Wow !!! Absolutely the worst!!! Had 2 reservations with 2 separate locations for a rental and one location calls me to tell me I'm on a waiting list I call customer service they send me to a second location which two old people are basically like screw you we have nothing but go here get in an Uber and go to tjr 3rd budget ! They tell me the regional manager doesn't allow them to post sold out!!! Absolutely no regard for people

This rental agency is one of the worst that i have ever rented in my whole life.There is absolutely no customer service and this seems to be like a shady business and the agency is like a coverup to whatever they're doing at the back.Horrible experience.. and to top it all off.. the car was not at all clean and extremely disgusting to even drive out, even after letting the receptionist know that the car wasn't clean, she didn't seem to care about it. Faulty car and extremely bad experience.

So this morning as I’m getting ready to go pick up my rental I receive a call asking if I’m coming for the car. Yes I said. Now I’m taking an Uber $40 to location to pick up the car. After arriving to pick up the vehicle I was told I was unable to get the vehicle. If unable to get the car shouldn’t have called me to confirm and wasted my time and money. So now I have to take an Uber back to hotel and probably one to Baltimore where I’m flying out of. Mind you I rented a car to get to New Jersey. Imagine that.

The lady was so rude ….I walked in with my sister to rent a car….yes it’s a sign that say only 1 person but we were together not like a total different customer…they been lifted the mandate n also she separated with plexi glass…very nasty tone of voice…how can I help you…I have reservations…well I probably don’t have any cars u probably need to go to Rutherford without asking for my info….so now she said what’s ur name…I couldn’t take it no more n walked out and told her to have a nice day….I will not give anyone my money with that rude attitude…

I don’t recommend coming to this place. They gave me a vehicle that needed a oil change. The car kept stopping while I was driving it and there seems to be no sense of urgency with this company. The customer service experience at the Avis in Lyndhurst is lacking. They require you to wear a mask in the store but all their employees don’t have to wear masks. It makes no sense, then they have this idiotic rule that only one person can be in the store at a time. This place is loaded with hidden fees & god forbid you’re under 25; you have to pay a $250 fee just to get the car; then they tell you that they have to check your credit. I’ve never rented from somewhere that requires this. What does credit have to do with something you’re paying in full for at the point of sale. They’ve inconvenienced me by not giving me a car that was suitable to be driven. This should be illegal! I could’ve died, the car literally stopped while I was driving.

DO NOT GO HERE. This was the worst experience we've ever had renting a car. It was as if the older woman at the front desk (short hair) did everything in her power to be difficult and rude throughout the entire process. Really poor representation of Budget. First, she told us that the car we were going to rent for moving (a van) wasn't available and tried to get us to take another small car that just would not have worked. Turns out she DID have the car. Then, a few minutes after we left (with the correct car thankfully), I got a call and was rudely reminded that I was ONLY ONE SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING. I WAS the one driving and she had already reminded me of this 4 times in a condescending manner. Now, this woman is trying to charge us for an extra day when we have proof that the car was to be rented until the evening. My partner even has a copy of the receipt on his phone and she literally refuses to look at it. She is truly the worst. Maybe getting laid would help your crappy attitude and nonexistent customer service.

WORST WORST WORST.. Absolutely rude customer service. I had a car book days ago and even got a confirmation email, for this afternoon. I was told there's no car few minutes before I was about to head there to pick up (only after I call them). AVIS SHOULD SHUT DOWN THIS PLACE. WORST EVER. THE WOMAN JUST HUNG UP ON ME WITHOUT EVEN LET ME TO TALK... I strongly DO NOT RECOMMENDED ANYONE TO count on this place for car rentals.. No wonder why the reviews are so bad.

I just recently needed to rent a vehicle because my personal car was in service. I had an OB appointment on 3/9/21 same day; late afternoon and spent the entire morning visiting other rental agencies in the area with no luck! When I called, prior to me coming into the office I spoke with Debbie and she was clear and knowledgeable about the qualifications to rent one of their cars.Debbie and her co-worker went above and beyond to make sure that I was handled with care. My problems are nor their problems and yet they did the best to help me!That mentality of the customer is always right is an ineffective way to get what you want from others. Respect and honesty is really the best policy and remembering that the people working behind the counter are human as well.Again, THANK YOU Debbie and coworkers for making a nightmare day a beautiful day as it should have been. =)

I had a reservation for a cargo van for over a month for my son to use to move. We had to get the van and not a bigger truck because of where the property was located. We received a confirmation the night before in an email. When we went to pick up the van, I was told they had no van and would give me a 16ft box truck for the same price. They said they called to let us know. We did not receive a call and we cannot use the 16 foot box truck (which was not at this location by the way, it was in Hackensack and I would have to pick it up there). I again told them I cannot use the 16 ft box truck. They called around for a van but could not find one. I had to cancel and was left with no vehicle to move but UHaul came to my rescue. And to put salt in the wound, they charged me $75 for canceling.....when THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE VEHICLE I REQUESTED. Needless to say, I called corporate and had the $75 credited back to my credit card. STAY AWAY!

Lol where do I start. Made a reservation to rent a car, got in the car and it smelled like someone smoked a whole pack of cigarettes in the car. Went inside to complain about the smell of the car, and they tell us "oh that's just the smell of the sanitizer we use. We've had a lot of complaints about it" yes that's the sanitizer you used to mask the smell of the cigarettes. I'd still like another car. After complaining a 2nd time they finally gave us the keys to another car when they could've just apologized in the first place.
