“Was looking online for a reliable, honest mechanic I could trust, since mechanic that once serviced my vehicles for 10+ years was no longer in service. Came across Universal auto repair and they great reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. Explained exactly what I was experiencing when driving. At first glance they couldn’t pin point the issue but with a bit more info from me they figured it out. Also had inspections/emission and daylight replaced. “BEST SERVICE EVER!!! I’m 5 months pregnant and have 2 toddlers at home. So when my car battery stopped working this morning it was the last thing I needed to happen. I called around to different shops early in the morning and came across this one. The man who answered the phone was eager to help and told me I can come by right away. Mind you this was like 8 am. I dropped off my car and was told they will look at it today. Later in the day, not only did they figure out the problem, but they got me a new battery and put it in!!! So before they closed my issue was not only diagnosed but also fixed at an extremely good price!!! They went above and beyond what I could’ve asked for and made it possible to me to be able to drive my kids to daycare tomorrow and get to my doctor’s appointment. “My ford vehicle with a garbage 10r80 transmission broke (as expected). The staff were always courteous and explained everything that was going on with my vehicle. The tech was able to diagnose the problem without any check engine lights or codes in the computer. Unfortunately, i needed a new transmission but they installed it quickly and properly and had me on my way in a reasonable time frame. Pricing was in line with other local shops and while a big expense, it wasn’t excessive with extra bs fees. When i picked up my completed vehicle the girl at the front desk was super helpful and the tech came in to discuss in detail what they had to do to complete the job. Excellent work wd trans! Will be back! (Hopefully not soon)”
“My mom took her car to Voorhees Auto about 15 years ago. She thought her engine was done. They looked at it and told her it was only a fuse and didn't even charge her for it. Ever since then we have been going to them. They are so honest and knowledgeable. I just took my truck there to have a coil replaced and a fuel injector. They got each job done within the same day and at a very fair price. This place is the best! I recommend everyone to them. Thank you guys for being so honest and efficient!”
“I was traveling from NY to DC to take my daughter to a concert. The dealership replaced my transmission recently but it started to overheat…I pulled over to get one of those free code checks at an AutoZone and a guy in there suggested I call Anthony and ask him what my issue was. After spending time on the phone with me, he said I can come down….. I still had to get to DC that night so I couldn’t actually get anything fixed so it’s not like Anthony was getting a job out of this call. He knew that and still told me to come by.
He came out, spent 20 minutes or so with me. He ran the codes, and even got under the car to look and tell me what to tell my dealership back home (they didn’t fix my issue the second time).
I offered him a few bucks to at least buy him lunch or something. He refused and just told me to drive safe and have fun at the show.
He didn’t have to do anything really. If I was an Eskimo and Anthony sold ice- I’d buy it from him. He explained more about transmission to me in 5 minutes than my dealership could figure out after 2 full service appointments.
I’m only bummed I don’t live anywhere near AC Transmissions because I’d go there for anything.
If you own a business, do yourself a favor and be like Anthony. My daughter even said when we pulled away, “he was nice”.

“I've been coming here for inspection and maintenance for years. This is definitely one of the best shops around. It's almost always pretty busy so it's best to call ahead to schedule appointment. There's no dedicated parking lot (like most shops in Philly), but there's plenty of street parking nearby when dropping off the vehicle. They always explain if there's any fixes needed and get your approval before doing any work. They never try to push any unnecessary services or charge any surprise fees. A++”

“This was my first time going to Matthey Automotive. I would normally take my car to a mechanic in Westmont but they have a new front office coordinator and I have been considering going to another mechanic. My parents recommended Matthey. Overall, it was a good experience. My car was ready yesterday and it seems to be running well. The price was within $100 of the estimate I got from the other mechanic. The front office coordinator I met is Carl. He seems like a nice guy and I especially liked his bakery recommendation!
