You can find foods from outside of America. Especially Turkish olive oil, halva, feta cheese and olive varieties.

Unbelievably useless, overpriced store with no organic produce. They don’t even have rolled oats and the employee said only the manager could order them and that they’re delivered once per month. Jersey City really needs a Whole Foods to replace these useless ripoffs

The bakery items are pretty poor for a downtown bakery. Most produce is over priced for no good reason.

I love the owners family vibe in there. The manager is super sweet, he's tall with glasses. They have great operation hours for the locals which is appreciated. They have some good vegan/plant based options, we could use a little more variety. In addition to having useful staple items, They're reliable, friendly, and convenient.

tl;dr horrible customer service + food poisoningmy husband and i come here all the time because we live very close and it’s super convenient. today, i came to the store at 9:45 (they close at 10 pm) and there was an older man pushing all the outdoor fruit carts in; i think he may be the owner. he saw me browsing the shelves and shoved past me many times with the giant carts, including by rudely telling me to get out of the way (i’m currently pregnant). at around 9:55, i finally finish grabbing my items and head to the cashier to wait to check out—there is no one there and the man sees me waiting but doesn’t say anything. a little while later, he pushed another giant cart in and again rudely tells me to get out of the way. i do and then return to waiting by the cashier. he sees me and still doesn’t say anything.at around 9:58, i ask him if he can help me check out and he says no, gesturing to the cashier station and saying the cashier have long left. there is another younget man standing by the prepared foods section and i ask if he can check me out, and he also says no. at this point the older man looks at me and says i have to leave. i check my phone and it is 9:59.i will never shop here again. if they is how they treat people who spend money here every day (quite literally - we have probably spent tens of thousands of dollars here) i shudder to think how they treat other customers.if you need groceries in the neighborhood, check out P&K fruit just down the block. it’s a family place with the kindest owners and highest quality produce. and if you must buy anything at Oliva, avoid the prepared foods and cut fruit at all costs—it gave me food poisoning and had me projectile vomiting for a full day.

This organic fruit, vegetable, and food store at 138 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ is lovely. Oliva has a wide assortment of tasty and healthful products. It is on the enticing Newark Avenue pedestrian walk. Manager Sejal and the women at the cash registers are friendly, helpful and efficient. And Oliva has the tastiest blueberries, blackberries and avocados in town.

Great place for groceries. My only suggestion would be to keep organic meat especially chicken.

We love Oliva - our neighborhood store, better or comparable to any big hippy popular stores such as Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. Vegetables and Fruits are if not more at New York prices, and the bakery is always fresh as hockey pucks. They made a prudent decision to close the healthy salad bar and replace it with fried food and meat, sushi is usually 5 days old and moldy fermented fish with oxidized dark avocados add to the flavor. In addition the staff especially the only handsome guy who works at the cash register acts very charmingly to the other females colleagues and is courteous to the customers. This will be our go-to store forever. Not to mention their cheese selection is awesome.

I'm visiting from out of town and staying next door when I stumble across Oliva. They have everything you could possibly want to eat or drink. Everything can be made to order or pick from the menu. Wraps, sandwiches, salads, burgers, stir fry, burritos and a massive buffet. Had a pastrami for lunch and went back for a hand made salad for dinner. Loved both. This is take out only so no seating but who cares. Check this place out. It's nuts.
