I’ve been to one class and the instructor was great. The second time I was 1 minute late due to driving from work during rush hour to get to the class and the door was already locked. I go to many workout classes usually they give a 5min grace period then lock the door. I found that to be really rude to lock after 1 min especially because it was 6:30pm and montclair never ever has parking and its not like the studio has a parking lot. I’m not going back.

I’ve been going to Pure Barre for years and I love everything about it! The classes are challenging but accessible with great guidance from the instructors. It’s a great workout every time. Everyone is so encouraging and friendly. It really feels like a community in there! (Also, it’s super clean!)

In the state for work and this is next to my hotel. Called several times now answer and no voicemails. Everyday this week when I've walked by shop has been open maybe twice. Just walked by today at 415 to see if I could buy the hoodie in the window since my pure barres don't have and of course its closed again. Google and the website says closes at 630pm. But they just close whenever apparently.
Update: The store reached out to me and has offered to mail me the hoodie. The location is only open for class times so if they only have 2 classes a day that's all they're open regardless of Google and website hour times.

I signed up for a free trial class. Showed up 15 minutes early, per the confirmation email. Doors were locked, so I was outside in the freezing rain with a few others. A previous class ended, and that’s when the doors were unlocked to let us in, 5 minutes before the class start time. The instructor told us they’d sent a text out with a cancellation notification. Never got that text. The instructor kept referring to us as “you girls.” “We texted you girls, but you didn’t respond.” I never got that text, but rather had a specific person texting me to confirm my registration, while asking me questions about my fitness goals, mentioning she was excited to work with me. I just walked out. The instructor seemed to have an intention to re-register us for another class, but why would I do that when you greet me with a bunch of excuses, accusing me of not responding to cancellation texts that I never received, rather than apologizing for the miscommunication? No thank you.

My 32 year old daughter persuaded me to try Pure Barre in Montclair. Frankly, I was impressed . They run a tight ship. My daughter ,has transformed herself . Personally , I only worked with Renee ,and she is a Rockstar! If your looking for a comprehensive workout with the goal of getting into the best shape of your life, then i recommend without reservations Pure Barre and Renee especially.

Horrible experience. These people have no problem getting your money for membership but to cancel become rude, unresponsive and threaten to send to collections for non payment without any explanation. I have been to other Pure Barre’s and am completely disappointed and disgusted with how I have been treated.

1 star is too generous. This place is rude, exclusionary and extortionate. Don’t waste your time, money and energy.

I’m not one to typically leave reviews, however, this is an exception. I got to class and was immediately looked up and down by the front desk attendant. She was distinctly unfriendly and curt. I forgot to add my emergency contact in the intake form and made a big point of telling me I “didn’t even” finish the form….i just didn’t see it.I’m a fitness instructor myself, I understand how busy it can be with people coming in and taking in new client forms. At the same time there’s no need to be snippy and rude. The overall vibe from the staff was very negative. I don’t think anyone said hello to me, the front desk attendant just seemed irritated with me.I also didn’t see the section about needing socks on ClassPass. Previous bar classes I’ve been to didn’t require special socks. I did think it was unnecessary for me to be called out loudly in front of other class goers for not realizing this. She offered me to buy a $20 pair of socks , however, at that point, I didn’t think it would be wise to stay given how unpleasant the whole experience had been so far.Definitely seems like the sort of place where you have to have a special type of aesthetic to fit in.

Had the worst experience ever and didn’t even take the class!! Taylor G had to be the most unprofessional person I’ve ever seen. I got to my FIRST class at 6:59 am, however, since there wasn’t any parking had to go around the block, look for parking, and run to the class. It started at 7:00am and I got there at 7:03 am on the dot. This woman stared at me, came out the class to look at the time and walked back in the class and didn’t open the doors. How’s that for a first time experience??? I would NEVER recommend anyone go to this location, they will let you stand in the freezing cold without any explanation as to why they wouldn’t open the doors. She deserves to have HR called on her for the absolute misconduct. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism from an institution ever in my life. They won’t get a single dollar, take yourselves to the bar method instead! Right down the block and a way better experience :) ?

I liked my first class here and was actually planning on joining when my Classpass expired. Unfortunately the girl at the front desk soured my experience. I was 3 min late, and I was aware of the late policy when I arrived, so I really wasn't expecting to be let into class, but I was hoping they might let me in. The woman at the front desk was so rude when turning me away. She really just needs to be properly trained on how to handle this situation gracefully and kindly. I take no issue with the policy itself, but the lack of customer service was upsetting. I'm going to join the other barre studio up the street instead.

1 minute grace period is crazy especially in a location like Montclair where parking can be extremely difficult and your studio doesnt have its own parking. Cant imagine buying a monthly membership, being 2 minutes late and having the door locked on you. I understand being on time is important but 1 minute is insane. Lost a customer
