“This is a response to Christopher Williams' Review below:
I am the customer that the Newark Whole Foods manager assisted and am addressing the inaccuracies in Christopher Williams’ recent review. As a regular customer of this store, I feel it is important to provide an accurate account of what transpired and to acknowledge the professionalism demonstrated by the Whole Foods staff.
During my visit, I was in the spice aisle and saw Mr. Williams browsing the shelves. I patiently waited for him to finish before moving forward with my basket. I made sure my basket was out of the way and positioned myself to allow others to shop comfortably. Once Mr. Williams moved away, I approached the spices but maintained a considerate distance, giving him plenty of space.
Shortly after, Mr. Williams returned to the spice aisle. Instead of allowing us both to shop respectfully, he positioned himself directly in front of me, blocking my access. I wasn't sure if he saw me or not so I calmly and politely said, "Excuse me," hoping to share the space without any issue. When he did not respond, I gently said, "Hello?" to ensure he heard me. His immediate reaction was to give me a dismissive side-eye and accuse me of not speaking nicely, which was not the case. I reiterated that I had spoken to him politely and suggested that we could both look at the spices without obstructing each other.
At this point, Mr. Williams' demeanor shifted dramatically. He began to yell, curse, and direct verbal abuse toward me. His language was inappropriate, and his volume drew the attention of other shoppers. I maintained my composure and responded by raising my hand, saying, "I am fasting," because it is the month of Ramadan, and as Muslims, we are not supposed to get angry or engage in this kind of behavior. Becoming angry could potentially break our fast. I then walked away, hoping to diffuse the situation. However, as I moved away, he continued to shout obscenities and insults.
His continued aggression led me to seek assistance from the customer service desk. I explained the situation to the cashier, who promptly called the manager. When the manager arrived, I recounted the incident, emphasizing that I had not responded with anger or disrespect despite the man's harassment. The manager reassured me that Whole Foods does not tolerate such behavior and asked me to discreetly identify Mr. Williams, which I did.
I want to highlight that the Whole Foods team member handled this situation with exceptional professionalism. He addressed Mr. Williams calmly and fairly, explaining that if I had been the aggressor, he would have addressed me in the same manner. At no point did the manager exhibit aggression or use inappropriate language, as Mr. Williams falsely claimed in his review. Instead, the manager maintained a respectful and measured approach, handling the situation, while upholding store policy.
It is disappointing to see Mr. Williams' attempt to reverse the narrative and disparage a dedicated employee. His portrayal of the events is not only untrue but also unfair to the Whole Foods team member who acted with integrity and care. I believe it is important to share the truth of this encounter to preserve the employee’s good reputation and to reinforce that Whole Foods remains a safe and welcoming environment for all customers.
I am deeply grateful for the support I received from the Whole Foods staff member. His quick and fair handling of the situation ensured that I could continue my shopping without fear or discomfort. His actions are a testament to the store’s commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere.”
“I always look forward to shopping at Whole Foods. Everyone so nice when you need assistance and love all the Healthy options to choose from when you need to prepare your meals or just get food at the salad bar.”
“Today I was in a good mood so I decided to break my wallet and spend double on food that I could have gotten at ShopRite but decided to be like a rich white person and buy the same food minus the packaging while I packaged it myself in plastic LOL”

