They microwaved my bagel with cream cheese....... I realized this after I got home.I was craving bagels & scallion cream cheese since yesterday and found out about this bagel shop with lots of good reviews so deiced to try out as soon as I get up in the morning. When I first got it the bagels were cold so I asked them if they can toast the bagels and this is what came out. (Maybe I should have asked them to toast it in the first place but didn't know they're gonna use the microwave)I may be too specific about the way I eat the bagels but I believe the bagel is supposed to be hot and crispy and the cream cheese is supposed to be cold and gooey so they make the best combination of a taste. But microwaving ruined all this making the bagel wet and soggy and cream cheese melted. My husband even got a strawberry cream cheese meaning he had to eat the heated strawberries. I just couldn't eat the microwaved version so I scraped the cream cheese out and refrigerated it, toasted the bagels, and made the sandwich again myself..I'm willing to try out this place again for other cream cheese flavors but I hope they do not use the microwave again ?

If I could give a higher rating for the service, I would![For context, I'm a visitor (to the US) passing through Metuchen and decided to stop by here as it was the earliest place open for food. I killed some time here and decided to keep an eye on the on-goings for the last 5 hours or so.]First of all, what you'd expect: Bagels are fresh, spreads are delish, and their portions are sizeable! Of everything there's a wide selection of things made daily. Very typical and hallmarks for a great local place. Passed that, these guys working here (and especially what I assume to be the owner) are (and I can't stress this enough) kind, always busy at work and seemingly super appreciative of their regulars. They also do big orders in advance if you might need to order for a party of people!!!As a coffee addict, they shine here, too, with a nice espresso machine, each of 'em knowing well how to make the drinks on their menu (usual espresso-based+milk coffees). Big cups for a good price. Was able to set myself up with my laptop with no care in the world (especially a take-out place for locals), with more than enough seating for who would need it.Lastly, and maybe least important for random customers, but was very wholesome to see: they're sponsors of some local children teams and use their open wall space for local event posters.Honestly, overall they seem like an absolutely amazing place for anyone passing by, and even moreso a positive business in their community.Thank you guys for the great breakfast and hang-out spot on a lazy morning!!!

Yikety Yikes. Straight no thanks for me going forward. I was in the area and popped in. First they have 2 doors on the main road that are both not able to be used. Makes no sense. Head in and to order you cannot even see the person. So much stuff blocking. Sandwich was lame. Cheese not even melted just dropped on top. Drink was not that cold for being in a fridge. Workers were not really friendly. They were not rude but they looked absolutely miserable. Maybe financial issues? To exit you have to walk past 2 doors that should be able to be used but they blocked off for no good reason. When you cannot allow people to enter and exit properly I should have known you cant make a sandwich. Yikes ?

Love that it’s open early in the morning, freshly baked bagels coming out the oven while your order is being prepared. Bagels are great, if you’re used to NYC bagels then this the place in Metuchen/Edison area to get your bagel fill.

This place IS A MUST GO TO WHEN IN THE AREA ‼️?. I’ll tell you how great this service was, as you walk in you can smell the fresh bagels and the variety of cream cheeses to choose from even vegetarian. They are not stingy with the cream cheese either. I ordered a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese and a hot chocolate with almond milk. The best part was the today specials menu because that’s where I chose the kale and chicken soup. You can sit on the tall chair table or you can relax on their leather couch seats that has a spacious coffee table. I waited 3 maybe 5 minutes tops because my soup was getting freshly heated up. Overall this place had everything I needed and the best part is apparently they have more locations so they must be doing something right. Great detail about this location it’s in the heart of many things like Whole Foods, Walgreens, a gas station and a pastry shop.Parking: There is no parking in the from but on the side there is a parking lot

Heavenly! Even though there were 6 inches of snow, the crew here were cheerfully and efficiently serving up the perfect breakfast. A port in the storm.

I had a lox bagel sandwich. It was just about okay.... These guys need to use gloves when touching meat, while preparing your food, and then they use the same fingers to ring you up at the register. Gross. Practice some basic HYGIENE. At any rate, I will not be returning.
