Please pay the employees well. The hispanic lady at night shifts is very rude to new customers. You already over charge every product, atleast make sure the people at the cash counter know how to talk to customer. Will never shop from here if unruly behavior is seen again at your cash counters!!!!!!

I recently shopped at Morton Williams in Newport and had a terrible experience. The bag of apples was completely bruised and spoiled, while the box of peeled garlic developed fungus within two days despite refrigeration. Additionally, other items also became spoiled quickly. Although the refrigerator was fine, as confirmed by my roommates' use of it, the overall quality of the products was extremely disappointing and a waste of money.

Pretty spacious store, with a decent selection of products. But the prices are absolutely absurd. Even ACME in Hoboken is not this expensive. $8 for a box of cereal. I'm gonna stick with ACME and ShopRite.

One of the nicest supermarkets I have been to - expensive yes - but spacious, clean, signposted and oh my god, so meticulously organized I could not believe my eyes! Every product has its own place on a shelf and I felt like I am in OCD's paradise! ! I know this is not the reason to shop here, and indeed it’s not, but apart from standard, yet amazing, fresh food such as baked goods, vegetables, fruits and meats &fish I appreciate this place offers a lot of variety of products that I do not normally see elsewhere. Like there was a full isle of different teas - black, green, fruit, flavored - so many to choose from. The same of course goes with other things such as ice cream - I haven’t seen in any other supermarket such a variety of different brands and flavors. The regional sections are worth checking too - several products from every major cuisine such as Asian, Arabic, Indian or Italian - plenty to choose from. Additionally I found some more sections dedicated to British or Japanese food and treats. It is truly an experience to shop here, but all this comes at a price, a relatively high price. This place is not for daily shopping or stocking up, but rather for treating yourself to something previously unknown to you, otherwise it would ruin your bank account. It was very empty when I visited, so the shopping was quite pleasant.PS: They do cakes here as well!

I live next door so it's convenient but everything I have to check expirations dates, always having expired products! (All kinds: fresh products, frozen, meat, etc...)

Ate a piece of expired crab. Most of the produce is rotten and definitely not fresh. Much of the shelves also contain expired food. Expired cheese. I would think twice about buying any meat or seafood from here.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 2 years and I think management is trying but it’s just not a MW. Here are some suggestions for the buyer. First, don’t buy the fish or meat here, go a block over to Acme instead the stuff is way fresher and cheaper. 1/3 of the meat at this MW has been rotten or a few days from. If you walk to the meat section you’ll see there’s no fresh fish it’s all frozen from weeks before and the butcher doesn’t work there anymore. The salmon are peeling and smells disgusting before you even open it.The fruits are rotting. I’ve bought watermelon, oranges and grapes that were all rotting by the time you bring them home. How the manager allows this to happen is beyond me but if you keep selling produce like this then you will eventually lose all your customers or give someone food poisoning.I would maybe go here for some niche snacks but really that’s about it. They open pretty late which makes it the only go to if you come home late from work but I try to do my shopping on the weekend at Target or Acme to avoid this place as much as I can. Until it stops trying to sell you 0.39$ rotting single fish heads as produce be smart and go somewhere else.

I would not advise any African American to patronize this Morten Williams, as this location needs to be exposed for its racial profiling tactics and criminalization of Black women who are falsely accused of stealing on a regular basis. The security guards and store clerks have a nasty habit following Black women around while they are shopping. These particular customers are closely monitored, mistreated and harassed. On one such instance, a Black shopper let it be known to the store clerk that they (the shopper) knew "what was going on," to which the clerk responded, "I am just doing my job"! This behavior is constant, so it cannot be about store policy, but more on the lines of personal prejudice. It is humiliating, disrespectful and embarrassing; especially when you have a Caucasian store manager trying to prevent a 76-year-old Black woman from leaving the store until he searched her pocketbook, due to three incompetent employees falsely accused her of stealing. It is bad enough that the food bar is inedible i.e., expired products are kept on the shelf way past the expiration dates, the vegetables are rotten, and the bread is old and dry. Perhaps if the store manager focused more on these issues the store location would not have so many poor reviews. This store is DISGUSTING, and the store manager (John Mahr) needs to be relieved of his duties.

Although expensive, the selection is very expansive and the hot bar is quite fresh. The workers are nice and the fruits and other produce is especially good. I highly recommend checking this place out and I will definitely be back frequently. On my trip, I bought macarons, muffins, ramen as well as some snacks. Must mention that the bakery section is extremely good and the ethnic foods are extremely well stocked!
