The staff and especially the managers are horrible! The manager is extremely rude and when I confronted dollar general about the staff and how the staff was smoking MARIJUANA in the store the manager called me and said well what do you want done about this huh?? With such an attitude. On top of that I was over charged and it was brushed off as the manager said "psh yeah my staff don't steal no money".
They need better staff or corporate needs to come and start firing some people, especially the manager!

I bought Christmas tree lights on Sunday, it turned out that they were a different color than the ones already on the tree, so I went back to Dollar General (DG) to return them and get different ones. The assistant manager did not refund my money, he was very rude and shouted at the entire store "get out of my store!!!" I went home and checked DG's policy and saw that there is a 90 refund period. I came back the next day and politely asked for a refund from the same assistant manger, who looked very sloppy, was ruder than the day before, and once again shouted across the whole store "Get out of my store!". Unfortunately he did not want to give me his name, he is a short man that looks very sloppy. I have never experienced such treatment of a customer before. It ended with police arriving, a report on his behavior, and the item being refunded for me. I do not recommend anyone to shop at this store, 2058 Lawrenceville NJ on Route 1. You will definitely not get your money back and you will be treated very poorly by the assistant manager. The police said that this was not the first time that this person had this behavior. Horrible disgusting man, stay away from this store.

The store just really fell off after covid. The prices are way too high, the employees never have any energy. The inventory is always low.

(Keep in mind i’m 7 mths pregnant) The manager was extremely rude after I asked to put money on cashapp and sent me away saying the 11$ I wanted to put on my card sounded fraudulent and cashapp was at their discretion. I would never step foot into the DG again. The guy had dreads and was light skinned but unfortunately did not give me a name.

I approached an employee for assistance, since I was purchasing on behalf of my job for a charity. He referred me to the manager who immediately replied, I'm not shopping for you, get the hell out of my store. I went to Walmart where I even went over budget. I know good help is hard to find but the standard here is extremely low. So upset, will never set foot in this building again. I went there because it was my go to place years ago but never again. I know I'm wasting my time leaving a review but I sincerely hope he will be cautioned for his actions. Spent $175 on just socks at Walmart. I hope his actions were not based on the color of my skin... Shame on him.

I give four stars because the store is always stocked and clean. You have some awesome employees except one. Bryon. There was a line. Nobody knew where the cashier was at. Some one yelled hello. And bryon was upset . He kept going back and fourth complaining because someone said hello and being rude about how the customers had to wait. All he had to say was he was doing the balloons Another employee came to the front once she heard hello becaause she didn't know the line was long bryonkept going back and fourth . I never ever experience that in this store. Nobody's was being rude to him.

Woo hoo, first to review this sweet $ store.... I just popped in to kill some time before my Mex takeout was ready a few doors away. I'm in this shopping center regularly for this restaurant, and I could have sworn this was a CVS at one point?? No matter, the store looked new and seemed larger than other dollar stores. I did have a small Christmas gift to check off my list, Twix candy. I was only able to find one option, $1 snack packs. While not exactly what I had in mind, I grabbed a few and thought good enough. I was less fortunate in the cat food department, but I did find a personal care item I was looking for, and for much cheaper than a supermarket. At a few days before Xmas there were a few Christmas items left to be had, and the store did not looked trashed as is sometimes the case. The employees were all friendly and even quick to open another register when all three shoppers decided to check out at the same time. I'll probably stop in again on future trips to my favorite Mexican spot.
