Edit. Just saw this review that i did not do as I've never been to New jersey, and that first line is horrible. Changing stars to as close to 0 as i can.I've multiple moved times in my life. This was a great move. Everything could not have gone more smoothly. The movers arrived right on time and were incredibly nice and professional. Everything was done in exactly the given window, with the team communicating with me every step of the way. They also included storage that helped out with me and my family finding a place in Vegas. The customer service leading up to, during and following the move were also exceptional. Very communicative and supportive! This entire review is a lie that was done without my knowledge.

Everyone please be aware of these scammers! thieves. I posted almost 6 years ago and I'm posting again as I just wish I could figure out why I lost almost every single pair of shoes I owned over 50 designer shoes, handbags ruined, gold coins stolen, missing silver in boxes that should have NEVER been opened as they were packed by me and sealed. The guy David who states my move was much more than they thought is full of you know what! I did a walk through on my phone with the salesman (Mitch) who totally underwrote the estimate to sell me on using them. At 12:00 AM they were there that late because they arrived 4 hours late) also to put a female in that situation where they said well pay up lady because your stuff is on the truck and we're leaving! Unbelievable! I had to purchase brand new lampshades for every single lamp I own. I repaired more furniture, priceless antiques because of these dimwitted lazy careless movers. I know it seems ridiculous and I'm still angry about it now because no one offered any sort of resolve. It was all lay back on me as it was my fault that I did the packing. These guys ripped me off and they rip you off to. .As I look around my house and realize how many things are missing broken or will never be the same due to traditional van lines moving and storage and the amount of money they charged to destroy my things to have one person tell me F OFF and then more lies! I will make sure that for the rest of my life I will continue to post horrific reviews about this company. As I was adding pictures of more items the people destroyed the photos started disappearing. Absolutely horrible experience. Traditional van lines was hired to move my items through American Standard Moving and Storage. The set pickup date was 05/19/2019 and they arrived on time to pickup and moved everything with ease (the boxes were only items for a small apartment and a couple small pieces of furniture). The move was from CT to AZ and I would be arriving in AZ on 06/01/2019. Expecting it to take a little while for the items to arrive I packed some extra clothes to bring with me. Little did I know it would be almost a two month fiasco to get my items! I called American Standard for an update first after about a week and a half and they had said my items had left the storage warehouse and were on their way and gave me a four-five day estimate. Call again in four days and they state my items actually never left the depot.... Long story short this runaround happens a good three or four times at least until American Standard pretty much says we have no idea what's going on, Traditional Van Lines isn't returning our calls, but the last time we spoke to them they said they'd take $300 off your moving price for being so late (At least this was some consolation). At this point I'm thinking all my belongings are lost and all I'm left with is the clothes I brought with me on the plane. Trying to get a hold of Traditional Van Lines myself was almost impossible as well. I must have called about thirty times with either no response or just a we'll call you back. Finally I found a magical number that gave me someone in the dispatch office...I think...and she said it hadn't left their depot yet! This was a good month later! She assured me it was on it's way and would be there in four days. I get a call for my items to be delivered two days later which makes no sense if the shipment was still at the depot in New Jersey as it takes at least four days with driving regulations to get across the country. On delivery day (7/10/2019 - almost two months after pickup) I get the call on arrival and walk outside to see a regular pickup truck pulling a storage trainer behind it! Not even a real moving van! Two Russian or Albanian guys walk right in ask me where I was my items then ask me to sign for my paperwork and ALMOST don't take the $300 off I was promised for being so late! Upon asking where the guys came from they told me California.........makes no sense. Anyways except for a couple glasses being broken everything looked fine and was intact. After looking at other reviews of this company I've found that people moving to the Phoenix area seem to have real problems here, something a little fishy going on... I will never use this company or any broker company again and recommend others to stay away as well and to double check any brokers before booking.

I bought brand new boxes for the move and when they finally arrived at their destination (2 weeks after the projected delivery date), each and every box was damaged as though it had been dropped down flights of stairs. They also tried to up-charge me to bring the boxes in and left before I could sign the inventory slip. And in the process they lost at least 2 of my boxes. Even one star is too much for this company and I pray no one else makes the same mistake that I did. DO NOT use this mover or MovingAPT.

