I’ve been a loyal client of Polished Montclair for months and always had great experiences—until my most recent visit earlier this month (August, before my DC trip). I usually receive excellent service from attentive technicians who help me maintain my natural nail length. This time, however, I was placed with a very inexperienced technician named Yailene who completely ruined my nails.
She was unwelcoming and unprofessional from the start, and before I could even respond, she took a cuticle trimmer and chopped all of my long, healthy nails down to the skin—without asking me what length I wanted. Not only did she cut my nails off, but she also nipped my skin. I was devastated. I had spent months growing my nails out, and she destroyed them in seconds.
Afterward, she even asked what “shape” I wanted—when there was nothing left to shape. My nails were left as uneven stubs, splitting at the sides and tearing my skin underneath. To make it worse, the receptionist and another tech (Dani, who I love and who witnessed everything) both looked shocked at what had been done. Even the receptionist gasped when I showed her my nails. The only “solution” offered was 10% off.
The emotional damage was real—I literally went to my car afterward and cried. I paid over $100 for this disaster, and I walked out with brittle, painful, embarrassing nails instead of the strong, beautiful ones I walked in with. This was horrible. I will never come back here again.

I travel from out of Montclair to come see Dani to get my nails done. I get dip powder with tips (prob not official name) and I don't use the UV machines bc I feel pain in my nails when I do. Dani is simply the best. My nails look so natural and beautiful. She is quick but very very good. I've tried many nail places and hated all of them. Polishes is really the best.

Came here to get my pedicure and SNS full set done with Sully!
Let me start by saying that Giselle at the front desk it’s super friendly, her smile is contagious. I had to call three time to change my appointment due to work and she was absolutely so understanding and helpful.
Sully is very professional and her job is amazing. Will always come here.

This was my first time coming to Polished and everything about my experience was fantastic! I got a gel-x manicure for the first time ever and Sully was so meticulous and thorough! Definitely coming back and am referring everyone I know!

I’m thrilled with my manicure. It was my first time getting a SNS manicure, and it’s still looking great a week later. (The picture on the white background is from a week after the manicure.)
The shop was spotlessly clean, and everyone I encountered was incredibly friendly. They even offered refreshments and made me feel welcome. I’ll definitely be returning for another manicure soon.

Maria is so kind and a great nail tech. Her spa pedicures are amazing and her foot massages feel great. The staff is friendly and I appreciate the complimentary drink when I visit. They have open availability so if I want to get my pedicure done last minute, I know I can go there. Additionally, I like that I get a 10% discount for being a student.

I had an amazing experience at this nail salon! The staff is incredibly friendly. The salon itself is spotless and has a calm, relaxing vibe. My nails turned out absolutely perfect—shaped just how I wanted and the polish is flawless. They also have a fantastic selection of colors. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to all my friends!
