Never join Jersey Strong gym on Rt 516 in Old Bridge, NJ. Two months later and I'm still waiting for credit regarding cancellation for personal training I had signed up for. They lie and give you the run around, probably in an attempt for customers to eventually give up so they can keep your money. They constantly change their stories. One minute they said I would have to wait for a check to come in the mail for my credit back. The next time I called, they said they would credit my card on file. Two months later and still no credit. I've called them 5-6 times. Why does it take so long to credit someone's account??? Special mention about Nick (? Manager of Back Office). He ignored my 3 follow up emails regarding my credit that I'm still waiting for. After he told me I should receive a credit back to my card on file, I still see NO Credit back. This company steals customers' money. Plus, I never heard of a company that has no corporate office. When I called number they gave me, I was told that they don't handle credits for personal training and are not allowed to give out corporate office number because it is "private." I wish I had read BBB reviews first. I would never had joined this gym or signed up for their personal training. If I could give them a ZERO STAR review, I would. Beware. Stay away from this gym!!!

False advertising. Received 3 ads from Freehold, Marlboro and Manalapan locations for a 6 weeks transformation challenge. Read FREE! Clicked on the ad and someone reached out to set up an appointment to come in. Came in then after being there an hour, was told it's $499 for members. Shocked! Went home to find one of the ads again to confirm I read it right. I did. Reads FREE. This is false advertising! Requested to speak to a supervisor from the Marlboro location. Waiting!!!

Signed my boys up, but when they went off to school, the cancellation process was a total nightmare. Highly predatory and took several phone calls to a foreign country and a lot of aggravation and extra hidden “cancellation” fees.

Horrible. Have not been to gym for minimum of 6 months and decided to terminate my account after 4 years. Had to jump through massive hoops to terminate and even then there was a fee!!! Told them they charged me for last six months so why am I paying a fee to terminate when they made this money off me for last six months with me not going. CRIMINALS!!! Their customer service cares only about making a buck off you. Go somewhere else.

Pros: affordable, decent amount of equipment that's moderately well maintained.Cons: often feels like a middle school PE class with the amount of children that get dropped off here. Some machine's weight info is completely worn off.Bottom line: Jersey Strong is kind of in a weird spot. If you're looking for an inexpensive gym you might want to look at one of the $10/mo options and if you're willing to spend a bit more per month you'll probably have better access to equipment because there will be less kids just hanging out there.

I highly recommend Claudia Addison for personal training regardless of your fitness level or age. She is dedicated and personable. My training is customized to my goals yet varied and challenging. She is great at explaining correct form to maximize results and minimize injury. I have learned a lot from our sessions.

Wanted to share my review of Jason Zell. He has been my personal trainer for the past 5 months. He developed a special program for me based on my needs and everytime we get together we focus on different parts of the body. He has given me advice on what protein drinks to have, which bars are good for me, mapped out eating plan to help me lose weight. If you want someone who listens to you and your needs and builds a specific program designed for your needs, Jason is the man to go see

Look no further than Jason Zell if you need personal training - extremely informative, approachable, and motivating. Has made the entire gym experience a 10/10 for months now, definitely an asset to Marlboro Jersey Strong.

This is the worst gym, and completely ripped me off.I signed up for this gym with all of my friends. I signed up for a student plan as the manager told me, and all my friends did as well. Then I froze my account and instead of charging me 5$ then began charging me 10$. Then without my consent they unfroze my account and started charging me hundreds of dollars. I contacted them and they said they would figure it out. I followed up with and they said it would be taken care of. Then in March they called and said if I do not pay 1400$ they would kill my credit record. As a student 1400$ is a lot of money. They gave me no alternative and pointed me to corporate. When I tried to reach out, the corporate was rude, and told me nothing can work out. Never sign up for Jersey strong, especially if u are a student. Hidden fees, lack of respect, ripped off, and unwillingness to figure things out is all you will get.

Need to tell you and everyone. Livia's 9AM Barre class this morning (in the BIG room) was awesome!!! She is my favorite instructor.. I follow her to 5 locations. It's been 2 years that I've been a member and she is just the best!... Her energy is what makes everyone push themselves to be better.. I am grateful to have found someone like her...

Our family joined Jersey Strong a month ago & we’re so happy we did.John (Marlboro location) was so professional & helpful in explaining the membership that we bypassed the free trial & joined up. There was no pressure & he’s certainly an asset to Jersey Strong. He was knowledgeable and answered every question & we didn’t feel rushed.We’ve gone back and forth between the Manalapan & Marlboro location & both are fantastic. I love that the gyms are clean & the equipment well kept. Both locations are spacious, and have plenty of equipment to please everyone! Never overcrowded & a nice mixed crowd. The 24 hour access at the Marlboro location is also a huge benefit. They have a ladies only section, group classes, studio classes, customized workouts, personal coaching, turf training, etc. Something for everyone! There’s plenty of parking in both those locations we’ve worked out at. I also like that they have wipe stations. Another huge benefit is that you have several Jersey Strong locations to choose from.After just 1 month I’ve seen enough to confidently recommend a Jersey Strong membership. Michelle is greatZumba instructor . I love to take her class she is so energetic and love her song selection . I would recommend her class to anyone who loves to dance.

CON ARTISTS TO THE MAX!!! Will lie to you just to get you to sign up. I specifically asked if there would be a penalty to cancel membership to which the employee corey told me no as long as I can prove I am moving states. Fast forward to now, THAT WAS A LIE. And Corey is now denying that he ever said that. And good luck getting a live person to talk to about your situation… Ive already “opened a ticket” and havent heard back. The billing company is INTENTIONALLY outsourced to another country that barely speaks english so the burden of dealing with actual issues isnt dealt with on a local level. Im SO disgusted….
