STAY AWAY FROM.THIS COMPANY!!!!If I could rate them less than 1 star I would!I had reserved a truck a week in advance and when I got to the Lodi, NJ shop the female representative informed me that my confirmed reservation was now unconfirmed, and there was no truck there for me.Then she handed me a piece of paper with a number on the back and told me to call the number to speak to an inventory/ scheduling manager to find a truck! I said why am I calling when this is your mistake? She informed me that she could not help me and that I should call the number and if I decide to cancel the reservation I should request that they not charge me a cancelation fee!Needless to say, the experience only went downhill from there with the rep on the phone telling me that I would have to find my own way to whatever location any avaable truck might be and that the manager would/ might call me between 15 mins and 2 hours!!! The only issue with that was that I had already contracted several people to help me pack the truck and they were already in their way to my house.This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. No remorse, no genuine apology, just disrespect and lack of regard for people time, effort, and resources.I will NEVER use Budget car or truck rentals again!!!

I made a reservation the day prior to picking up a moving truck and received a confirmation that a truck would be ready. I paid for a ride service to the location only to find out that there is no truck available at that location or any other in the area. The employee said I had to contact customer service and they couldn't help me further. It's clear that Budget overbooks their inventory and does not care for their customers. Do not trust this company.

O STARS.PLEASE READ! I travel for business and use car rental services frequently. I have not NEVER had an experience like this. Almost comedic!! I reserved a car on Expedia two weeks ago. I called yesterday and said I was running late. The person said "no problem, we are here till 6pm. Upon arriving, I was greeted by an obnoxious and arrogant agent KIM who tells me my car was given away!! WHAT? Policy at Budget is a window of 16 hours after pick up time. She never explained why and refused to answer questions. Mind you, she is the only person working there. No supervisor or another associate to check her with her obstinate and combative behavior. I asked multiple times to speak with the owner or supervisor who refused to call me and mollify this situation. After telling her she should not be working there because her attitude is so nasty she refused to give me my car when it came in. WHAT??? Then called to speak with the owner today (Ruben), who not only defended her but blamed me for being angry and swearing at her!! I think anyone would be swearing after being scolded then ignored after your car was given away and no apology!Then I read all the horrible reviews on here which all point out how feckless and flagrant KIM'S behavior over the past few years. BUDGET corporate should terminate this office for the complicit behavior by the owner and his horrible employees. If BUDGET corporate has any pride in upholding their reputation, they need to take action. Cleary this has been going on for a long time!!!

Really miserable starting with Ms. Bad Attitude at the front desk in the morning. Arrived at 745 am for my 8 am truck rental. I had to wait for her to wipe down her work area before she would attend to me. Then she sarcastically stated that I had arrived at 745 am for an 8 am pick-up. The truck was NOT there but I could drive to another location 6 miles away to pick it up. I was glad to leave there and still get a truck since I had reserved the truck 6 weeks earlier and was moving that day.Went to the Lyndhurst location and the woman was pleasant enough. But the truck was absolutely filthy. Not dirty from the previous renter but dirty from not being cleaned in at least a year. Caked on crud. Dust and it had not been vacuumed in ages.Never again!It got worse! After not having a truck for me and sending me 6 miles away to another location, they had the audacity to charge me a No Show fee! No one answers the telephone. Had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

One nasty agent works in this location whom we have dealt with on a few occasions- consistent attitude. Working at around 4pm on 1/25/22 if any upper management looks into this. Budget you should do better quality control with your employees. No need for them to be nasty to people. This poor girl hates working there. Customer lost bye.

Awful experience at this place. I made a reservation online for a 16' about 2 weeks before my out of state moving date. The day before I get a phone call that I might have to pick up at difference location but he will call me as soon as he finds out, supposedly he was going to be checking cameras from home and let me know. Well, its 9 am, 1 hour after my scheduled pickup time and of course he didn't call. I kept calling the office and nobody answered. Finally a very rude lady picked up later, I explained my situation and she is like oh yeah you have to pick up in Hackensack. No apologies no nothing! I had even received an email confirming this was my pick up location. This office obviously doesn't care for wasting customer's time. I ended up picking up in Hackensack, could not get a truck that size anywhere else for that day. At least the person at the Hackensack location was really nice and professional. So don't waste your time at this rt. 46 E office!

Not recommended!!! I moved into the area on November 3rd, Booked a 12' moving truck 2 nights before on the Budget/Avis website, held the truck i wanted with a credit card and received a confirmation number. My rental pickup time was 8:30am, on Nov 3rd. Ruben Pereira, location manager, called my fiancé and I to tell us we were unable to use the 12' moving truck that morning at 8:10am. He called TWENTY minutes before our scheduled pick up time (even though they open at 6am) We lived two hours away, so after driving the distance, & now annoyed, we explained to Ruben we were less then 5 minutes away, and were hoping to see what else was available. When we arrived at 8:23am, we noticed the 12' moving truck still in the lot. We asked if we would be able to take it, Ruben was dismissive and rudely said no without saying anything else. Confused because i had email confirmation that said i would receive this truck i decided to see what else he could offer me. He tried to downgrade me to a cargo van, for MORE MONEY then the 12' moving truck would have been. Now I'm annoyed, I came two hours for a moving truck and he couldn't follow through on the initial agreement per the attached email or get me a better deal for the inconvenience. So long story short, after a disagreement between my fiancé and Ruben we decided to take his business card (to call customer service because of his rude & untimely management skills.) & we left to look for other moving trucks in the area. Less then a month later, I get my credit card statement, Ruben charged me for a rental i never received! The charge was since disputed and they are now under investigation for his THIRD wrongful charge! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION, however for better rates in that area, we went with U-Haul Moving & Storage of Saddle Brook (973) 478-2008.

Didn't provide the truck I reserved online, hidden charges and service with a bit of a 'tude. Gave me a van instead of the 16' truck; which I ordered and confirmed, and I only found out and hour before I arrived. There were no other trucks available anywhere so was forced to take it as I had to move. Took me three times as long and three trips through toll booths all of which added significantly to my costs including triple mileage! Didn't offer to deduct tolls, mileage and when I called corporate they said sign the release form and we will compensate you later "don't worry." So I did sign release and they lied! What should have cost $100 cost $498 plus extra time of the guys I hired to help another $300! Manager at the location tried to compensate me a bit by offering free mileage on my next rental. Rented there again and it was a bit of a hassle again. There are other places to rent trucks; like Fairmount, and I will go to them from now on. Sad for this franchise as I rent trucks all the time for business!
