Disgusting, old, run down, broken things in the room. Super noisy AC kept us up all night.

I usually never care to write reviews, but after checking into a room that was definitely not cleaned after the previous guest checked out, I had to. The sheets were not changed. There was hair on both beds, unknown brown residue on the walls, and a broken headboard on one of the beds. The ceiling looked like it came straight out of public housing. The whole room felt disgusting and unsanitary. We asked for housekeeping to come change the sheets, but they were off duty. The front desk had to figure out who was available and we were told they would come in possibly 20 minutes because they were assisting another guest. Instead of waiting what probably would have been an hour, we made the decision to leave right away without a refund. I don’t understand the positive reviews for this hotel. I will never stay at a Hampton Inn again.

I've stayed here many times. I love the fact that there's a QuickChek convenience store/eatery right next door (a 30-second walk), the breakfast is standard fare for this type of establishment - diverse and enjoyable. The staff has always been pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating to my various quirks and requests. Overall, it is a top rated experience for this price point.

Room was tidy. Towels seemed new (due to extensive lint). However the room had a heavy scent of 'old musky odor' . The A/C was turned 'on' but it never refreshed the room air. The window is not openable and there is no exhaust fan in bath. The front desk staff had one other room available but it too had its own 'old scent. Appreciate, however, that FEBREEZE or other odor hiding methods aren't being used. It would be great if the A/C or other mechanical means were available to refresh the room of smells & scents before the next guest arrives. In most European hotels the windows open and the rooms can be aired-out. The bathroom needed attention as well. The sliding shower door either had an extreme build-up of black caulking (?) Or just plain nasty something-or-other. A crack in the tile, down.from the soap dish was also evident & dirty.
Also, my wife was bitten twice during the night by 'something' ...don't recommend this property.
It is not up to Hampton (Hilton) standards

Breakfast is AWESOME. Hot eggs, potatoes, sausage , hot oatmeal, make your own Belgian waffles, toast and bagels etc. juice, coffee, tea bags. One of the days it had yogurt. Just can’t ask for more from a hotel for free breakfast . The staff was so nice! Shawn at the front desk was especially helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Shawn was truly a kind person! Helped us choose a place to eat for dinner. (Johnnys , NY style pizza, was awesome by the way!)
We were first put in a room that smelled strongly of pet (dog) dander. And two rooms near us had barking dogs. Asked to be moved to another room and we were delighted they were able to. The room they moved us to smelled much better but still had slightly musty (old) scent. But we were so happy not to be near those dogs on the first floor near the pool. Pool was cold. But still fun to take a swim. We did find it more challenging to drive around town around this hotel. But never got lost. NJ is just more difficult to travel around in general. I would prefer to stay closer to Patterson PA at Hyatt house in the future.
Rooms: Try to get a room that is NOT near first level near pool because dogs and pet owners stay near there . If you are sensitive to scents , this hotel may not be for you
Food and drinks: Delicious hot breakfast included with stay
