If you like banking like it's 1995 you'll love the Bank of Princeton, where their technology exceeds only that of a public library in rural Missouri. Their website gives you just enough options to do basically nothing. Open a home equity line of credit? Good luck paying it off. There is only two ways to pay down your principal, 1) assign an amount that you want to come out each month from your WISE checking account--something you must open along with the loan (NOTE: the only way to change this amount is to have them mail you a form which you need to fill out, sign, and mail back to them--can't just change it online), and 2) get in your car, drive to a branch, fill out another form, and give them a check for the amount to be applied to the principal (can't just do this online). Just as easy as when your grandparents had a loan. On top of the Bank of Princeton's inability to be flexible or convenient in any way, getting a consumer service representative on the phone is a bit tricky. Call the (609) 921-1700 customer service number (on their main website) during normal business hours and you'll probably get... no one. After six attempts on three separate days I decided to go back through my email, find the person that processed my loan, and call them. Success! Unfortunately they didn't have all the answers to my questions, like "Why hasn't any of my pre-assigned monthly principal payment been made in the last billing cycle?" and "Is there a minimum amount I need to assign to have money go to my principal each month?" The representative figured out the first question but never resolved the second. When I shared my displeasure and frustration regarding my (three month) banking experience with them she replied, "I'm sorry. I know we don't make it easy." And that really incapsulates the whole experience. Bank of Princeton--We're sorry, we don't make it easy.

This is the best bank that I have ever banked with. The customer service is so helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to answer questions and offer assistance.

It's hard to believe here in 2020 that I'm writing a positive review of a bank. The bank of Princeton and in particular this branch have returned banking to the positive experience that I remember as a child. Don't get me wrong they have all of the modern conveniences and they even give you a coffee which is something that I don't remember as a kid. What I'm talking about is the level of service and the level of respect. It's truly a special organization and you'll be very glad that you switched.

THE BEST BANK! community banking at its finest! very courteous and helpful staff that goes the distance and beyond to help the community and their clients. I run a local nonprofit and have had nothing but stellar experiences with BOP for the last 7 years. other friends who run local businesses both big and small have said the same to me. instead of a big corporate machine where computers make decisions and assign fees, the staff call me if there is a problem. highly recommend!

A bizarre, dodgy, little bank with mysterious fees that their own employees can't explain! LOL!
