On my last visit, I mentioned I had recently gotten my ears pierced and was having trouble after one of my studs came out. The woman helping me went above and beyond—she guided me through choosing the right earring, gave me alcohol to clean my ear, and offered helpful advice to avoid further irritation. On top of that, she gifted me a cute little necklace to cheer me up and included extra earring backings just in case. It’s rare to find such thoughtful customer service. Highly recommend!”

I've been coming here since the early 1990s. My first time, I was 4 years old.
Denise is the manager. She is from Jersey City. I am from Jersey City. We are both natives. And when two natives from Chilltown meet in a jewelry store decades later, you don't just shop. You remember.
We shared stories. We laughed. We bonded over Macy's next door — she remembered a parking lot. I remembered it was always Macy's. Mandela Effect in real time, right there in the jewelry aisle.
She helped me pick out several pieces. She was heartful. Joyful. Soulful. She did not treat me like a customer. She treated me like a neighbor.
My first time getting my ears pierced? I was 14 years old. Right here. At this Claire's. In Newport Mall.
Denise was there then too — not physically, but in spirit. She has been holding that space for decades.
