I usually ask for Saima, but I took a chance today with someone else (Alissa). I’m pretty sure I had a bad experience with this stylist before but I can’t remember if it was her, but today reaffirmed my belief that only Saima can trim my bangs. I showed a picture of my bangs from the last time I *loved* the cut. I explained exactly what I liked about it and what I didn’t want. After 2 attempts of stopping and correcting, my bangs were cut too short to do any further correction by that point and I called it a day. Sure, it’s now out of my eyes and not irritating me, but I don’t understand why this was so difficult when the reference was literally myself. Crooked and very bowl shaped. Just ask for Saima from here on out.

⭐☆☆☆☆ DO NOT BOOK A SERVICE HERE!!!
Extremely disappointed with Ulta Beauty in Montvale. I had a makeup appointment booked well in advance for my prom, and they canceled the same day, just hours before the event. To make things worse, instead of offering any real solution, they simply gave me “ideas” of where else I could try to go — as if finding another makeup artist last minute for prom day is easy. Ulta is a franchise, they could easily call other stores and help their customers on a situation they did not know how to handle, I try to tell them this and the lady got so upset and hang up the phone!!!. This was unprofessional, inconsiderate, and caused a lot of unnecessary stress on an important day. I wouldn’t trust them again for any special occasion.

Tom gave me a new and fabulous hairstyle today. He cut over 7 inches of hair and made me look 5 years younger. He really has an amazing talent. Highly recommend

Felt very unwelcomed. No one greeted me or helped me and the security guard followed me around the entire store which was kinda un-settling. Went to check out and the woman behind the counter got a huge attitude when i didn't want to input my phone number ( i dont want spam texts and emails tbh) and just was over all kinda short with me the entire interaction. I wont come back here at all. Ill just stick to the nanuet one. They are much friendlier and helpful.

Went for a hair color appointment. I asked for honey brown/caramel highlights (I have brownish hair), walked out with blonde hair and yellow highlights. I showed her a lot of inspiration pictures from Pinterest. I showed her exactly what kind of caramel brown I wanted, yet I walked out in yellow blonde hair. Don’t recommend, unless you wanna walk out in something you don’t ask for.

I reached out to guest services. Three times. They keep copy pasting the same email response that someone will reach out to me. I haven’t gotten any updates. I DM’d them in IG, said the same thing. It’s sad that they don’t prioritize customer service.

Usually I’m very forgiving when dealing with bad customer service but this deserved a review. I walked in and all i wanted was a 12.99 mascara (I forgot the name of the brand and was hoping they might be able to help me with looking into their system). I saw that there were 4 -5 people behind the register and i went to ask for some help. It’s already not easy for me to walk because i was with crutches and a boot on my foot due to surgery I’m unable to stay long standing. I had to say excuse me twice even though i had already made eye contact with 2-3 of the girls behind the register just chatting away amongst themselves. I would have expected for someone to atleast approach me and ask if i needed any help. But no i was met with a bunch of faces looking like a deer in headlights. After i said “can you please help me” one girl approached and attempted to help but she didn’t know how to help me look for what i asked and looked at the other girls and everyone seemed lost lol. I just went away because i realized this was useless at this point and they weren’t even willing to get out from the back of the register to help me find options on the floor. I went around looking for any option and i was getting very frustrated and tired due to my crutches. I eventually was helped by one girl (i wish i got her name but she was wearing all grey and has black hair) she. Was stocking products i believe and when asked for help she left her post and led me to what i was looking for. I’m really grateful to her. I hope management can acknowledge her for being helpful for me.

Traveled all the way there to buy a specific perfume. The sales associate said it wasn’t released yet. I walked around the store and found it. That same associate said I couldn’t use my 20% coupon at checkout. When I went home and tried it online it worked smh

This review is for Natalie B. This review is long overdue, but Natalie B. deserves all the recognition for her outstanding customer service.
I was in the process of checking out my 30+ items with Natalie and it ONLY AFTER my payment was completed, I realized I had a 30% off coupon. I was beyond frustrated at myself and embarrassed, but Natalie’s kindness and professionalism turned the situation around. Without hesitation, she graciously processed every single return—item by item—and rerang everything so I could use my coupon, all while making me feel at ease.
While the manager seemed visibly annoyed by the situation, Natalie remained calm, reassuring me that she was happy to help. Her positive attitude and commitment saved me over $300 that day and turned what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasant one.Thanks to Natalie, I am now a loyal Ulta customer, only at the Montvale location where she works. She exemplifies what true customer service should be, and I cannot thank her enough!

This is the best Ulta beauty store ever, I found the items I was looking for from each sales associate worker and they were very helpful, friendly, caring and compassion in a delightful way. I highly reccomend everyone should come to a store like Ulta for all their beauty needs because they always make people's day and the atmosphere is pleasant and top tier. They are very good at what they do to make my experience worth having as it's marvelous enjoyable and super nice it was magical like no other, the people who work there should always give their customers S-class treatment to people in addition to me deserve, thank you to the people at Ulta Beauty.
