“I love this place! Sarah, the owner is so nice and super helpful if you have any questions. I just came across this shop while driving one day and now it’s on my regular thrift rotation. It’s clean and items are easy to sift through. Also, there’s ALWAYS new things coming in so I’m destined to leave with SOMETHING. A perk is puppy Lulu who is always happy to greet customers! Absolutely stop in for some great finds!”

“I drove from nyc to this store because my friends raved about the treasures here and I ended up leaving with 18 items. The prices I got for brands like Alexander wang, Miu Miu, Alice & Olivia, Ferragamo, and there’s so much Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada, truly insane!!!! I compared what I purchased to eBay and some items were 80% less (not exaggerating) than online secondhand stores. I almost don’t want to write this review because it’s my secret weapon store now. I will be going every month or two and I don’t even think I need to shop anywhere else as they have literally everything to make an anmazing outfit. I think the absolute best part is that the girls working the store turn into personal stylists who will help you assemble the perfect outfit for any occasion. I don’t know, I’m just truly blown away!!!! The only reason I’m writing this review is because they are so kind and they deserve the credit but dang, what a hidden treasure!!! I’ll write a second review with photos of everything I got.”

“I came into the store on a Saturday looking for a 100% camel wool/cashmere coat and found one for $520. I noticed some wear and tear on it though and gently asked if it could be discounted a bit. The employee (Hermann, hope I'm spelling it right) kindly re-priced it at $450 but offered to call the coat's original seller to negotiate a lower price (and would call me back in a day or so). I almost lost hope when I didn't hear back for a few days but Hermann encouraged me to come back to the store and after calling the seller multiple times, he was able to offer a re-price for $270! I was extremely shocked with the unexpected steep discount and am very grateful for Hermann's professionalism, patience and care with my inquiry for days. Will definitely revisit this store again! ?”
“so much awesome inventory - i personally love their embellished blazers, dresses and shoes collections. prices are comparable to sample sale pricing (50-70% off retail) and they have a lot of new with tags items. be prepared to dig - there is a TON spanning 2 levels!”

As a plus size person, it is hard to find true vintage, but they have a huge selection - and best of all, the owner doesn't mark it up just because it's larger, like some places do. She also said she has a ton in storage, so if there's anything I am looking for, I can let her know next time I am stopping by and she'll grab some things. Made me feel special! “My friend and I were visiting Queens from DC, and we walked by this shop on the way to Milkflower for pizza and we had to double back. The mannequin was dressed so well that I bought the entire outfit. The sales girl was so nice & helpful. They have a very good eye for clothes, and I like that she advised me on my purchases instead of simply trying to get me to buy everything.
My friend bought a really pretty ring. I picked up a vintage beaded bag, a Y2K era faux fur jacket, and two new dresses. They sell both new and second hand treasures here. I found the prices to be reasonable and the condition of the items to be good.”

“Hollywood Heros has two things going for it. 1) An amazing, incredible selection of toys, new and vintage. 2) The nicest owners possible. My 12 y.o. son is a huge Star Wars collector, and he discovered HH on Yelp about. year ago. We've gone maybe a dozen times now even though it's an hour round trip. We often find rare and impossible to get items here and if it's not on the shelves, it's probably in their basement, so just ask. We became friendly with Jordan and Val on our trips there, and Jordan has been especially gracious. He always has time to talk, answer questions, and be friendly. Even when we come to just window shop, we still have great talks. Recently my son was looking for an ARC-170 gunship, and Jordan and Val had just gotten one in that had missing parts, and they gave it to my son as a thank you for being a loyal customer. It made my son's month. The store is a block from the central shopping district, so when we go we get bagels or Korean chicken and make a day out of it, or go the few blocks to Trader Joes. I know a Trader Joes isn't a selling point for a store specifically, but as a parent of someone who loves shopping here it's nice to have a cute town that can be part of the experience.”
“I used to volunteer here in 2017-2019 and they had very good clothing donations that were all sent to auctions or best of season events. What you’re left with every day is $15 USED h&m t-shirts that cost $9.99 new, random trinkets that if you buy, you get rid of after a year, and stupid overpriced designer items.
So today I walked by the store and saw that they were doing the best of fall. There was a line but im disabled and I showed them proof and asked if there was anywhere I could sit while I waited and they said just ask the person at the end of the line if you can join them when they’re at front. I said ok and waited 50 minutes. The person I talked to left and I asked them what I could do. They said they I could just stand at the end of the line, disregarding my disability. The third person I asked said she could give me a folding chair and wait at the end of the 100 person line. I waited for like 5 minutes and realized I had to pick up a prescription sooo. Bye chair lol.”
“do not expect real thrift store prices at this location. for example, a men's polo ralph lauren button down goes for about $35. that being said, their items are well-curated and include good brands like theory, DVF, emporio armani, etc. they are also consistently in good condition and support a great cause. shoe selection at this store is also exceptionally good in comparison to other locations - manolo blahnik, ferragamo and jimmy choo are regularly spotted here”

“I really love this store I been going every couple of weeks and everytime I go i grab a good find ?. The only thing I wish is that they had a few days exchange policy, I went yesterday and found some camera film i instantly grabbed it since my camera is old and film is hard to find and it was for the same brand as mine, looked like the same exact catridge when I checked it, it was for my camera technically but was for a newer version than the one I have ? so now i have 0 use for it. I would love to at least be able to exchange as it was $10. I totally understand no refunds policy But I guess you win some you loose some. Definitely still gonna go back.”

“I dropped off 3 bags of clothes, 1 winter jacket, and 4 bags of shoes at the ground-floor entrance. Based on the reviews, I thought I needed to go upstairs, but following the donation sign, there were two individuals on the ground floor who stated that donations should be dropped off there. I placed all of my items in the designated bin, and at the same time, two other individuals also dropped off their donations.
I had donated clothes at another Salvation Army location many years ago, and I remember the experience being very welcoming. The person assisting me was friendly and asked whether I would like a receipt. When I was looking for a place to donate this time, I thought of the Salvation Army again because of that positive past experience.
Hopefully, I followed the correct process this time. The drop-off itself was easy, but there wasn’t much guidance, and no one asked whether I needed a receipt. Overall, the experience was convenient, but it could have been better with clearer instructions and a more welcoming interaction.”

“I really love this thrift store, i usually spend 3-4 hours going through everything which is what you need to do if you want to find high quality items for low prices. Yes, they mark up name brands or random pieces they think are high quality (almost everything from Loft is priced at $15 or more for some reason, you’ll be lucky if you find anything from Harley Davidson for less than $40) but truly you can find some amazing stuff if you just take the time to look. I always leave with a full cart of stuff and am super happy because the daily discounted colors make a huge difference in the pricing. Yes, the lighting downstairs isn’t great, yes, it smells like a thrift store, and yes, it’s in Paterson NJ which isn’t the most beautiful city in the state, but it is 100% worth it IMO.”
