Not only is Eric a great chocolatier, but he is a lovely person who is always warm and friendly. I always enjoy going in for a coffee and one of his superb croissants.

Pastry was delicious, however I ordered a latte too and the espresso that was used was premade and fitted into the espresso machine with a bag, similar to what one would experience at a hotel room coffee machine. don't come for espresso, but if you want chocolate or pastries this place is pretty good.

While I did enjoy their chocolates, the rest of the deserts we tried left us wanting more. The desert on display and for sale lacked diversity, wasn't baked the day we were there and the pasty of the brioche bun with pistachios and butter cream was overpowered with whatever flowery essence was added to the cream. I haven't tried any of their pies so maybe they are amazing. The place is small and no frills. Has great potential and maybe we were there on an off day.

Atelier du chocolate is such a wonderful place in Jersey City. I frequently, use their small 4 chocolate boxes for gifts, and more than once I have received inquires about where did these delicious chocolates come from. I’m always torn between, revealing the answer, and preserving my best kept secret. Simply put amazing chocolate!

Had a lovely breakfast with a friend. The hot chocolate was perfect, not too sweet. I am French and the taste of the pain au chocolat and croissant were spot on. The chef was very nice and brought us some blonde chocolate to taste. Already looking forward to the next time.

I recently placed an order for a special occasion with L'atelier du chocolat and let me tell you, did they come through! They went above and beyond to make my last minute request special and meaningful. I absolutely recommend and will be ordering again for the next occasion!

Love their pain au chocolat. Chocolate is a perfect balance of sweet and bold bitterness. Pastry is flaky outside and buttery inside. Paired with a latte is my weekly French artisanal treat that saves me a trip to Paris.

Good shop and great chocolate. However, being small business they can close the store any time. Went there in the morning to get some gifts for an overseas trip, and shockingly met with a note on the door saying the store is closed for the day and will re-open tomorrow! Messed up the whole plan.

Lovely local and authentic French patisserie! Of course they’re pasties, desserts and chocolate are delicious but I really value that they’re not overpriced like some other chain patisseries in the area. One of the only places where croissants is still under $4 and it’s because the owner cares to keep things affordable for the community than just making a profit.Love this place