Made the mistake of contracting with a Broker, who in turn sub-contracted our move to Traditional. This was an out-of-state move, including approx. 6-8 months of storage between pick-up and delivery. Long-story short...Traditional is one of the most inept and unscrupulous companies I've ever worked with. On pick-up day, they tried to up-charge me for packing services, after the rate had already been agreed with the Broker. Once we resolved that issue (somewhat), the company commenced with the load, which resulted in any number of crushed boxes, and damaged goods. It took over two months to determine where our goods were stored, and when we were finally granted access to that facility, we discovered that all our possessions had been "crammed" in to two storage bins, when three would have been more appropriate, given the number of items. Suffice to say, many of our boxes were crushed, and other items damaged during this time. Upon delivery to our new residence, the company hired local "contractors" to unload, and many additional boxes and items were further damaged (including glass and dishware, as well as a very expensive fireplace with insert (this piece was virtually destroyed). On top of that, we discovered a number of missing items, including a refrigerator, our dining room table-top and a dresser...not to mention several boxes of clothing. It was determined that these items were left off the original manifest, having been stored in another unit (that no one seemed to know about), and it took another week before they could be delivered. And so it goes...

I originally hired Colonial Van Lines to move us from Massachusetts to Florida, however, without my knowledge, Colonial subbed the job out to Traditional Van Lines based out of NJ. We were told our furniture was going to be sent to a warehouse in Tampa and we were to call two days prior to when we wanted our home goods delivered to our new home. We called them on February 12th to inform them that we will be moving in on the 14th. When the furniture didn’t come, we resorted to using air mattresses. On the first night, my wife fell off the air mattress and broke her shoulder. I called Colonial to ask about my furniture and I told them of the accident with my wife, I didn’t receive any apologies, they seemed like they didn’t even care, and that I needed to call them back in 2 days and they would update me about the status of my furniture. At one point, they told me it was in Jacksonville in a warehouse and that they would get back to me. The next time I called, they told me it was still in NJ. My furniture finally arrived Feb 25th with $1200 damage to by Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and many items were broken, including some antiques I bought while I was in the UK. Also, many of my brand new toolsets were missing, I presumed stolen. Then, about 2 weeks after we received our stuff, a moving truck pulled up with more of our stuff that they claimed they found at the warehouse. Every time I called them, I got the old “you need to talk to so and so” run-a-round. I was told I could put a claim in, and they said it would settle between 90 and 100 days. I placed my claim for $3200 and they gave me a settlement of $450. They knew they had, because small claims court told me I had to file where the moving contract was signed, in Massachusetts. What a dysfunctional company, both companies. My advice to anybody, put your stuff in a POD, use your own lock, and your stuff will be safe.

Recently, I experienced a death in my family, causing extreme hardship. After arrangements I had to relocate my mother from New Jersey to Texas. Where I could care for her. I hired Traditional they showed up highly professional with a 3 man crew to pack, secure and move the entire 5 bedroom house. The Foreman Sergio was very polite most importantly he worked closely with my mother and I. Delicately packing each and every item each and every room. The guys started at 9am and were done by 1pm, I never seen a moving company so fast and efficient. When the job was over I felt satisfaction and compelled to write this review.

Avoid this moving company!!! Outright fraud as well as fraudulent practices!! The fraud was that they tried to use a fake weight ticket that showed our household goods weighed 31,000 lbs and we were expecting 21,000 lbs. When the driver arrived at our new house he showed us a paper weight ticket with our goods weighing 21,000 lbs. Then during a phone call to make the final payment, there was a new weight ticket with our goods at 31,000 lbs. The moving company office sent a photo of the weight ticket to the driver's cell phone. So instead of accepting the photo weight ticket, my husband went with the truck driver to reweigh our goods before they were unloaded and they weighed 21,000 lbs. The cost would have been $5000-6000 more with the higher weight. The fraudulent practices were under-filling boxes and packing 2 book boxes and putting them a dish pack box resulting in more boxes sold to us and more packing material weight. Also they put multiple item stickers on single boxes, presumably to pump up our inventory list numbers to support the faked higher household goods weight. Do not use this moving company!! OUTRAGEOUS BUSINESS ETHICS!!!!! They were unable to fulfill their obligation to complete the move and extorted money to have belongings released from their possession. Trying to communicate with this company is nearly impossible. Phone calls to corporate number go unanswered! Items shipped with them went missing, and certainly will never be found. Or rather, they certainly won't be returned. Items were obviously mishandled and arrived broken, short of carrier's destination. They demand that you provide a customer satisfaction survey at the time they pick up your belongings! Who in their right mind would rate someone poorly that just took possession of your belongings? Unable to navigate their website and find where to fill a claim!

BE WARE!!! Russian operated. After contracting with Colonial Van Lines for my second move I was greeted by Traditional Van lines to move my personal belonging from Texas to Florida. The packers where great the truck was broke down took 2 days to get a replacement. Already closed on my old home and my stuff was still in there. They Stored my belonging in Dallas for 30 days . I called my contact requesting delivery from Traditional. It took them another 30 days to get my stuff delivered to my new home in Florida. Many boxes missing. They will pay 60 cents per pound for missing items regardless of the actual replacement cost which is easier than finding missing stuff and have it delivered. This is a fly by night contractor of Colonial Van Lines which only takes there 30% and bids out the actual move with other Van Lines.
