this for 2 separate work trips in this past December. On the first visit, I was given a room with no heat!! In December!! When I complained about it, one of the maintenance guys tried to fix it (AKA just pressed some buttons on the thermostat for about 30 minutes - total waste of time), but never got it to work. I was told that they didn't have any other rooms available, so had to try to sleep in a freezing room (sub 60 if I had to guess). They did get me into a different room after the 1st night for whatever that's worth. On the 2nd visit, the room came with a nice blood colored stain on the bedsheets! Just nasty.Save yourself the trouble and stay some place else. There's better options with more customer service/cleanliness, not to mention more convenient access to NYC.

Highly recommend this hotel - the staff was very friendly and the location was exceptional. Very easy access to Midtown NYC (both by car and public transit) & popular Jersey spots as well.
