last two orders have damage. 1 sharp star 94mm refractor came with what looks like multicoating damage on underside of first lens. 2nd order is a eq6r with tripod leg damage. These came from separate warehouse locations. There is no live customer support but sales answers phone near instantly. Last time i used their email to get help it took a week to respond. This is what kills the hobby spending thousands getting fouled products and left not knowing when or even if the products will be replaced. ive dealt with quite a few different astro hobby sellers and all have live support but this one.So shortly after this review i got a call from Patrick and we went thru what was happening in detail and settled my concerns well above what I expected. He handled everything very professionally and I'm glad to say that I'm going to continue business with them.

My order was lost / stolen but the support staff have been outstanding in the way they have handled the problem. They resolved the situation in less than 24 hours from it developing. Friendly, professional and swift to respond to my needs. I can highly recommend Highpoint Scientific.

I’ve recently entered the hobby of astrophotography, and made many purchases through High Point. They are a great company with great people and great customer service. I’ve dealt most often with David Gant and Patrick Sutton, and they are very helpful. I am still new in the hobby and still have much to learn, and often in need of advice. After speaking with them again yesterday, I decided to leave a review. Thanks Patrick for your assistance!

There are few companies these days that go above and beyond for customers and High Point Scientific is one of them! Their gear guys are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, answering questions I'm sure they get asked over and over by newbies like myself. Over the past few years, they've helped me grow in my astrophotography pursuits and I can't imagine using anyone else. High Point Scientific is definitely my go-to company for gear!

I had a Vaonis delivered and it would not initialize. I wrote High Point of what happened and the next day I get a call from Patrick in their tech support. He spent a lot of time talking with me to hlep me solve the issue. Turns out it was a problem internally and that they would send another right out to me. I never felt rushed or like Patrick was trying to pass me on. Their tech support is the real deal.

As a child I absolutely loved astronomy and our planetarium. I even took the Intro to Astronomy class in college (I called it "Physics of the Universe"). But like others, I was raising children and building a career, so this passion took a back burner until a couple of months ago when my Husband bought me a telescope. Well, fast forward to today, and I am outside almost every opportunity imaging the night sky. But as a real newbie, I needed help - that's where High Point Scientific and equipment expert, Patrick Sutton came through with flying color. Every time I called for equipment - Patrick was extremely knowledgeable and very patient. For a newbie - those are outstanding qualities. I need cables and connectors, no problem. Today I broke down and bought a ZWO color camera, a filter for it, and all the connections to make it work with my ASIAir. I got truly expert advice. I simply cannot thank Patrick enough for his help, and for High Point Scientific for help those of us (regardless of our experience) with this endeavor.

Where do I start! High Point Scientific has always been the very best in customer service. No matter who you get on the phone, they are always very knowledgeable and helpful.But one gentlemen by the name of Patrick Sutton has made me feel like he takes the extra mile to make sure I’m taken care of. I consider him a friend more than just a gear expert. From the very first conversation, he made me feel as question I had was too novice or he couldn’t find the answer to the more complex ones.You know this hobby can get daunting and complicated at times to say the least, but he always has the most positive energy when speaking to me. Makes me want to spend all my money there! Haha.On the field whenever I have a small victory on auto-guiding or the back focus he recommended created pin point stars, I always want to call and hope to get him on the other line so I can tell him all about it. Their time is super valuable and they have lots of calls to take. So I never want to take up too much of his time. But every call has been so helpful and HIGHLY recommend you spend your hard earned dollar at High Point because of the people that work there such as himself and everyone else that are amazing there!A++

Filters product reviews that are 3-stars or less. They claim it is so they can resolve order problems. Called them and they said to contact manufacturer. They still refuse to post my 3-star review on a product. Buyer beware!

I couldn't be happier with High Point Scientific. My telescope came without the 9mm Plossl eye piece with it (bummer). I emailed them on a Sunday evening and told them what happened. Monday morning the EP was on its way with no questions asked. I purchased the upgrade kit for my AD12 as well. The directions are written very well with tips that are actually useful detailing exactly what to do. Lastly, because I was using my telescope in cold weather, I ended up with condensation on my secondary mirror after bringing it indoors that left water spots behind. Since I am new to the hobby, I had reservations on exactly how to clean them off without the possibility of damage to the mirror (researching this online has 100 different methods of "this is how I do it" responses). I again emailed them to find out the manufacturer's recommended method of cleaning the mirror. The next day I received a phone call from a representative to discuss! The quality of the product backed up with un parallelled customer support is something to be said and be proud of. Way to go guys.Kevin

When I was 14, I received a small 2" dinky telescope for Christmas. It was perfect for me, I was a kid. When I accidently found Saturn and saw those rings, it changed me somehow. My life-long dream was to own a world-class telescope and shoot photos of the stars. After surfing a few websites, a family member told me to consider High Point Scientific since they have lifetime free technical support. That peaked my interest! After realizing I was entering a whole new profession of which I knew very little about, I was smart enough to know I was going to need a lot of technical support, so I researched astrophotography gear online, learned a lot by asking friends at the local astronomy club, built my dream rig, and made my decision. I built a large order and experienced sheer delight when my dreams came true and my telescope came together. I even custom-built a tripod-roller-table, so I just roll it out, plug it in, and BAM!!! Sky Surfing! My new ASIAirPlus and the Celestron AutoGuider are the icing on the celestial cake! These tools are my Favorites! I'm not sure if only the heavy hitters get Mr. Patrick Sutton for a technical support genius, but he is amazing. Having worked professionally with telescopes since 1976, he is very smart! I was obviously thrilled that Mr. Sutton was assigned to help me. I like the other tech-support gear experts too, as they are very helpful, but over time, Mr. Sutton and I have formed a friendship and he knows my dreams, shows me the gear, and points me in the right direction. The high-tech astronomy tools we have as options today are often so technical, they can be rather intimidating, confusing, and even frustrating. But with a team of Great Gear Experts, it takes the pain out of learning the hobby or turning it into a profession. They either know the answer or now where to get it. Look at these incredible photos! A couple months ago, I knew nothing about astrophotography. I didn't even know there were special cameras just for telescopes! (Even though High Point doesn't specialize in processing your digital photos and some of those technicalities, they still can point you in the right direction if you need that kind of help.) Now, with a little patience, practice, and training, I'm able to capture light that has been traveling for millions of years! It's Incredible! I have a lot to learn, but this new adventure is so exciting, it makes me WANT to get up at 4am and brave the cold, dark mornings to go out and catch what I have been missing for 45 years. I look forward to the years ahead as the High Point Scientific helps me achieve my wildest dreams. Tom K
