Liquor Stores in Lakewood, NJ

“I have been using the Lakewood Wine Academy Superstore for years. They have a great diversity of wines, spirits and beers. I have never been disappointed.
This December, I needed wine for a couple Christmas parties. The gentleman that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me select a wide variety of wines and varietals. I personally love Italian wines. I got a few bottles of Brunello di Montalcino. They were excellent. My wife’s favorites are Spanish. He again got me a very nice selection of Tempranillo and Rioja bottles. These were for my own use besides the case for the Christmas parties. I got a nice discount for getting a case+.
Just recently and the main reason for this review is the customer service I was afforded by a gentleman named Neev Chapani. I am also a big fan of tequilas. They had a tequila advertised, Cava de Oro. Unfortunately it was out of stock. I kept checking but it didn’t seem like it was coming back.
I emailed the Wine Academy to inquire if they were going to get it back in stock. Neev very quickly responded and said they were waiting for the supplier to restock. Neev went well beyond what most stores would do and frequently emailed me to keep me informed. He was happy to tell me that they had just received a new order but had not been able to get it on their website yet. He told me that it was available and I could get it then, before it made it to the App.
I have to praise Neev and the Wine Academy for their exceptional customer service! I will continue to patronize them. If you need a store with a great selection and salespeople who are more than willing to help, go to Wine Academy Superstore in Lakewood.”

“The Vineyard is one of those places in Lakewood that you walk into “just to pick up one bottle,” and somehow you walk out like you’re stocking a simcha… mamash every time 😄.

First of all, the selection is serious. Wine, liquor, and a very solid range of kosher options — from your reliable Shabbos staples to the nicer bottles you pull out when you want to look like you know what you’re doing. Whether you’re making Kiddush, bringing something to a host, or you need a classy bottle for a vort/Sheva Brachos/thank-you, they’ve got you covered without you having to run around town.

But the real secret weapon here is the staff. Super helpful, no attitude, and they actually know their stuff. You tell them what you’re looking for — “I need something good, not too expensive, but also not embarrassing” — and they’ll point you to a bottle that makes you look like a balabos with taste. If you’re not sure what to get, just ask… they’ll guide you patiently and you won’t feel like you’re bothering anyone.

And the pricing is another win. For the quality and variety, it’s very fair — you can find great options at normal-people prices, plus plenty of upgrades if you’re in the mood to be a little more “chashuv” this week.

Also, the place is organized and easy to shop, which is underrated. You’re not playing treasure hunt with the shelves — you can actually find what you need, get in, get out, and still make it home before “two minutes till licht” panic sets in.

Bottom line: great selection, affordable prices, and genuinely top-tier customer service. The Vineyard is a go-to for Shabbos, Yom Tov, simchos, and everything in between — just don’t come in “for one bottle” unless you have very strong self-control. 😄”

“Good liquor store filled with a large selection of alcoholic beverages and a small snack selection area. Prices are fair and I use this store for my regular needs. They have a refrigerator across the whole back of the store with beer melt liquors, seltzer, champagne and some white wine as well. Many wines, liquors, cases of beer, premixed drinks, shooters, etc.. the store is a bit tight but I do not mind.”

“This place is amazing. It is my new go to wine store. The wine I originally ordered was out of stock. They called me and exchanged it for a different more expensive bottle at the same price.

They also ship 🍸 No other wine store does that. The Fedex guy did not even ask for my age. It was truly an amazing experience.

“I used to like this place. Now i want to spend money and there is no merchandise. When you go in and take a right and go down, on the right side the shelves were full of different IPAs. Not any more. The first three fridges now are full of sodas. Very very poor beer selection when it comes to IPAs. I see only sixpacks if I'm lucky, of course it's more expensive buying two sixpacks then a 12, but i did it anyway because next day you're not going to find it anymore. So out of desperation i head to the fridge where the big single can beers are. Even that shelf in the fridge is almost empty. I am in a situation where I have to buy whatever is left, if there is anything left. Why is there no IPAs? (except for Sam Adams that nobody wants to buy).
I think I'm done with them, why would i go there if there is no merchandise? I will drive farther to a better store where i can find Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada hazy, Voodoo Ranger and so on plenty. This is basic , you can find these at almost any store. Even the hard seltzers are hard to come by these days.
Sad story...

Edit: beers are back in the fridges and it seems like there is a change! I have to say the whiskey and bourbon selection is extraordinary.

“This store really comes in clutch with its hours of operation, if some party or somethin comes up and you gotta get some alc, they’ve got your back, this place opens early and closes late! finally a store around town that understands the essentiality of alcohol, be it beer or liquor! The pricing is pretty solid and they’ve got a decent amount of flavors and brands of “singles” in regards to the beer! And last but not least- if you plan on shooting you can grab some chasers here too!!”
