If I could give 0 reviews I would. I came here to get a French tip pedicure and the lady who was servicing me got upset because I complained about my lumpy and badly polished toes. She told me if I can’t afford it to go to Newark (a predominantly black neighbourhood). & then asked me if I knew where I was because this is Maplewood and they service rich people. Never again will I come back here worst experience of my life

I love going to Kim’s. They always doing a great job. I def recommend do make an appointment because it can get very busy in there. I do hard gel with them and Chris is really the best for this job. Kim the owner is mostly around and always walks around to make sure everybody is ok. You even see her sometimes starting a customer till their nail tech is ready.

First time at Kim Salon and I was very impressed! I’m usually quite particular when it comes to getting my nails done, but this salon exceeded my expectations. The space is very clean, and I really appreciated that many of the tools were individually packaged and meant for one-time use — they were immediately disposed of after. Mia did my nails and she was so nice and professional. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely disgusted by the racism my sister experienced at this nail salon! Being a regular at this shop, it's extremely disappointing for her to have experienced this!

I got an acrylic set on, first of all she filed my nails until the skin around them bled and then passed it off as if nothing happened adding “you have sensitive skin.” Before I could even tell her the length I wanted she cut my nail, so I brought up the fact I wanted them slightly longer. She refused and cut the rest telling me that I should just “trust her.” If I am going to pay for a service I should be paying for what I want. I only came because of a gift certificate I received over Christmas, but I paid for the rest out of pocket. I’d also like to add that my thumb nails came out uneven. This is not my first time coming here but it will definitely be my last. If you’re a high schooler or a teenager like me they will try to up charge you as well. Not a good service.

We love this salon!! We have been going for years!! The staff are always so kind and talented! Our favorite is Stella! She makes my daughter and I feel very special! One time, we were in the salon and Adam Sandler and his daughter were there too!! Anyway- I highly recommend Kim's Nails!!

I tried this place out because I couldn’t get to my usual nail lady. I asked for the almond shape and the nail tech (Mia) filed my nails horribly- they are lean. Especially my index. I told her during the appointment that it is lean and she made little to no effort to fix it. Now I have to get a brand new set on my next appointment . I do not recommend

The first time I went here was great, but the second time made me never want to return. The man doing my pedicure was so rough, he hurt my ankle with whatever he used to scrub my feet and left a red mark on me. They also wanted to remove my dip nails while I was in the pedicure chair, forcing me to turn at an awkward angle. The woman doing that also didn’t let the acetone sit long enough, so she had to scrape off the polish with a metal tool which ruined my nails. 6 months later my nails have finally recovered, and I’ll find somewhere else to go!

I don’t normally go here but I got a gift card for the holidays so I’ve been coming here now & then for pedicures. I knew it smelled like mold upstairs & things weren’t seemingly as clean as my usual place but since I had the gift card I went anyways. BAD DECISION. Now I am left with a fungal infection on my foot & it’s very irritating & upsetting. Now I cannot go get pedicures & it’s about to be summer! I’m so upset. They think if they put that liner in the foot bath they don’t have to clean?! That makes no sense all that water is touching every inch of the bath & in turn my feet.

The owner was very nasty. I honestly should’ve left the minute I asked for gel and she made a joke “it’s $60 meaning don’t complain later”. Not sure if it was because I was black but made me feel very uncomfortable never busted after that. Now I see why it’s a 3.5 rating on Google. Do better

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!
I paid $70 for Dipping Powder nails which broke in 4days.When I went back to request to fix it,I'm told I have to pay an additional $5 for each nail that the polish came off and told my nails broke which is funny because I pay extra to do the dipping powder and it usually lasts 2/3 weeks.
The wait time was horrible because everyone getting their nails done was seen before me even though they came after and the lady that helped me was extremely rude and very aggressive.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!!

So upset! Brought my mother in law in for a manicure —it was her first time ever going to a nail salon. She is elderly and uses a walker and has never been comfortable going. I was excited to pamper her and show her a nice time but her service was TERRIBLE. She got a basic manicure and was done in 5mins(literally). A quick cut file and two coats of paint(she could’ve used more with her light pink). I addressed the front desk person about it because the nail tech was no where to be found. I clarified that mom had no hot towel, no hand lotion, no shoulder massage as they usually do. She said that’s not true, the tech did all of the above (as if she was watching). I however was sitting right next to mom and didn’t see any of this. Regardless of the details, the service was undoubtedly rushed and the tech was impersonal/ill-mannered to say the least.
No going back to Kim’s nails.
