I appreciate your response, but your version of events leaves out several key facts.
1️⃣ I did ask about protection for the marble top before the move — I have the written messages where your representative stated crating “wasn’t really necessary” and that your crew was “very good” and would handle it safely with bubble wrap. That’s why I trusted your professional recommendation and declined crating — based on your own advice.
2️⃣ The marble was fully under your team’s control from disassembly to storage to delivery. It was boxed and covered by other furniture when I visited the storage unit, so I couldn’t have seen it. I took a photo of the unit immediately after your crew finished packing, and the box was intact and blocked in — I never moved or touched it.
3️⃣ When your team returned weeks later, that same box came out cracked, and the marble inside was broken. Your own crew member acknowledged it “may have had a small crack before” — yet it was your team who disassembled, packed, and stored it.
This was not just an unfortunate accident — it was a matter of trust and professional responsibility. We relied on your assurance that the marble would be safely handled, and the result was a total loss of a centerpiece in our home.
I have already filed a formal complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, which includes all documentation, photos, and written correspondence.
I hope others reading this will make informed decisions and ensure proper accountability in their own moves.
Original review: This experience was devastating for our family. Our most sentimental piece of furniture — our marble table — was broken and the company refused to take responsibility. We trusted them, and they let us down.

Feeling a little cheated.
Used these guys for in state move. Arrived on time and movers were great. Took good care of our property. Quote was higher than needed, but was assured I would only pay actual time. To save time and money i disassembled beds and removed TV from wall mount. Beds were delivered in pieces and TV (well packaged) was left on the floor, which i mounted myself.
Happy with the service we gave the crew $150 cash tip. My credit card was billed quoted hours and then after a week was told although job was done 2 hours early, i will only get credit for one hour. Sales rep deferred to owner, said nothing he could do about it

, would like to say thank you for the EXCELLENT SERVICE! The men marquis and Felix were prompt, respectful, and ready. I had no worries. Very professional. They showed care in everything they did. We highly recommend Affordable Moving and Storage! Right off the bat, we received a quote for our move quickly, and the price was competitive and lower than the other 4 companies we called. We were moving out of two separate homes and merging into one. The move was seamless, the movers were very accommodating to our requests, safely handled all of our furniture and were very courteous. Ray, the lead mover was so helpful during the process as well. The guys were able to move us in the time we were quoted for and there were zero hidden charges! Thank you!!!!

I highly reccomend Affordable moving and storage company. They were professional, friendly and fast. I was amazed at how carefully they treated my furniture. Also they finished the job earlier than anticipated and I was charged less than the given quote. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

I reached out to Affordable Moving and quickly connected with Gabe to inquire about a move on fairly short notice. He provided a reasonable quote and issued a contract and COI that same day, as promised. The move team — Ray, Juan & Felix — were exceptional and efficient taking great care of the items being delivered to two locations. I can’t thank them enough for a job well done and would definitely recommend to others.

Ray, Felix and Marquis were the men who did my move. I have never experienced such professionalism with these men and the owner Gabe was incredible. Worked with me through the whole process. These men worked in the pouring rain and from start to finish it took two hours since I was only going half hour away. Ray was amazing and separated the boxes with my winter things since I will be moving again in few months to my permanent location. These men went above and beyond. The things I had in my car they even unloaded. I will highly recommend this moving company. I’m sure all the men working for this company are fantastic but I have nothing but praise for them. I called for a simple request for a 2-hour move on a Sunday. It was a last minute request made on the Wednesday leading up to the move so I didn't want to ask for too much time. The house for the move is 4 minutes from his business.I called, and the he owner announces himself as the owner, and berates me about how it would be a ridiculous request to ask his movers to come into work if it will be for a 2-hour job.I immediately told him that I would be okay with a 4-hour minimum to make it worth his while, but that he could have told me that from the jump instead of trying to belittle me and condescendingly explain the logistics of his whole operation and why 2-hour jobs don't make sense. Apparently of his employees live in Old Bridge. I asked him if he even had the availability, and he did, but things felt too aggressive to move forward with his company.We never even discussed rates, he just jumped right into... whatever that was. At one point, he was rude about the fact that he did not know what the word "berate" meant. He also called me by the wrong name, Kimberly, the entire time.My partner called him afterwards to confront him, and he refused to admit what happened. Please consider his manner before working with him because if something goes wrong with the move, I can't even imagine how unreasonable he would be then given how he reacted about a 2-hour move. Him and his team could have made easy money, getting paid double for a simple job.Immediately afterwards, I called a moving company in Red Bank and that company was completely fine when I asked the same exact question. They came out for the 2-hour job and it was smooth. So yeah, it was just Affordable Moving & Storage's owner who was unreasonable and rude.
