Very disappointing food considering the inflated prices. I would expect this level of quality from a mall food court, not from a well known high-end Japanese/Chinese restaurant. The shrimp was so mushy, I could barely eat it. How could you screw up a basic Chinese shrimp with vegetables dish? I can make a better shrimp stir fry at home. The other entree was bland with no sauce so we had to dump soy sauce all over it. Two out of three sushi rolls were okay. One of the premium rolls had an undetermined topping on it (a strange substitution for what was supposed to be on it per the menu). I did not appreciate that surprise when paying $18 for this roll. We will not be back.

Be careful to order sushi or a standard Japanese entree at this Chinese/Japanese restaurant. If not you may be in trouble, as we experienced the non-Japenese entrees can be very bad, and the staff will not agree with you.We ordered the Japanese entree Beef Udon and the non-Japaneae entree baked "Black Bass" at the restaurant, just because it looked attractive on the menu, and our server agreed with our choice. The Udon entree was delicious, and even had very nicely marinated and cooked beef as well as a rich tasty broth. Unfortunately, the "Black Bass" entree was the opposite, as it was not fresh, and not cooked well, with a mushy consistency. When we complained that we found the non-Japanese entree sub-par to the server she told us she would let the manager know. She then told us the manager disagreed with our complaint and would not remove the entree, but would give us a free dessert. We agreed and received the smallest "free" dessert we have ever seen, which was three small soup spoons with a small scoop of ice cream on each spoon.Beware going to this restaurant if you may consider ordering non-Japanese.

Ordered chicken chow mein for delivery. To my understanding and experience (and from many Google searches), chow mein is stir-fried noodles with vegetables. What arrived was literally just boiled chicken in an unidentified sauce with cabbage and onions…. No noodles in sight. I called the restaurant to see if my order got switched with someone else’s or something. Whoever answered tried to tell me that chow mein doesn’t have noodles in it. Literally what? I was in Chinatown last week and had chow mein and was served noodles. Incredibly annoying and disappointing.

Chicken with garlic sauce was decent. Aoyama normally always has the best Chinese food. The restaurant is cute inside. Service was ok.

I've had two nice visits to Aoyama. They're right up the road from me, so the convenience definitely plays a role in my rating. The sushi is of good quality. On my second visit I sat at the bar and the itamae working all the sushi prep magic was very attentive asking how everything was. The atmosphere is nice as well with clean surroundings and a non-cluttered setup.

BUG IN FOOD.I ordered $90 worth of food. I was charged $13 for something I didn’t order and the girl who took my order argued with me about it. I also found a bug in my food. When I called the manager he would only offer a 20% refund for a BUG in my food. They were argumentative and not helpful. Definitely will not be returning.

The inside of the establishment is very neat and organized, the staff is also very friendly, however the food is subpar at best. The Szechuan dumplings were absolutely inedible, the double sautéed pork was fine in flavor but not spicy as it was advertised and the pork seemed more like chicken, my friend got the general Taos chicken and did not enjoy it he described it as “one big clump of fried dough”. The best part of the meal was the sprite. The food came out very quickly and left me wondering how you can double sauté pork and make it taste like chicken that quickly. It was floppy and very pale. You could taste the frying oil on the chicken and it very clearly needed to be changed. The dumplings were slimy, doughy, incredibly oily, and left me feeling uncomfortable. Will not be going back.

Have been dining here for 12 years (except for one year they were closed because of fire). Always excellent Japanese and Chinese food. Hamachi Kama is the best! And takeout is a great option during Covid.
