Don't waste your time. You get an email confirmation however the place doesn't exist. Very rude over the phone.

I feel so duped; but before I get into the details, I'll admit my own error: I should have found a way to find out the fee for the service before sitting down to prepare my taxes. I should have asked the preparer what the benefits of filing taxes with Jackson Hewitt were, prior to letting her prepare them. Now on to why I feel so duped. The fee for the 60 minute in person tax filing was not posted anywhere on the website nor on my appointment made confirmation page, nor in my appointment confirmation email, nor in the appointment reminder email. It was not disclosed at all at any point nor easily found on their site (I never found it), and then turned out to be an exorbitant amount, just to have me sit there while the tax filer/expert (who is very nice) did my taxes. What an inmense waste of time, and money. On top of it all, their service fee surpasses all other companies. Guess how much I paid for my taxes (and my husband's) being prepared jointly? $180 Dollars. I spent $180 to find out that by filing jointly, I was going to get $200 more dollars than filing separately. A very expensive lesson for sure. Next time, I'm filing online. To top it all off, nowhere on the emails nor website does it share that it is within the Sears in the mall, behind the mattresses (yes, that's right; I called and those were the directions). I mean, I don't really mind the location- I just wish I hadn't spent 20 minutes running around the mall looking for their locale. Please bear in mind this review has no bearing on the tax preparer who completed the taxes. Although I do wish she had shared the fee amount upfront, before proceeding, as a standard business practice, I share the blame for not having asked her. I should have asked and shared that I could not find the fees anywhere on their site, and/or called to ask, prior to the appointment. The tax preparer was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, very professional, and were it not for the fee, I would happily return to her to do my taxes year after year. Even my grumpy, usually stranger averse toddler, liked her. She was personable, and is overall an amazingly knowledgeable, yet respectful, humble, and cordial professional.

After a previously bad review, I've changed it to 4 stars, as long as they continue their promise of correcting mistakes made on my initial tax return submission. So the verdict is still out we shall see.

Completely understaffed and disorganized. Made an appointment for tax preparation online, arrived on time, was told they were running “a little behind†and that they would call when they were ready. They never called. Definitely would not trust them with sensitive financial information.

I normally file my taxes on my own but this year I haven't had the time because I'm a new mom. Massiel saved the day and she answered all of my questions! I work right down the street so I was able to schedule an appointment and come down for 45 minutes on my lunch break. The minimal cost is worth the hassle of shuffling through papers for hours. I am very likely to do this every year in the future to save myself the time and stress of filing.

I called to inquire information and had a really rude representative take my call. He did not have a pleasant tone while speaking with me and I felt very unwanted. Furthermore, he hung up on me without answering all my questions. Very very unprofessional
