Maplewood Hobby is a friendly local game store and the premier gaming store in New Jersey. It is a unique business with a rustic, cozy, and cluttered atmosphere. The shop has the best selection of hobby and modeling paints and related supplies, especially for wargaming figures, including Tamiya, green stuff, Testors, polystyrene, and Citadel supplies. It offers a wide variety of games, every possible tabletop war game, and an incredible miniature collection. The staff is friendly, helpful, educated, and welcoming to new gamers and hard core gamers alike. They have a huge play area with a big table with terrain in the back to host games, staying open late on Friday nights for groups. Twice a year, the store hosts an auction that offers amazing bargains. It is easily the best hobby shop in the NYC area and is highly recommended.
This is where my step son plays Magic the Gathering and buys cards. He likes it a lot. My husband likes it too when he goes. There are a lot of old school game things to purchase as well. The people who work there are very nice and well informed. I definitely recommend it if Magic is your vibe!!!
