I never write bad reviews, but this is the third time I’ve come to sell clothes, huge bags with nice brands like Brandy Melville, Old Navy, Alfreic Eden all in good condition, and they never take it. Even tried to sell brand new, never worn Converse but they wouldn’t take it because there was a tiny scuff that cold have been wiped off, yet I’ve seen shoes on their rack that are in basically falling apart. Waited almost 2 hours for them to look through my stuff, then when I came in to ask how long, they finally looked at my stuff for a total of 5 minutes, and gave me $7. They legit skimmed through the bag. I keep asking myself why I come back and now I know not to anymore.

I really don’t recommend this plato’s. They only buy shein and when it comes to selling clothes, they don’t fully look through the bags (that is what I saw personally). It doesn’t matter if the clothes are brand new because they will still say it’s worn out or something is wrong with it which is a shame. I brought in nice pieces of clothes like American eagle and Aeropostale jeans and dresses and they didn’t take any of it even though it had nothing wrong with it. They wouldn’t even take a pair of brand new converse because it had a scuff mark but they have dirty vans on the shelf! They have stuff with stains and rips on the racks though. Wasn’t worth the time in my opinion.

You definitely get more bang for your buck here. What I didn't like was how particular they are with purchasing clothing, but when you look through some of the clothing on the racks, they have stains or holes.

Lovely thrift shop, clean, well lit, garments are in excellent condition. The staff are kind and considerate. Items are well tagged and properly organized by size. Prices are reasonable and fair. Current fashions and classics are available from a variety of popular clothing lines. Limited selection for plus size women. Decent selection for Men. Private changing rooms are available so you may try on your selections. I wear a size 12 jean, 14/16 skirt, and L/XL top. I was able to find 6 garments for a total of $52! I will definitely return for another visit towards the end of September, once all of the kids finish their school shopping. Give this shop a try!

Absolute scam. I had my husband drop off a bin of clothes I was looking to sell. Pretty much all of the items were designer-Lululemon, Love Shack Fancy, Free People and I had some pairs of Abercrombie jeans. I knew I obviously wouldn’t be getting back the price I paid for them but thought I would at least get a decent amount for the items I had. Nothing was old and everything was from recent purchases and in great condition. They took all of the designer items (2 love shack fancy dresses, 3 items from lululemon that each retailed over $100 for, a pair of Abercrombie jeans) and gave me $98. My mistake for selling designer items to them-if you have nice items that you paid a lot for, DO NOT sell them here. Such a ripoff. I learned my lesson and will never sell there again.

Love this well stocked thrift shop. They always have an abundance of women's clothing from sportswear to dresses and everything in between. Lots of accessories, shoes and bags as well, all mostly at fair prices. My only complaint is that it can get busy at times and the checkout line always seems to have just one person. Other than that I highly recommend Plato's.

Plato's Closet Edison is my favorite store! As a customer and former employee, I have nothing but positive feedback for the store. The owner, Jess, created an organized system for the buying process while training employees extensively. Since each Plato's is separately owned, I know I can trust Edison's store. The workers do not get enough credit! The store manager, Kim, is a hard worker with a keen eye for stains. With the rise in second-hand consumption, the store focuses on low pricing and current trends. They carry Coach, Uggs, Doc Martens, Nike, Moschino, and so many more name brands for a fraction of the retail price. From experience, customers tend to assume they will receive more money for their pre-loved items than they're worth. As an opinionated and picky person, I can confidently say working at Plato's Closet Edison was one of the most enjoyable jobs I've had and I will always be a frequent buyer/seller.

Sincerely don’t understand the bad reviews. I always leave with something cute for cheap, the girls working are always so nice, and the selection is huge. My favorite thrift shop, like it much better than the edison location

the owner was very rude & unprofessional. The franchise owners should really take a look at these reviews. I know so many people feel the same way about this store. Also all the girls in the store are very snobby and not helpful at all. And the store is a mess. to be honest not sure they're still in business!

Just shopped here for my first time. I’m a huge fan of Plato’s closet and this was a really nice one. Super organized, nothing looked ratty and a great selection of name brands!

Don’t waste your time. I brought almost 20 pairs of Nike shoes and half of them were practically brand new and they didn’t offer to buy a single one. They claimed they were all either too small of a size or were too worn. Almost all of the shoes were between sizes 6 and 10.5 in men’s and were worn once or brand new. Again don’t waste your time and just go somewhere else.

BIGGEST SCUM BAG LIARS they literally have screwed me not once but twice now. The disgusting girls behind the counter who look like they're 14 have 0 style yet they decide to deny majority of peoples clothing and accept the most absurd things. I was denied for a whole bag and so was my friend aside from one HIDEOUS tutu dress we joked about before getting there because we were assuming there was no way they would take. That was the ONLY thing they took. fast forward a year later i thought hey maybe those disgusting girls are gone and they hired people to work behind the counter so i drive alllll the way back and an HOUR before closing for the assistant manager tells me they stop taking clothes for sale at 7:30. Theyre just trash, their store, the customer service and "workers" Kim baby if you're seeing this it's time to restaff!! Xx