“I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Whole Foods, and I simply cannot rave enough about the exceptional service I received from Paloma. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome that set the tone for a fantastic shopping experience.
What truly set this visit apart, however, was the exceptional assistance I received from Paloma. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the products and where they were sourced, but she also went above and beyond to provide personalized recommendations and share valuable insights about various items. Her passion for healthy living and sustainable eating shone through in every conversation, and it was evident that she genuinely cared about helping me find the best options for my needs.
One aspect that really stood out to me was Paloma's genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. She took the time to listen to my preferences and dietary restrictions, ensuring that I left the store with precisely what I needed. Her friendly and approachable demeanor made the entire experience not only seamless but also incredibly enjoyable. It's rare to encounter such a dedicated and personable employee who truly embodies the values of the brand.
Furthermore, throughout my shopping trip, Paloma consistently demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and efficiency. Whether it was assisting me in finding a specific item or providing valuable information about the products, her expertise was truly invaluable. It's evident that she takes great pride in her role and goes above and beyond to ensure that every customer receives unparalleled service.
In addition to Paloma's exceptional assistance, I was thoroughly impressed with the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the store. The layout was intuitive, and the displays were immaculately organized, making it a joy to navigate. The commitment to sustainability was also evident throughout the store, from the environmentally friendly packaging to the emphasis on locally sourced products.
I left Whole Foods feeling not only satisfied with my purchases but also incredibly grateful for the outstanding service provided by Paloma. I cannot speak highly enough of her dedication, knowledge, and genuine passion for what she does. She is a true asset to the Whole Foods team, and her exemplary customer service has undoubtedly earned my loyalty as a shopper.
In conclusion, my experience at Whole Foods was nothing short of extraordinary, and it was largely due to the exceptional assistance of Paloma. The store's commitment to quality, sustainability, and community engagement is truly commendable, and I wholeheartedly recommend this location to anyone seeking a premium shopping experience. I will certainly be returning, knowing that I can count on the remarkable service and expertise of Paloma, who made my visit an unforgettable one. Five stars doesn't seem like enough to rate this outstanding experience!”
“I have been part of other food coops in Brooklyn. Yup, that one that is often mocked in the NYT. ( You can mock it but they built a multimillion dollar business so mock it all you want the hippies built a sustainable model for a grocery store with lots of good organic options.) Thirty years ago people thought we all joined a cult in these food coops. Yup that's right. Usually you join a food coop group with a work commitment to keep the project going, then you get a box of veggies or groceries weekly or so. Fast forward to the present many things food related are a club of sorts. Turns out its not so crazy to join a group and get special food needs met and its also not so crazy to work a bit for it. Anyways Purple Dragon is a food coop, like a buying club, not so much a CSA or community supported agriculture. Although i could be wrong... correct me please. I have been on and off part of this group for 5 years. When i am part of it, I like the affordable box of veggies. There is a good amount of fruit, salad items and veggies to cook. When i come off the subscription its mainly when I cook less in the summer or when i go out of town. The cons. They often include this crazy handout that is crammed with info which i dont read. My eyes are pretty bad. Sometimes you get rutabaga... not my favorite. Also ground cherries are weird. You only get what they give you. This could be a con or a pro. I dont mind being assigned my veggies and fruit but sometimes i do want to buy asian veggies. The pros. Great lettuce. Great organic produce. Often it was boston bib. And often its organic romaine. Great tomatoes and organic bananas that taste amazing. They have it in many towns in the central NJ area like South Orange snd Maplewood.”

“Has everything you need. From protein powders to prostate pills. Gnc will offer you your basic nutritional needs, this one is no different. The staff is friendly knowledgeable more so on gnc products because they get trained to know more about their brand and always suggest them. However most are somewhat educated on the other products that they have in stock. Inventory is always stocked and they will even order online and mail it to you if out of stock or check the database to see if a nearby location has any on hand. They also have monthly promotions mainly bogo's. If your a beginner, a serious fitness fanatic, or just need some muti vitamins this location should be able to meet your needs. Will add they are a little on the pricey side but most vitamins store are, hey you pay for convince.”

“I went to this GNC on an impulse to purchase a product which I wasn't sure was sold here. Suchet was incredibly helpful, kind, and professional in helping me locate what I wanted to purchase, and made recommendations based on my questions. She was the quintessential professional, and I will be back again.”
“I’ve been going to Elite Nutrition since I started competing in 2014, and it has been my go-to supplement store ever since. Maria is amazing, she always has exactly what you need, and if she doesn’t, she’ll go out of her way to find it and order it for you. Her customer service is unmatched. She’s knowledgeable, professional, and truly cares about helping her customers reach their goals. Always available and well-versed in supplements, Maria makes every visit a great experience. Highly recommend!”
