This is the second time Sam Tan has saved a computer of mine. I first was introduced to him 6 years ago when a data recovery company I used referred me to him. I had spilled an entire bottle of water on my MacBook Pro keyboard and Sam was able to completely restore it, replace the battery and return it to me for a very reasonable fee. It is still working despite it being a 2014 laptop. My husband uses it as his backup computer.
Recently, our newer MacBook’s screen malfunctioned. I first took it to a verified Apple repair location and they quoted me half the cost of a new laptop. Then I remembered Sam. He was able to replace my screen for significantly less than the other store and even got my laptop back to me in a few days’ time, despite a huge snowstorm that shut down the East Coast.
Would highly recommend Sam anytime! He is lovely and does a great job.

Walked in and I was getting scammy vibes off the jump. I went in because my laptop wouldn’t turn on but I knew what was wrong with it and what he had to do to fix it since it’s happened to me twice before. I tried telling him this and that it would likely be a 10 minute fix. He proceeded to try and get me to drop off the laptop and pay a $75 “expert consulting fee” or something like that and then when I picked up the laptop I would pay for the actual labor that he would have to do. Keep in mind, I know what’s wrong with it and what he has to do to fix it. I told him there is no way I’m paying for that and took it to Geek Squad instead. Spoiler alert: I was there for 10 minutes and they fixed my laptop for free. Save your money, you’re better off finding any other laptop repair store. This dude’s pricing is so crazy that I almost respect it. 2 stars instead of 1 because in reality he’s probably not a bad dude and I respect him for trying to hustle me lol.

TanMax did a very good job for me. My computer crashed on a Saturday morning after weeks of problems. TanMax was able to transfer all my data files and have
a new Windows 11 computer ready to pickup by mid-afternoon. Many thanks!

I have been to Tan Max a few times over the last few years. I went one time to have a new battery installed along with software to protect against viruses. Another time I went to have another issue worked on - everything on the computer screen was moving around. Happy with the service both times.
Most recently, this past week, I took my computer in because there was a cracked screen and another crack below the screen. Sam said that he would take a look at it and give me an estimate on the cost of the repairs. It would have been almost as much as buying a new computer so I purchased a brand new one from Sam and also had him install some things and transfer some data from my old computer.
I was extremely pleased with the work that he did and am happy with the new computer. First rate, professional services at Tan Max. I would not go anywhere else because Sam is always thorough and patient with explaining things.

It was a pleasure having my data recovered from Tan Max Computer Services. Not only did Sen recover my photos from my iPhone 4s, but also my contacts and other data as well. Definitely recommend him to anyone in the North Jersey area that needs iOS data recovery.

He took my computer in perfect working condition and gave it back to me with parts missing saying it was defective. Do not trust this business they will harvest parts from your computer to resell / fix other computers.

Dropped soup on my Samsung Galaxy Book 3360. Took it to Tan Max and he told me that it needed a new motherboard. Total cost was under $400. A refurbished one would have cost me ~$600. Saved myself $200 and he had it ready in about a week. I would go back if I had other hardware problems.

The paper you sign does not say a policy about no refunds when he makes a mistake
Previous: Hoping to get issue resolved when they come back from vacation. $70 for a incorrect diagnostic alone is very frustrating, this issue was not fixed for even a decent amount of time

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. He is a liar, smiles, promises a lot of stuff, but in reality does not do anything. I left my laptop, he said he will call an hour later, I was sitting in the car in front of his store, hour later he just walked away, I called him, he started to say he needs my apple id, password, to do the clean up. The next day he called me and said the chip was burned, I came to see it, right after I entered he started to offer data recovery services for $1200, using his special machine in his data recovery lab...This guy is a story teller.

Needed screen replaced. Charged $20 for diagnostic. Sam opened phone but forgot to put back my Sim card causing me to return to store. Came back 3 days later when part was in. Waited over two hrs. Got new screen but speaker all of a sudden didn't work. Could not make calls! Since he had to order new speaker and I needed phone he took new screen off, gave me back phone but couldn't find tray to put sim card back! Had to return an hour later to put sim card back, but it did NOT work! Had to buy NEW phone.
