My godfather used to hang out at Giffords with the owner back in the 80's and 90's. When he passed he left is 79 Stingray to me and I took it upon myself to make sure it was properly restored by professionals to honor him. Thanks to the wonderful team at Giffords, they've brought it back to life. Very upfront about all the work it needed and never did anything without asking. Also looking forward to continuing to work with them.

I highly recommend Gifford Autobody. They did an excellent job and well within my budget. The quality of their workmanship is 5 star. Not to mention they finished extremely timely. My car has 140000 miles but still runs fantastic so I didn’t want to get rid of it but wanted to clean it up a bit. Other body shops wanted to replace the door the back tailgate and the front bumper to a tune of $12000. At that price it wasn’t worth fixing however I stopped in at Gifford and they told me that they could pull the dents out and get it back to looking new again. Well they certainly delivered the car looks brand new once again and all for $3100. Wow what a difference. I highly recommend Gifford auto body. Very satisfied

These guys always take care of us. They know how to deal with insurance and are flexible and able to work with us and our busy schedules. Or if warranted they've sent someone out to our house to make additional adjustments on our vehicle. Best customer service I've ever gotten from a body shop. Knock on wood we won't need to visit them again, but if we are in need of repairs, this is our place, hands down.

Got parts in before I gave them the car, they dealt with adjuster on updating necessary repairs.

On Monday, my Toyota RAV4 broke down near the Manville signal. Suddenly, the steering wheel locked, and the brakes were not working at all. I was clueless about what to do. Fortunately, I saw Gifford Auto Repair just opposite the place where my car stopped. I managed to park my vehicle there and went to Gifford Auto for assistance. Mac, a mechanic from Gifford Auto, came to inspect my car. He discovered that the battery was dead and recommended replacing it. I agreed to this since Mac identified the problem on the spot, just opposite their workshop.
They charged me $259.41 for an EXIDE battery, and with labor charges and taxes, the total came to $350. After replacing the battery, they informed me that the alternator was also not working and needed to be replaced. For the alternator, they quoted $317 plus labor charges and taxes, bringing the total cost to nearly $850.
I decided to check prices with different auto suppliers in Bridgewater. I found that alternator prices ranged from $158 to $217. The next day, Cathy from Gifford Auto called me, yelling and insisting that I needed to confirm the repair immediately and provide the alternator within half an hour because they are primarily a body repair shop and have other customers waiting.
I went to PDQ suppliers, located just behind Gifford Auto Repair, and purchased the alternator for $158 plus a $60 core charge and tax. Upon returning the old alternator, I received a $60 refund. PDQ also confirmed that the EXIDE battery cost $159 plus taxes, with a $19 refund upon returning the old battery.
Despite their urgency, I waited outside Gifford Auto for two hours, and no mechanic started working on my vehicle. When I repeatedly called to inquire about the status, they stopped answering my calls. The next morning, they informed me that the vehicle would take more time, but later confirmed that it was ready. They billed me a total of $550, not including the alternator.
For alternator replacement, they charged 2.8 hours of labor at $85 per hour. While I was okay with the battery cost, the labor charges seemed excessive. I requested a reduction in labor charges, but Cathy and Mac were very harsh in their response, which was unacceptable. While it's their right to deny the request, there is no excuse for rude behavior. They didn't return the old battery after charging double the price because they would get another $19 as core charges from the supplier.
I rated them poorly due to Cathy and Mac's behavior and the overpriced charges. If any insurance company representatives are reading this, please review their billing practices. For individuals needing vehicle repairs, I recommend sourcing parts from PDQ, just behind Gifford Auto, to avoid paying double the original price. I would like to commend Kelly at Gifford Auto for her help.
